The space is cozy which has table seating (15 seats) and seating up at the full service bar (8 high seats). This space was redone including the removal of the former drop ceiling. The scratch kitchen food menu offerings are streamlined including a selection of starters (Greek saganaki, soft pretzel with beer cheese, pastrami-spiced tuna, loaded smashed potatoes, buffalo lager mussels), soup du jour (clam chowder), salad special (maple tahini salad), entrees (rooted burger, VT cheddar burger, reuben, ribeye au poivre, chicken & burrata gnocchi), and desserts (Oreo waffle, blueberry NY cheesecake, rooted decadence brownie (with tableside liquor), vanilla panna cotta). The bar offers 3-4 draft beers (Wildbloom & Schilling), cocktails, mocktails and Coke soft drinks. I stopped by Rooted On Main for dinner recently. I was able to sit at an open table. The bartender was also serving tables. I was given the menu to look at. I decided on the Buffalo Lager Mussels ($15 plus tax) and the Burrata & Chicken Gnocchi ($23 plus tax). The Buffalo Lager Mussels had 21 steamed mussels simmered in garlic butter, lager, buffalo sauce, shallots, herbs & Danish bleu cheese crumbles. This mussels were very hot, both temperature and spiciness. Two pieces of grilled ciabatta bread were provided for dipping. The Burrata & Chicken Gnocchi had soft potato gnocchis with lots of rich creamy vodka sauce, 2 pieces of tender grilled chicken, topped with soft burrata & grana cheese, two pieces of grilled ciabatta bread included. While I really enjoyed the spicy and rich food, I requested a container to bring home much of the burrata & chicken gnocchi dish and plenty of vodka sauce too. I got the check which was $41.23 (cash)/$42.88 (card) with tax and before tip. Overall, the food here was served very hot and fresh. The service here was prompt, mussels served in under 10 minutes, followed by the entree 6 minutes afterwards. I will make sure to save some room for dessert next time.

The menu is not large but has some interesting items. My first choice, the Ribeye, was unavailable, so I settled for the Underground Reuben. It was very good. You can tell that chef takes pride in his cooking. The corned beef had a unique flavor that was great. The caramelized onions and the use Gruyère cheese was a nice touch. The value was very good. Entrees & sandwiches come with hand cut fries (or choice of side) and cole slaw. They also have specials too and they offered a lobster roll with hand cut fries. I stopped by Multitude Takeaway recently. I ordered two entrees including the Pulled Pork Sandwich ($9 plus tax) with hand cut fries and slaw and the Pork Schnitzel ($10 plus tax) with mashed potatoes & gravy and slaw. My order was prepared to order and ready to go in 12 minutes after ordering. The two boxes of food were filled up very well. The pulled pork sandwich had chopped pieces of sweet BBQ pork (some fat) with melted cheese on a thick soft bun. The hand cut fries were firm and very tasty. The standard chopped cole slaw was milky and sweet. The pork schnitzel was comprised of 5 pieces of crispy breaded and fried pork cutlets with a hearty brown gravy and soft mashed potatoes and a side of cole slaw. The pork schnitzel was a big hit and I would order this again! Overall, I'm glad I made the detour into Vermont for tasty and filling homecooked food. I had plenty of leftovers for the next evening.
