My 6 year old absolutely loves coming here. He can bring his own material or it is provided and he is very proud of how much he's learned. I guess that this is the biggest takeaway- how his love of learning is fostered and promoted here. Almost 2 years in & I'm amazed at how far my daughter has come with reading and writing because of the immense support she gets from Sylvan. Her reading is more fluid and she's getting more confident about her writing. She's been regularly going 3-4 sessions a week and she's now surpassed her grade level! She's also just gotten into the GATE program. We supplement with math sessions so she will have more confidence with the newer material. I messaged Sylan learning on the website around 7pm one night, my son has been struggling in school and I was a bit panicked, I didn't expect a response until the following day. Instead I got a call about 30 minutes after I sent the message. The lady who called was really attentive and had some interesting insights so I decided to schedule the consultation. I was skeptical but really felt I needed to try something. I met with Mr. Jay & Surhan, and I immediately liked them both and felt it was worth a try. In the six weeks my son has been attending tutoring sessions I have seen steady progress from refusing to read anything ever to casually reading things all the time. It's been a great relief. I was worried he would really fight going but for the most part he seems to love it. There's been a couple of tough days but that is rare. I think they do a really good job of keeping the kids engaged and enjoying the process. My son has ADHD and dyslexia while they don't offer specialized tutoring for those issues the instructors have done a wonderful job working with my son's special needs. Every child is so different but I really recommend meeting with the team at Sylvan in Glendale to meet Surhan and Mr. Jay and see the classroom to see if it's a good fit for your child. Sylvan was a huge help with helping my son and is reading skills. After starting Sylvan he immediately started improving much more quickly than with school alone. I'm glad I did because it has really helped him catch up in reading at school. We are six months in and I have seen an improvement.
