I got my Primary Care office to send one over within an hour and they never bothered to check it. When I got to the appt, they 1) misgendered me and 2) told me the referral "doesn't work" because it's missing information they never asked for. They had almost an entire day to contact my Primary Care office to ask for the referral to be fixed but because of pure laziness they chose to waste my time. What's worse, is after they told me the referral won't be accepted they said "we have a 15 minute grace period..." like I was going to be able to get my Primary Care office on the phone and a new referral sent over in under 15 minutes. That's asinine. The receptionist was flat out heartless.

My experience with Gastro Center of Maryland has been miserable, from communication about my care…read moreto billing and administrative issues. I would not recommend this practice based on my experience. I told my doctor that I had previously been diagnosed with IBS, but I felt dismissed and as though she did not believe me. My colonoscopy and endoscopy were scheduled separately, approximately six months apart. I was left questioning why both procedures had not been considered together, and I did not feel my concerns were adequately addressed. I also had to go back and forth with the office about medication and obtaining a doctor's note, which cost $50. Getting the support I needed repeatedly felt unnecessarily difficult. Before my endoscopy, I was told my copay would be $200, but I later received a bill for $570. Despite requesting a breakdown and speaking with my insurance company, which advised that my copay should have been $200, I have not received a clear explanation of the additional charges. I was subsequently told I could not schedule an appointment until the balance was resolved. Most concerning, I called about worsening symptoms and was promised a callback from a doctor or staff member, but no one returned my call. My primary care physician ultimately directed me to seek immediate hospital treatment. Patients deserve to feel heard, receive timely responses to medical concerns, and understand what they are being charged. My experience fell far short of those expectations.

I don't have dental insurance and it had cost me over $300. I came across Serenity Family Dental and thought what a steal for cleaning since I haven't had it done since 2007. I normally flinch and feel worst after a cleaning then before I went in. Not with Dr. Li. She is AMAZING!! The staff are kind and everything is clean. I enjoyed having my teeth cleaned and actually talking to Dr. Li. Of course I have cavities and Dr. Li helped me find dental insurance I can pay for out of pocket to help cover the cost; but even if I wanted to pay out of pocket, they are so much cheaper then other places. Today I got a three surface cavity filled by Dr. Li and I was amazed by how numbed she got that one section to be. I usually feel the needle and slightly can feel the drill as well causing me to flinch; not with her though. I actually got to just lay back and relax. I highly recommend her and will be returning myself as well as having my daughter become a patient of hers. I have already told all of my friends and family. And once I got there she and her staff were all great! It was still a very stressful situation with all the last minute changes but overall I am pleased with the outcome and would recommend Dr Rosenthal***** I am ver upset that Dr Rosenthal decided to cancel my endoscopy at the last minute which I had booked for over a month now and even reconfirmed 2 days prior. Her reason for cancelling was unprofessional and uncaring. I would have understood if she had some sort of emergency or something but to tell me at the last minute that it was because I had rescheduled it a few times previously - What the heck? If that were really the reason then they should have not scheduled it for me nearly two months ago. Also although I did have to reschedule it a few times due to a family crisis- I never changed it at the last minute like she did to me! Then when I asked for a callback to discuss it - her office assured me 3 times that she would call me back but she never did! My driver had taken off work and I have been off my prescribed medicines and vitamins for two weeks now as was instructed so I did all the prep work. But then she cancelled on me at the last minute and tried to blame me for her cancelling last minute!

First, the center's facilities are really nice, tastefully decorated and peaceful. Second, the check in process is swift and fairly painless, though I swear I fill out the same paperwork every time I come in, but it doesn't take long. Third, I don't spend a lot of time in the waiting room. Shortly after I sign in, I get called back, which is great. I don't appreciate doctors that keep patients sitting around. Everyone's time is important. Fourth, they validate parking in the attached parking garage, which is important for a doctors office in the city with no real street or lot parking. Most importantly, I like the staff. These kinds of appointments are not fun, but the staff makes them bearable. I feel they really listen to my concerns and make a most uncomfortable exam tolerable. They make it easy to share intimate details that I usually don't tell anyone. Glad I found this place and I'll keep coming as long as I have this insurance!
