We had to un-enroll her after just two days here. To me, this demonstrated a poor lack of judgment among other things. Why wouldn't you want to protect the children you're teaching? I spoke with the director and she apologized and refunded all of our money. The issue with the staff not masking is complicated as they claimed a religious exemption to masking (which isn't a real thing)! We're two years into his pandemic. Wearing a mask isn't hard. I'm a nurse and wear one all day while caring for patients. It's not hard to protect yourself and others. It amazes me that I even have to write this right now but I want others to be aware before enrolling here in case keeping their children safe at preschool is a concern for them.

My daughter now attends, this will be her 3rd and a half year. I was looking for a school that felt like an extension of home. A loving and nurturing environment. I had originally missed the open house date but decided to give Ali a call for a private tour. The moment I stepped inside the classroom I fell in love. I knew right away that I had found our school! I have to say, what a relief. Ali explained to me the Montessori philosophy, admittedly I was not familiar with it. Now I can't imagine teaching my kiddos without this philosophy. First Stage Montessori has created a solid foundation for my children's independence, curiosity, confidence and responsibility. Whether your kiddo attends for 1 year or the entire 4 year program, you become family with the school. This was something all the parents complained about. 4. I had a mom bump into me at a store telling me she felt bad for my son because the teacher was talking about him in-font of other parents. 5. Lacks professionalism and confidential conversations. 6: Not enough positive environment and I believe this might go back to the lack of early child development training. 7. High expectations for a four year old boy. 8. No posting of first aid and CPR training or food handlers permit BUT snack were given. What if a toddler begin to choke? We as parents should feel that our children are being safe environment once we drop them off. 9. Open lines of communication with the teacher shouldn't come across as being defensive. Several parents felt this way. Maybe it was just our son that they just didn't connect with or have the patients for but has parents this is the start to their little minds. I also saw an infant on the floor sleeping, half on a mat half on the carpet. They also had blankets covering sleeping infants, which is unsafe. The owner tried to argue with me about how it's totally acceptable and ok to have babies being treated this way. Needless to say, I will NOT be bringing my child here.

I wanted to update my previous review (see the looooooooooong one below about how well this worked…read morefor my two developmentally delayed toddlers). My children are in elementary school now, and I continue to see my decision to place my kids at Knowledge House to be an excellent one. My kids started kindergarten academically ahead of their peers, and having already developed the social skills necessary for elementary school. They could work well with others, treat each other and adults with respect, and solve problems peacefully. I see the influence of their education at Knowledge House sneaking out in all sorts of positive ways: they shake hands with people and are confident when sharing their ideas, they include others in their play and notice when someone is left out, they love to explore and learn new things, and they use many different ways to solve problems. To add to all of that, despite the fact that many of their former classmates at Knowledge House attend different elementary schools, the kids still play together at playdates and we still talk with our former Knowledge House families. Mark and Valerie make this preschool a place for children to grow and learn at their own pace, and where children develop a sense of community and self-confidence.
