My wife and I are staying in the rooms above the saloon for our BabyMoon. As a result, we felt we should try out this place for our first dinner. Both of us were very happy with all aspects of the dinner. The cheese bread, kickin' chicken pizza, and macaroni were all great! We received excellent service all night. Our server was friendly, conversational, and very attentive. Also, it's great to see that the owners are visibly supporting their own staff throughout the night. The live band was just a bonus, and they were very good. Lastly, the headless draft beer system they use makes for great draft beers every pour. read more

Just on the outskirts of town was this cute place tucked in the woods. Atmosphere was inviting and there was a great vibe. They also had live music. We sat at a bar table and we were greeted promptly. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. Drinks were good and they had quite a few specialty drinks to choose from. I had a Pomegranate Martini (It was ok but I wouldn't get it again) and my husband had a Harvest Margarita. It was yummy and would make a good fall fire-pit drink. We did wait a bit for food but there was a pretty good crowd. Our appetizer was served at the same time as our meal. Wish it would have came out a bit earlier so we could have enjoyed it with our drinks. We inquired about the special sandwich/burger on the menu but our server stated that they didn't have a special this week. We ordered the Tater Kegs, Caprese Chicken Sandwich, and The Sasquatch. Tater Kegs were delicious! My Caprese Chicken sandwich was good. My hubby enjoyed The Sasquatch sandwich. It was huge! He had to eat it with a fork and knife! Food was good, vibe was pleasant, and staff was friendly. They have only been open about 14 weeks per our server so hoping for a few specials and an expanded menu on our next visit. It was my first time visiting today because friends of mine were playing euchre there. The service was so bad It literally took 30 minutes for someone to serve me my beer at the BAR! Not only that but it took 30 min to get a freakin salad! A salad That's the easiest thing to put together on the menu and the salad was okay it wasn't the best salad but it wasn't bad All together my bill was $21 Which honestly wasn't worth it. It's a cool place to visit and it's not hard to find it just the service was awful They need more staff on Thursday. It's almost the weekend like it's gonna be busy. I won't be back tho read more

We accidentally found this place while driving around taking in the scenery. It absolutely was a jackpot of a find!! It's off the beaten path so if you don't know it's there or don't do your research, it would be pretty hard to find but make no mistake, it's well worth the stop. The atmosphere is super cool. There are many wildlife mounts throughout the restaurant with QR codes so you can watch clips of the hunt when they were harvested. The live music was great! The food and beverages were a little pricey but absolutely worth it! I got the smoked prime rib special with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The steak was super tender and cooked perfectly and the brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had!!! The potatoes were pretty awesome too lol. Our server was very nice and attentive so all around it was a 10/10 for us!!! We definitely would come back if we are ever in the area. read more

My husband and I had an early dinner on a recent Saturday and it was pretty great! A musician was already performing acoustic covers. The setting was comfortable. All staff we encountered were super friendly and accommodating. The chef came out to ask about our dinner. I overheard him talking to another table about expanding the menu, which is good to hear. The menu is pretty small right now, but there is a good mix of classic options and some innovative menu items. We ordered the fried onion appetizer to start, it was so good with a tasty dipping sauce. I had a glass of house red (Cabernet) and house white (chardonnay), both delicious! Both my husband and I got the steak and the Brussels sprouts. I also got the elote corn and he got mashed red potatoes. The Brussels were really flavorful and roasted to perfection. The elote corn was a fun twist and really good. My husband loved the mashed potatoes (skins on and lots of butter, yum!). We had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back! read more

Great atmosphere and food pricing and flavor was great. I got the sirloin and the cut looked more like a filet which threw me off, but the taste and temp for a sirloin was excellent. Kids cheese pizza was enough for 2! Pretty neat location with more to come. read more

Very weak service, server/bartender/ kitchen staff would not recommend this place. Server was apparently the bartender also spent more time getting shots for a few bikers at the bar, didn't follow up on our food order! Kitchen staff was rude, we didn't receive the food we ordered. Our party of 4 had a lot to like about our time at the Sycamore Saloon, but had some missteps too. The ambiance is great, the restaurant is super clean. I'm a sucker for the Edison bulbs that line the dining room. We were quoted a 30-45 minute wait but we're able to snag seats at the bar right away. The bar selection is huge and their cocktail menu is great. Try the pomegranate martini! We were sat after about a 20 minute wait. The bartenders jointly took care of our table and they were funny and kind but we were left waiting for them throughout the evening. It seems they're still finalizing their menu as some items are crossed out with permanent marker. They got rid of the raspberry chicken and that's what caught my eye while looking for a dinner place! They were out of wings, the beef pizza and the Asiago potatoes. We started with the nachos, they were fine but a bit light on the toppings for the price tag. With no raspberry chicken I decided to just get a side of their 6 cheese Mac and cheese and a side of the bourbon bacon jam Brussel sprouts. Can skip the side salad as we were told they're still working on developing in house dressings. 10/10 recommend the brussels! They were cooked perfectly! The sweet/bacon flavor was just so good. Skip the mac and cheese. The cheese was not emulsified leaving some bites essentially watery and some with a big clump of melted cheese. Good reviews from my brothers on their steak and the pork chop! Our server was quick to rectify a situation with the fourth entree which we appreciated! And it seems the best is saved for last because the homemade peanut butter pie was delicious! The pb was light and not too sweet and the ganache was so tasty. All in all I'd definitely return, maybe with time some of these hiccups will be ironed out! read more

Unique facility and friendly staff along with overall clean dinning area an bathrooms. Good drink selection. We had 2 different kinds of pizza. Good but not great. Could of used a broader flavor profile. The Portabella fries were the same way - good but not a whole lot of flavor. Be sure to use GPS to get you there - otherwise you'll drive right past it, there's not much of a sign yet for the location. read more

I'm writing this not because I want the Sycamore Saloon to fail, but because I really want this place to succeed. First the good: It's in a great location in the awesome Story/Brown County area. The rough edges. We waited a while before anyone came to greet us and seat us. We sat outside and were basically forgotten. We finally, after about 15 minutes we went inside to the bar and ordered a couple of beers. The bartender was not real friendly, and she didn't warn us that you shouldn't touch the disc at the bottom of the beer glasse(s) or you will break the seal on the "self-filling" glasses... and the beer will basically empty out from the bottom of your glass. And it did... This was an accident, and we probably should have known better, but they should have honestly mentioned it and not just smirked and giggled when it happened, lol. They said it "happens ALL THE TIME". So, warning your guests would be a great game plan! And please wipe the mess up quickly. Don't just stand and stare, lol. I promise we were polite about the situation. They did give us a new beer. They also shut the music off on the patio about ten minutes into our visit.??? It was a nice sunny day that was perfect beers and music. The beer was good. We didn't try the food. Maybe it was just an off day for them. but ALL of the staff & management seemed disinterested in being employed there. Super distracted actually. I will definitely give the place another chance since it's in a GREAT location. Our friends called it the "Fake Hard Truth Place" probably because the Hard Truth restaurant/distillery has set such a HIGH standard and has become a "must visit" for Brown County/Nashville visitors. Step up your game Sycamore Saloon and your customers will keep coming back! I have faith in your place, but my first visit was a big ole' bummer. read more
