Bar tended was friendly, and we had a friendly conversation with them and some others at the bar. The Put a fork in it is among the best pumpkin ales we have ever had. Good pizza, great beer. You can get Quaff On! draft beer at Big Woods Pizza, which is some of my favorite Indiana-made beer. When I visited, they offered 10 different beers on tap, and some of them were a lil' funky, like a beer with blood orange in it, and another with pineapple. Just fun and light beers that pair well with food. And because this is a Hard Truth joint, you can also find Hard Truth whiskey and cocktails. Pizza takes up half of the food menu, so you will most likely get the pizza. That's what I did! I got a 10-inch margherita pizza for myself, which ended up being more pizza than I could eat. It's 6 slices, and the crust is very thick, so it was a lot of bread. You can also get calzones and hoagies here, as well as things like salads, wings, nachos and breadsticks. Big Woods Pizza has outdoor seating on the patio, with some patio games to keep you occupied while you wait (giant Jenga!). Pretty good. We all got the individual 10 inch pizzas. We asked about the hand tossed versus thin crust. What was described was that hand tossed is pretty thick and thin crust is very thin and crispy. We got some of each (thin and hand tossed) and maybe they messed up the order and we got all hand tossed? But we could not tell any difference between crusts. They were all on the thick side. Definitely no thin crispy crust at our table. They have some interesting pizza creations and pretty good beer selection. We also got the breadsticks appetizer. They were fine. We arrived in the evening for a Nashville visit, and ordered pizza, breadsticks, and salads for carry out. Everything was great!

We for an order of breadsticks and each got our own individual pizzas. They are aligned with a local brewery so they have some good local beers. We were sat by the back door off an alley through which people came and went for pick up orders which was fine except that 1A) the door didn't close properly and kept being ajar and 1B) people seem to be too dumb to actually close the door and/or make sure it closed 2) it was raining and humid so the hot moist air was constantly rolling in on us and more so 3) every damn fly in Nashville wanted to escape the rain so the afore mentioned door which was constantly left ajar seemed an inviting place for them to take shelter. Our server was very nice and answered many questions for us. We can be very questionny sometimes and she showed a good amount of patience in dealing with us. The pizza and breadsticks were very good! On a whim we decided to stop in before a local concert and had heard good things in the past about this location (we have only been to the Speedway one in the past). The servers were friendly and helpful despite being slammed with a long line of those waiting and a full restaurant. My nephew and his family ate here last Saturday and throughly enjoyed it so I thought I would give them a try. I even tried one of the same things they ordered which was the Pulled Pork Sandwich with the Classic BBQ sauce. I chose the Kettle Chips for my side. The sandwich was awesome! I wanted the Sugar Cream Pie but they were out today. My second choice was the Skillet Cookie which is a hot heated up chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and covered in chocolate syrup. It was yummy! Parking in Nashville can be a bit of a challenge if you visit on a weekend. All lots charge $5. Free parking on the street can be easily found if you come on a weekday, preferably on a Thursday. I like to park on E. Main St across from the Trilogy Gallery. There are two unisex restrooms available. The one I used was clean and well stocked. I really enjoy coming to Big Woods whenever I'm in Nashville, IN. The wait is usually a little bit so I recommend making a reservation the day before (since they don't do day-of reservations). I usually order the smokehouse pizza to share with the rest of my table and that's just what we did this time. The barbecue sauce is really sweet and tangy but not too overly sweet. The pulled pork is also really tasty (coming from someone who doesn't really eat red meat). I will say, I felt like it lacked a little something this time around but usually the pizza is amazing. It may have needed a little more bbq sauce. Our waitress was really nice and patient as our party of 9 got all our orders in and figured out what we wanted. Second time I have visited Nashville, IN, in a month, and both times had a great experience. The staff is super friendly, outgoing and fun. Even the guests mingle and talk at the bar. A friend recommended Big Woods. Five of us came in for a late lunch/early dinner in mid-March. On this day customers could seat themselves. The place was packed. Upon choosing our table we were readily greeted by our friendly waitress (who already had at least 10 other tables) with menus. She brought us our drinks quickly and gave us time to look at the menu. The menu wasn't huge: appetizers, pizzas, sandwiches. Not much as far as vegetarians are concerned, so a couple of us tried one of the veggie pizzas. The food arrived quickly. Tasty. The pork nachos were devoured by the table, and the pizza was really good. I recommend the hand tossed crust with whatever 'zza you're ordering. Overall everything was fine and average. Pretty noisy with all of the TVs and other customers. If you're looking for quaint and quiet, this isn't it. My biggest critique: only single user restrooms - one for men and one for women. This seemed really off given the size and number of customers in the restaurant. There must be some Brown County code that says you only need 1 toilet per 200 people. 4/5 stars overall because the ladies restroom was g.r.o.s.s. Wish I had gone in after finishing my meal. Recommend if you want a pizza and beer. Potty elsewhere. read more

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting big woods pizza while we were in Brown county Indiana. This is a very nice establishment located around the strip of brown county. We were wanting some pizza and this place looked great. We walked in we had about a 45 minute wait on a Saturday night but they had a bar area we could order Beer or liquor anything you wanted. I had their Indiana red ale and it was delicious. It was a little pricey at $7.50 for a draft that is my only downfall. We were seated and I got to watch the playoffs on a nice TV located right in front of me as we ordered an appetizer of nachos and a pepperoni pizza. The prices were pretty good. My husband and I stopped in today after a lovely hike at Brown County State Park. While the pizza looked and smelled delicious we both went the panini route. Delayed review.. we went a few weeks ago on a Friday night. We have been a few times before and usually found the place busy and good. It had been awhile since we had been, they have expanded their seating area since our last visit. To our surprise there wasn't a wait to be seated on a Friday evening for early dinner & there were only a couple of tables occupied. We decided on wings as an appetizer and sodas to start. The wings came and they were lukewarm at best, tasted a bit old and were not very good. The pizza was disappointing as well. Very little in the way of toppings. Not enough sauce to even taste it or make the pizza moist, minimal cheese, and lite on the topping choices. We didn't finish the pizza and didn't bother to take the remaining with us - not even worth it for a late night snack. Service was just so-so. We had to go find our own napkins and drinks weren't refilled promptly even though there was little activity and seemed to be plenty of help at the time. A short time later, one of those that ate with us had some stomach issues and he is used to eating wings and pizza often. Ended up needing to stop for some meds to take to make it through the evening. He ate more of the wings than the rest of us so I have to wonder if that was the culprit after seeing another review here later mentioning wings that didn't taste fresh. It was great and flavorful when we've been there before and we were looking forward to going back but cardboard tasting pizza isn't worth that kind of $$$ read more

Ventured in here during the week right at opening time and got a table withour wait, but I can imagine that this place is packed on the weekend. It's fairly large, but right on the main tourist stretch. Got myself a nice little pizza and of course a 6-foot-blonde... tried the strawberry version this time... delicious. The interior is quite rustic, nicely done. There is also a large outdoor seating area, very important in this Covid era. Pizza was awesome... I ordered the thin version, which is not paper thin , more like a hand tossed. Nice little crisp on the edges and bottom and the remaining dough soft as a cloud. Perfect in my book. We made reservations here on a Sunday at 3 pm and glad we did since they were pretty busy. Despite being a chilly day, I am glad we sat outside because the tables inside were no where near 6 feet apart or any social distancing enforced- thankfully, outside was more spaced apart and had nice heaters overhead to make us comfortable. We have ordered carryout before from a different Big Woods location and I was not a huge fan but I loved everything we had during the trip. Their breadsticks were amazing- we tried them with the cheese, marinara, and garlic butter sauce options- I think cheese and marinara would be my favorite. We also built our own pizza- we went with the pan crust pizza with chicken, green pepper, and pineapple- amazing! Only thing is I wish they gave us more time to eat the breadsticks instead of bringing our pizza out within 1-2 minutes. I am a huge fan of the strawberry blonde quaff on beer but also tried the six foot cinnamon blonde with a cinnamon sugar rim and it was amazing! I am disappointed I did not bring some home since the location closest to my house does not currently have it. All in all, great experience and will definitely be back to this or another Big Woods location. read more
