Under new management and now with a mixed menu heavily weighted towards Indian food. The ambiance is still a bit naff, the spotlights in the dining room are harsh (even a warmer bulb would help), the service wasn't perfect and the drinks menu is limited and weak on quality beer and wine choice (a shame given for a start out, there are 2 breweries in the New Mills area), however the food was great across the board. The bombay chaat was perfectly crispy, refreshing and not too sweet. The amritsar fish was earthy and satisfying. All the curries we tried were tasty (the chicken ruby is great comfort food), I loved the garlic rice and the onion bhajis (1 order was several small ones rather than large) were good too. You can see word is spreading because it was busy from when we arrived at 5.30pm. Despite the fact there's no children's menu, we will definitely be back. read more
