TL;DR - Family friendly pub/restaurant serving decent food.
We dived in here on a visit to Holmfirth looking for somewhere to get a spot of lunch. It's an old building but the interior has been recently redecorated and was very clean and modern. That said, it was a bit of an unusual contrast, almost like the place couldn't decide whether it wants to be a traditional pub or a trendy wine bar.
We had (as always) some tea to drink - we got one pot with three tea bags which is a very good thing! Sparky had a fish finger sandwich which was basically a complete battered fish fillet in a roll; I had a hot steak sandwich which was nice but the steak was lots of small cooked pieces so it was a bit on the dry side.
Prices were reasonable but maybe a tad on the high side for what we got. Service was prompt and friendly. And their loos were immaculate! read more
