I was referred there by Mercy Seat Dentistry for a #3 cracked tooth. My appointment there was immediately rippled with unpleasantries upon my encounter with the first employee, the most blonde receptionist. I was immediately asked for my insurance card before they asked for any type of personal identification. I told them that my referring dentist should have that information. I was informed that they would have no problem billing me and I could provide my insurance at a later time. The first nurse to take x-rays was professional. She asked me about my charting and I said that yes I had filled it out correctly. I was told I had to go to another room for more x-rays. The next nurse who took the next x-rays started out professionally until she informed me that I needed a visual oral cancer screening. I respectfully declined that and make a note of it. The initial meeting with the dentist, Dr. Bryce, was cordial, but then turned to an unauthorized head and neck examination followed by a verbally unauthorized oral cancer screening. I then informed the Dr. I had a right to deny the oral cancer screening, but he said he didn't know if I had that right to deny it. After a final disagreement with the same receptionist while she required a $200 down payment, I asked if I was being detained and left the premises. Future customers here forfeit all rights and liberties at the door.

For the filling appointment, again my experience was fantastic. Sandra numbed me up. Dr. Mensah-Boateng was cautious about causing pain, asking to ensure I wasn't experiencing any while drilling. Sandra put my fillings in, and they are GREAT. Dr. Daniel Mensah-Boateng and his staff are the BEST dental experience I have ever had. Everyone there was friendly and professional, a very nice facility, with easy to setup appointments and online registration, and even automatic notifications/reminders. I went in to get 3 teeth extracted from the back of my mouth, and the dentist was so quick, that when he was done I made sure he hadn't made a mistake and had taken care of each issue, which he had done. Deceptive Billing Practices…read more * Incorrect Billing for Fluoride Treatment for Two Years * Charged $40-50 for a "BOGO" fluoride treatment that should have been fully covered by my insurance. * Insurance Coverage Confirmation: * During a call today, it was confirmed that both children and adults have 100% coverage under your insurance plan for this treatment. * Billing Discrepancy for Adults: * Although the treatment is fully covered, the dental office never submitted the claims for adult treatments to the insurance as required. * Refund Request Denied: * You requested a refund for the past overcharges; however, the owner refused on the basis that the claims had already been submitted and processed. * Billing Standards Conflict: * Billing records clearly show that the fluoride cost on our copies of billing statements, which underscores that patients should not have been charged out-of-pocket for a procedure that is entirely covered by insurance. * Overall Concern: The situation highlights poor customer service and deceptive billing practices, potentially harming patients both financially and trust-wise. You have to wonder how many other families they are doing this to every day. Edit Update after reaching out to our insurance company Insurance Confirmation: Our insurance provider clarified that performing a fluoride cleaning without submitting an insurance claim is unacceptable. Direct Outreach: They have proactively faxed and contacted Middleton Dentistry, advising that a new claim be submitted for our fluoride treatments, which will then result in reimbursement. They also advised them - "all fluoride treatments should be submitted on all claims". Persistent Advocacy: This resolution would not have been possible without our persistent follow-up and insistence on addressing the billing discrepancy. It was clear Middleton was going to do nothing to correct their mistake. We have not received a refund yet but will post again once it has been completed.
