The kitchen space is immaculate and impressive. Their walk ins are bigger than some apartments. We attended the 2023 Bloomington craft beer festival at the location this week and it was a wonderful success. I also attended the ending homelessness in Bloomington event indoors recently. I can envision this property with a little more private investment or even from the county becoming like the Pearl district in San Antonio Texas. I realize this is a large ask because the billionaire that owned pace salsa is from San Antonio, and spent much of his own money regentrifying the pearl. However, with a local culinary school it's definitely possible. I can imagine adding bars, restaurants and shops to the outside space, and including the creek that runs by in the plans. I will love to see great things come from this space!

My husband could NOT stop talking about how great the shower pressure was. I'll admit was VERY powerful, ha. The room was clean and I was surprised that there was a whole set up to cook/clean - stove, dishwasher, toaster and all. Again, first time staying at a Candlewood. Only complaint is that next door neighbors were definitely smoking weed which seeped into our room, but we didn't spend much time in the room anyways. Overall, no complaints!

It's not fancy by any means, but it is relatively clean (some areas of the hotel and my room were not as clean as others), with friendly service. The staff here went above and beyond to ensure I had a good stay here. I also loved how the lobby has rubber duckies you can pick for a chance to win some bonus IHG Rewards points. Not all hotels do this! The room was reasonably spacious, modern and well lit, and the bed was quite comfortable too. There's also appliances like microwaves, stoves and fridges in each room which is great. I would stay here again if in the area, and would recommend this place - just be mindful that there isn't much around this hotel, such as restaurants and all that. For that, you might be better off staying in the Holiday Inn Express.

My parents…read morehad previously visited the venue, and they told me how beautiful it was... but until I turned onto the drive, I don't think their description did it justice! Soybeans were planted on both sides of the drive, reminding me of my grandparents' farmland in Greene County. As you come over the hill and see the event barn, especially as I arrived around sunset, it was just stunning! The barn and other buildings on the property date to the 1800s, some of the oldest in Monroe County. I'm a sucker for historic preservation (I'm in the DAR and have a Revolutionary/Hoosier pioneer ancestor buried within half an hour of this place!) so it makes me happy to see the care that the Lucas family has put into both their farm and their event venue. Despite its long history, the barn itself has a modern feel perfect for that rustic farmhouse aesthetic, much like many of the very expensive new construction event barns that are popping up all over the Nashville, TN area where I live. It's so pretty both in daylight and evening that you can't go wrong with your timing. The views are unobstructed from all sides, a perfect little piece of rural paradise not too far from IN-37. I love small businesses, but especially those that are locally owned and Veteran owned. Whippoorwill Hill is both. If you're planning a wedding, craft fair/market, reunion, or just about any other kind of event where you'd like a custom experience with a beautiful Hoosier setting, this place is for you!

The eggs and biscuits & gravy were especially good--fresh, hot, and actually flavorful, which you don't always get with hotel breakfasts. The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, but there were a couple of comfort issues. It tended to run a bit warm, and the thermostat didn't seem to cool down to the temperature we set. The air also felt pretty dry overnight. We had an accessible (handicap) shower, and while it was easy to use, it left about half of the bathroom floor soaked after each shower. That made the floor very slick, which was a bit of a safety concern. We also liked that the hotel had a pool, which is always a nice perk, but it was pretty small. Overall, a nice stay with great amenities and breakfast, but a few room comfort and bathroom design issues that could be improved.

There is enough to get in a workout but the cardio gear is very dated. Overall, solid experience and I recommend this location for a short or long stay.
