Early birthday dinner for my boyfriend while in town for Mizzou basketball game. We had a reservation and were sat a great table at the front window. The food was excellent. The table bread is an appetizer but worth the price. The Pasta Allá Norma was delicious. The portion was appropriate. My boyfriend really enjoyed the Beef bourguignon entree. We normally don't do dessert but I'm really glad we had the apple crisp. It was fantastic. The service met our expectations. Overall we had a great time. Highly recommend!

Hot Chicken Sandwich with lemon aioli

My daughter and I ate dinner here after a visit to Mizzou. We were greeted promptly and seated right away. There are paintings from local artists hanging on the walls, with little cards showing the artist's names. It was a quiet, relaxed place. We started out with the Parmesan fries. They are exactly what you would expect--house cut French fries sprinkled with Parmesan. The ketchup was house made and good--not as salty as regular ketchup. For entrees, my daughter got the Pork T, minus the onions. She enjoyed it and especially liked the focaccia bread bun. I got Chris' Hot Chicken sandwich. I wasn't sure about the lemon aioli because I don't love mayo, but it was really good and went well with the sandwich. I was glad I didn't ask them to skip it. All in all, we thought it was a solid choice for dinner.

Our waitress was very nice. The kitchen was slower than anticipated. Tuna salad was okay but a tad sweet. Steak was very fatty. Mash potatoes needed more seasoning. For the price it did not meet our expectations.

Visited this great little restaurant for a late lunch and were very happy with service and meals! Seating is in an airy, open space and cute (though not especially distinctive) decor. We ordered and shared the salmon salad, parmesan fries, and pork sliders and were satisfied with the portions all around. The pork sliders are typically served with three, but they allowed us to order an extra so it was a perfect split. Made with very tender and flavorful pork belly, the pork sliders were the standout. Salmon salad was solid but the parmesan fries could have had more seasoning and a crispier texture. Recommend a visit!

The food was fantastic! I didn't expect it to be this good, I saw the menu and was skeptical. I tried the ahi tuna, parm fries , meatballs, hummus and chicken sandwich and they are were amazing!! Pleasant surprise. Happy hour was nice too

It's been 4 years since we last visited Sycamore so we were curious if it still had the sizzle that we knew it had. Thankfully we were not disappointed and I'm happy to report they have many new touches that make dining here a real treat. First off, we made it in early enough to partake in their Happy Hour (M-F) 4-6 specials. If you know me not only am I a fan of HH's, but ones that have unique offerings like Sycamore's are near and dear to my heart. If you like Chicken Liver Mousse, I would put theirs near the top of my favorites. Just the right density and capped by a thin layer of bone marrow. Accompanied by an ample side of seeded crackers along with some thinly sliced pickles.I debated a 2nd order as my entree. We also shared Flatbread Plate that sported very tasty homemade hummus and fresh pitas. For our mains our party went for the Walleye that was lightly breaded and seasoned with braised greens and mashed potatoes and gravy; the Rabbit which was shredded and in a wonderful red wine sauce over a bed of creamy Polenta and with mushrooms; a bowl of the black bean soup that was hearty but not too thick. For me I went for something different: the Ksle Caesar with a wonderful addition of Parmesan flakes, sourdough croutons and very fresh white anchovies and the appetizer of fried oysters. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the oysters had too much breading ( in most tastes, it was hard to discern the oyster from the breading) Service, although they were packed, never missed a beat. Our main man, while tending to what looked like 10 tables, had time to visit with us, share insights to the menu and attend to our needs. It wont be 4 years before we want come back again!

Always an amazing drink selection here

Food was not very good with a limited menu. Only one server, serving the entire restaurant. Was not impressed.

Always had great service. The gnocchi with butternut squash is seasonal, but so worth it when it is on the menu.

Great food, outstanding bar and associated tender to the bar. What else you looking for in an upscale restaurant in our university town?
