However, our experience with the Kids Club has been extremely disappointing. About a year and a half ago, my son had an incident where a staff member teased him. He reacted in a playful but inappropriate way, and as a result, he was suspended for a week. At the time, he was also dealing with a serious medical condition that was affecting him neurologically, which we later came to understand may have influenced his behavior. Out of caution, he did not return to Kids Club after that incident. Now that he is doing much better, and I have returned to full-time work, I recently attempted to bring him back--only to be told that he is permanently banned. The reason given was a Facebook comment I had made at the time describing our experience. I made multiple attempts to have a calm, reasonable conversation with staff to revisit the situation, especially given the time that has passed and my son's improved health. Unfortunately, there was no willingness to reconsider. This puts us in a very difficult position. As a working parent, I rely on the Kids Club in order to use the gym. Without access to childcare, we are now faced with canceling a membership we've maintained for years--not because we want to, but because we no longer have a way to utilize the facility. What's most concerning is the lack of empathy and accountability in how this situation has been handled. I sincerely hope the club takes a closer look at how interactions with children are managed, and how situations like this are resolved, so that other families don't have a similar experience.

The desk people ALWAYS great my on my way in with a smile. The cleaning lady is always on the move, keeping up with any messes left behind by members. I have tried a few classes that they offer and have found that overall the Body Pump class is my favorite because of the over all body work out. I can't say enough about the instructors either. Katie K & Taryn are definitely 5 star instructors. None of the classes are any extra charge, it is all included in the membership. But If you want a personal trainer, its extra. (although 1 session is free when signing up) I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for not just a gym but an overall athletic club experience. I will be taking my kids swimming here this summer in the large pool in the back. (with a water slide!)

Not only is the facility clean and beautiful (it's like the Disney World of swim schools) but the staff are amazing too. From swim teachers to the front desk staff, everyone is so welcoming and encouraging. From the moment we joined, we have felt like we are a part of the Goldfish Swim family and it brings me so much joy and peace of mind to know that my son is not only having a blast, but learning water safety as well. It was our first experience with swimming, and we were very open about this with the staff before the class. My son was so excited and happy during the entire 30-minute lesson. He enjoyed every moment in the water, and as parents, it made us so happy to see him have such a joyful experience. After the class, we went to the front desk to sign up for a membership. But instead of welcoming us, the staff started asking if we received a card or certificate. We said no. After waiting for a while, the staff member came back and said they were offering a second trial lesson -- without any explanation. When we asked why, we were told something vague about "rules" and that our son was "not sitting properly" and "playing with a toy giraffe." This was deeply disappointing. He is only 3 years old. It was his first time in the water. He does not speak English as a first language. What kind of behavior are you expecting from a small child on his very first swimming experience? We were not asking for free lessons or discounts. We were ready to pay for his membership. Instead, we felt judged and unwelcome. Even worse, some of the lifeguards were rude and unfriendly. We decided to cancel the second trial and will not return. I don't recommend this school to any families who expect kindness, patience, and proper communication -- especially with young children or non-native English speakers. Swim schools should support and guide children gently, not criticize them for being new.

The BSS staff heard our concerns and set about a systematic, patient, and effective approach to not just teach our daughter to swim but perhaps even more importantly how to overcome her fears in a healthy way! I also really appreciate their policy about allowing parents to be present, but only in encouraging and supportive ways. I heard of one Dad who was telling his kid if he didn't get in the pool, he'd push him in! The poor kid seemed so scared, and this dad's way of literally pushing his kid through fear is not only totally counterproductive, but it stresses out all the other kids too.
