This place is totally awesome! They have a huge selection of cards you can purchase, along with assortments of other awesome goodiez. I'm not really sure how scheduling goes for card playing and whatnot, but they have hella tables set up and people are always blasting down cards. Very friendly and were greeted right when we walked in. They asked if we were looking for anything specific and if they could help us find anything. They checked several times during our visit. We came in here mostly because it was a game store (a dying breed) along the path of our NorCal road trip. We were pleasantly surprised to find the store is quite large and open and has a varied selection of goods. We spent a lot of time looking at Warhammer figurine sets and D&D figurines. We didn't look at the comics, but there was a medium sized collection. There was a spread of easy to moderate difficulty board games. Lots of dice :D Staff was friendly and not overbearing. There was a gaming area in the back, but I'd call about availability. We ended up buying a set of Nekron Destroyers to add to my collection. read more

What a great experience. We were walking around down town after dinner and this was the only store we found open. We love board games so we went in. The employee greeted us when we walked in and was very helpful when I asked for a graphic novel an 8 year old might like. He took some time with me to figure out what I could get her. Loads of games and comic books and many other cool items (bobble heads, miniatures and cards, Pokémon, and other things I know nothing about). Excellent customer service! read more

The owner of Sword & Board has done an incredible job catering to the needs of all the clientel. Whether you are Magic, Warhammer, DnD, 40k, or Board Gamer player you will find everything you need here. Casey is a dream of a small business owner. He's shop is clean and organized. He and his staff are always friendly and helpful. I recently took my daughter in to buy and play Pokémon TCG. The environment was welcoming instructional. Everyone in the shop, staff and patrons were helpful and encouraging in our new endeavor to start leaning Pokémon TCG. There was plenty of room to play, snacks to buy, as well as a large selection of cards to go through. The prices were very fair, Casey even explained his pricing to further insure me of the pricing. My daughter's and I can't wait for the release of the next expansion and hanging at shop with Casey and everyone else! read more

The local comic book shop here in Ukiah is awesome. The owner is incredibly approachable and does not project the "elite gamer" mentality that I have seen at other game stores. The shop in Santa Rosa is like like that. The staff is friendly, and there is a nice collection of comics and other assorted games, figurines and collectibles. I know that people drive from Lake and Sonoma counties to participate in events here. The best part about Sword and Board is the actual space to meet other people and play games. There are weekly Friday Night Magic tournaments, drafts and an Edh league. Saturdays there is a big warhammer scene, complete with tables and terrain. Tuesdays are board game night, and the shop has a great collection of games for the board game crowd. I often see new and exciting games being played. A great place to find something to do in Ukiah, and it is located downtown by eateries and the Brewery. read more

They have lots of events for people to get together and geek out in a clean organized environment. Many of the folks who come here would otherwise by themselves and this communal atmosphere is frankly a public service just like the library. I call it the Ukiah Games Convention Center. I went in there to check it out and came out of there with a ton of expansions for some semi-obscure board and card games, stuff I do not even find in Sacramento! I would highly recommend! read more

This store is cool. I went there to sell some Manga comics and the owner was really nice, he gave me a good deal on my comics. I don't really know much about selling comics but he gave me the option of store credit or cash for my comics. There was no Manga in this store for me to trade, or I might have done that. I ended up taking the cash. If you like American comics then this is the store for you. They have a large selection of comics like Batman, Superman, and good other comics. read more

If you're a comic book nerd like me this place is awesome. Take note that I only get to go here when I visit too. I like to buy up all the comics I can because they keep the face value for several weeks. It's wonderful! The guy who owns the place is a class act and makes sure that he helps you with whatever it is you need. He's very knowledgeable on his products. Which helps when you're looking at new games or comics you haven't read yet. I'll be going here as often as I can, I might actually have to take day trips when certain releases come out. While a little dreary this place is pretty great. They are active space giving a place for both adult gamers and kids to come and play a wide variety of games. Their selection is solid and encapsulates everything from RPGs to contemporary board games to card games and some comics. A friend and I went in to find some games for her daughter and both the guy working the counter and a couple of the customers were interested, enthusiastic and super helpful. It makes me happy to that there is a place like this in Ukiah. read more

The owner is fantastic with his product knowledge and the pricing is reasonable. The staff will actually break off from their duties at this store and assist with deckbuilding or game playing. I am not a gamer and don't understand this whole magic thing, but my son loves it! He goes to sword & board regularly. They provide a great place for kids to hang out and play their games. I was just there today to buy some magic Christmas gifts for my son. The clerk was fantastic and helped me choose some things I think my boy will love, if not he can exchange them.
