The service is always friendly and they are super knowledgeable about a lot of the stuff they are selling.

Went back to the shop around 12PM, one hour before the shop's official opening time managed to talk to the owner. He said he did not have allocation for the 8:30AM event so it was "cancelled". Managed to still get the promo packs but no OP17 for our time frame. He mentioned he only had two of each of the DON!! and luffy promo cards left. My coworker went 30 minutes later to claim his and still managed to get some after he claimed we took his last available promos. What is even more suspicious is that the LGS held a preorder sale for OP17 where he could have easily allocated 8 boxes for the 8:30AM event. On top of that he opened several boxes for himself and posted it on instagram whereas only his buyers and himself were able to get their hands on OP17. Where the said 8:30 pre-release players received nothing.

He was extremely helpful, friendly, and didn't mind taking time to answer questions, which I had plenty of since the collecting industry had changed so much since I stopped. Over the next 3 years I bought numerous hobby products from Kevin. When COVID hit in 2020, the industry went crazy and caused prices to skyrocket. Kevin remained true and offered prices well below what he could of asked for at the time. I asked him about it and he told me he'd seen numerous highs and lows in the industry, and he wanted to take care of his loyal customers who would always come back. I have a great deal of respect for Kevin, and while I have stopped collecting new cards (I just purchase vintage), I still stop by from time-to-time to say hello. He no longer sells sports cards because the distributors got too greedy, and he didn't want to pass those excessive costs to his customers. He still sells comics though, and he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with anyone who stops by. It's a small shop and if he doesn't have something you're looking for, he has years of connections and will either find a way to get it or point you in the right direction. If you're in the area, stop on by and take a look. You'll feel welcomed and want to come back. Not enough places like this anymore.

They do not offer current releases, back issues only. It's a great use of a small space, packed to the gills with Funko Pops, action figures, and other toys. The art design in the store is beautiful with a life sized sculpture of Poison Ivy, posed in a jungle of greenery greeting you when you walk in the front door. The grand opening was fun, with the 501st Legion in attendance and lots of cosplayers. Ivy's Hideout is a welcome addition to the geek culture that is alive and well in Downtown Petaluma along with other stores like Goblin Bros and Nostalgia Alley. Check 'em out and support a local business.

You enter a small room with mostly new books and some little gift items. Off of the main room is a back room with children's books and young adult books -- but the coolest thing about this room is the pet iguana -- my daughter loves it. Off the main room to the right is a large room with tall shelves full of books in a variety of subjects. There are many more books at Watershed than at Catfish (although Catfish may be closed now), but it's a little more claustrophobic. Another thing that sets this store apart is their regular local author showings. We met a couple authors, picked up an autographed book, and had some wonderful sparkling pear cider. I love used book stores in general, but I always find something in here that I like.
