After five or six stops we finally were given a lead that panned out. We called and Karen answered. She said they had just received a delivery that had some exactly as we needed. I told Karen that we were a block away and would be right there. When we entered we were greeted by another lady who worked there. We asked for Karen and she took us to her. Karen had already taken the time to pull the dominoes for us and had them in hand waiting for us. While the trip would not have been ruined without the dominoes, it was great to have them and Karen and Spunky Skunk were HUGE parts of making it a great trip. Thank you, Karen and everyone at Spunky Skunk!!!!

Wonderful shop and exceptional customer service!…read more I stopped in after realizing I had forgotten my binoculars at home and noticed they carried them in the shop. Marilyn immediately got right to business. She didn't try to oversell me or push me toward something I didn't need--she simply listened to what I was looking for and helped me find a pair that worked for me. There was quite a selection to choose from and she really made this process seem easy and pleasant. It's obvious Marilyn knows her optics. I don't know if she's the owner or a partner, but she certainly knows how to take care of her customers. She was warm, welcoming, and, most importantly, patient. She took the time to help me even though it was a busy day. And yes, I should probably mention that I did end up buying a pair of binoculars--and I'm very happy with them! I also expected to pay a premium for what I purchased simply because of the location. To my surprise, when I got home to check reviews, I also found out there wasn't any crazy markup. There was none. I already felt like I had won by finding a quality product while traveling, only to discover I didn't have to pay the "tourist tax" for it. NICE! This tells me they're not exploiting their customers when they obviously could. Even if there had been a premium, Marilyn was such a genuinely friendly person that I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Great customer service goes a long way. And, not being completely selfish, we were also able to pick up a few things for our kiddo, who wasn't with us on the trip. There were so many interesting things to choose from that could keep a kid--or a young engineer--busy for quite a while. I would absolutely stop by this shop again and would recommend giving it a visit if you're in the area. Thank you, Marilyn! We really appreciate you!

Watershed Books is located down town on Main St…read more Watershed looks like a little hole-in-the-wall from the front, but it's actually quite large. You enter a small room with mostly new books and some little gift items. Off of the main room is a back room with children's books and young adult books -- but the coolest thing about this room is the pet iguana -- my daughter loves it. Off the main room to the right is a large room with tall shelves full of books in a variety of subjects. There are many more books at Watershed than at Catfish (although Catfish may be closed now), but it's a little more claustrophobic. Another thing that sets this store apart is their regular local author showings. We met a couple authors, picked up an autographed book, and had some wonderful sparkling pear cider. I love used book stores in general, but I always find something in here that I like.

This is the first time I have ever written a negative review…read more After repeatedly visiting this store and after spending many hundreds of dollars over the past WEEK (which is significant considering the average cost per item at the store), not to mention hundreds of others over the last year, the owner and the store manager just falsely accused my wife of stealing gum And hair clips. The accusation is bizarre considering how much money we actually spent at the store versus the items she accused us of stealing, not to mention my wife's general morals and character. In reality, the gum and hair clips were paid for at the end of their visit to the store along with all the other items purchased (multiple gifts in triplicate for our nieces and daughter). After my wife tried to explain all of this, and after being met with continued rudeness, she asked if our three year old could use the bathroom and they denied her the right to do so. Clearly, we will never come back. I will also seek out other avenues to post this message on including the better business beuerau and chamber of commerce. This isn't the first time I have seen a brown skinned woman falsely accused of shoplifting, and I'm sure it won't be the last, but it is disgusting none the less. I wish I could give zero stars. I feel sorry for the store owner who must be a sad and miserable person to act so bizarrely and rudely against her own interest. Our dollars will go elsewhere and I encourage you to do the same.
