The staff is rude and unhelpful. They followed an autistic child that was there with a gift certificate throughout the store, then acted as though they were going to steal. There are many stories of them treating people this way. The store looks nice, but no amount of cleanliness will make up for the disgusting treatment of others. read more

We were camping in the area and discovered that we had forgot our 12's dominoes. We hurriedly went into town on a scavenger hunt, but NO WHERE had an dominoes! After five or six stops we finally were given a lead that panned out. We called and Karen answered. She said they had just received a delivery that had some exactly as we needed. I told Karen that we were a block away and would be right there. When we entered we were greeted by another lady who worked there. We asked for Karen and she took us to her. Karen had already taken the time to pull the dominoes for us and had them in hand waiting for us. While the trip would not have been ruined without the dominoes, it was great to have them and Karen and Spunky Skunk were HUGE parts of making it a great trip. If you are into Waldorf, Montessori, or just well made or unique toys this is your store! This place is a hidden gem! They carry everything imaginable for you and your child including solid wood toys; if they don't have it they are so helpful and will help you get it! The people working here are super nice and are not on your back when you are looking. I scored most of my purchases half off! Cheap prices for some really pricy stuff. Wood train hand made, wood pull toys hand made, a shape sorter, holztiger animals, and a cool wood popper toy I have never seen before. For those like me that would only buy certain brands that end up being super hard to find in person, she has them! A gigantic selection of hape, haba, Manhattan toy company, plan toys, and more! This is a spunky store! First off, the employees were nice and helpful. Second, they have an eclectic mix of children's toys for all ages. Third, they have a good variety of board games and puzzles. My wife and I spent an extended amount of time browsing the store and found several toys that our daughter would desire. The prices were competitive as well, with one child's backpack we liked that was cheaper than the Amazon price! We don't find that everyday. We eventually settled on a hand puppet of a fox, it was well made and we knew she'd enjoy listening to the clever devil read her a fun bedtime story. read more

Downtown Fort Bragg's best (and only) independently owned toy store that isn't filled with the generic junk you find at the larger chained shops (or the bulk discount super mart types formerly staffed with retired aged welcomers). Need some time to kill or have a little one who needs a distraction? In addition to numerous age appropriate puzzles, board games, activity books, don't miss - glamorous looking Swatches (beware of the Barbie one, let your daughters beware!) - a large collection of Japanese erasers...the cuteness factor is silly through the roof...especially if you are the anime geek type, or like everyday items (and food looking items) made into miniature erasers. Now do you use them to erase pencil marks, writings, drawings, or do you collect em? Major dilemma here - rod and string puppets - gag gifts (srsly, what does one do with a fake bullet and fake sticker of a pseudo bullet hole)? - Smencils. WTF is a smencil? It's a scented eraserhead pencil. Comes in all kinds of fruity flavors. Where are the funky flavors? Store's name is a tip of the hat to Fort Bragg's legendary Skunk Train. Best toy store I've ever been too. The selection is good for all ages and the price range is affordable for all ages. Walking in there is literally every kids dream. The store is very well maintained, clean, and well organized. The employees are incredibly helpful and a delight to be around. We stumbled into this toy store to check it out while killing some time. We have a 1.5 year old toddler so figured why not? We love to support local stores and pleasantly surprised by the great selection of toys from all over the place. They try to carry unique toys that are big box stores don't. I came out with some great made in UK games. While there, I noticed they had a great selection of play kitchens, play bbqs, and all sorts of similar items for the creative/imaginative mind! I haven't seen these types of toys at other toy places. It's a pretty decently sized store as well. They had toys for every age range starting from infants to adults! If you are a puzzle lover, they have a whole section dedicated to that (again, infant puzzles to pretty complex ones). Great local place to check out for any age! read more

Best Toy Store - EVER!! We found this toy store a few years ago on one of our annual visits to Mendocino. Now it's Tradition! They have farandaway the best selection of toys that you will NOT find at the large chain stores. Great innovative toys, great variety of selection for all ages. And the owners are obviously very knowledgeable and very helpful for suggestions. We always come home with unique toys that are really appreciated by our grandchildren, and their parents!! read more

It is a clean and nice little store that had quite a bit to offer. It has moved to 340 north franklin st. and is a better location. When I as there they had sales on some items. The sales ladies were very friendly and greeted me at the door. Fort Bragg Ca does not have many toy stores but this store is kid friendly and clean. read more

this store is Amazing..I have a soon to be 4 year old daughter and her mouth dropped with excitement when we walked in there. she loves anything princess..they had great princess dresses and shoes to match. everything was a good price also...this is a wonderful store and we will be going back....lots of gift ideas for all ages thank u for such a great lil store read more
