I was expecting the store to be all music focused with the normal token representation that you normally see. But NO! They had all sorts of Warhammer! Lots of the new stuff you find at branded stores but also the out of print and hard to find items too! They had a huge selection of DnD models and source books, again including some hard to find copies. Soon I had a handful of items in hand and was walking towards the counter when I saw a Warhammer battle box that I've been looking for that was out of print. I had to have it! Didn't see a price on it and asked the employee the price. He looked it up but it wasn't in the system and we were able to settle on a very reasonable final price. I've never been to a store that had harder to find items and was still able to make a deal! Absolutely amazing! I live out of town but will be sure to visit Music Merchant every time I'm in town to see what new (or out of print) items they have in stock

Marilyn immediately got right to business. She didn't try to oversell me or push me toward something I didn't need--she simply listened to what I was looking for and helped me find a pair that worked for me. There was quite a selection to choose from and she really made this process seem easy and pleasant. It's obvious Marilyn knows her optics. I don't know if she's the owner or a partner, but she certainly knows how to take care of her customers. She was warm, welcoming, and, most importantly, patient. She took the time to help me even though it was a busy day. And yes, I should probably mention that I did end up buying a pair of binoculars--and I'm very happy with them! I also expected to pay a premium for what I purchased simply because of the location. To my surprise, when I got home to check reviews, I also found out there wasn't any crazy markup. There was none. I already felt like I had won by finding a quality product while traveling, only to discover I didn't have to pay the "tourist tax" for it. NICE! This tells me they're not exploiting their customers when they obviously could. Even if there had been a premium, Marilyn was such a genuinely friendly person that I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Great customer service goes a long way. And, not being completely selfish, we were also able to pick up a few things for our kiddo, who wasn't with us on the trip. There were so many interesting things to choose from that could keep a kid--or a young engineer--busy for quite a while. We ended up walking out of the place with unicorn and mermaid birthday cake candle holders - such great bait for the kids. I ended up walking out with a handmade charcuterie board made by someone local --- the proprietress' husband, in fact. Funny story: we were walking around town when we saw a man selling a pile of charcuterie boards he was selling right there on his driveway. Unfortunately, he doesn't accept credit cards - he mentioned that his wife has a credit card machine. Lo and behold! After walking around some more, we found this shop selling his boards and it turns out, it was the woodworker's wife's! Anyway, great souvenir as it was made by a local artist and "Mendocino" was burned into the wood.
