The owner Sam guided me to Uncanny X-Men back issues, and I was lucky enough to fill some gaps in a early 90s run that I had from the 90s. They run different discounts on back issues, it was 25% off when I picked up my books. I was impressed with the organization of the back issues, and it appeared they had all been re-bagged and boarded which made them present really well. I'd also noticed they have 50-75% off on some graphic novels that they are clearing out. Recommendation: I saw they have some graphic novels of Saga of the Swamp thing by Alan Moore and Stephen Bissette. If you haven't read this, its a must buy in my opinion.

The wall is lined with new releases and current titles, there's a strong selection of graphic novels, and the middle of the store is packed with long boxes full of back issues, including great deals like 50-cent bins, variant covers, and bundle finds. Today I went there to purchase a few 151 Chinese booster boxes. I asked where they get their booster boxes because I have ran into issues with fakes. My question was met with rudeness . I'm sorry I'm trying to be thorough. I wanted to inspect the box. We weren't allowed to touch them. So I should spend close to $400 dollars with a "trust me bro". Met Kevin, the Owner, who's been in business since the heyday of collecting in the 80's. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and didn't mind taking time to answer questions, which I had plenty of since the collecting industry had changed so much since I stopped. Over the next 3 years I bought numerous hobby products from Kevin. When COVID hit in 2020, the industry went crazy and caused prices to skyrocket. Kevin remained true and offered prices well below what he could of asked for at the time. I asked him about it and he told me he'd seen numerous highs and lows in the industry, and he wanted to take care of his loyal customers who would always come back. I have a great deal of respect for Kevin, and while I have stopped collecting new cards (I just purchase vintage), I still stop by from time-to-time to say hello. He no longer sells sports cards because the distributors got too greedy, and he didn't want to pass those excessive costs to his customers. He still sells comics though, and he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with anyone who stops by. It's a small shop and if he doesn't have something you're looking for, he has years of connections and will either find a way to get it or point you in the right direction. If you're in the area, stop on by and take a look. You'll feel welcomed and want to come back. Not enough places like this anymore.

Went back to the shop around 12PM, one hour before the shop's official opening time managed to talk to the owner. He said he did not have allocation for the 8:30AM event so it was "cancelled". Managed to still get the promo packs but no OP17 for our time frame. He mentioned he only had two of each of the DON!! and luffy promo cards left. My coworker went 30 minutes later to claim his and still managed to get some after he claimed we took his last available promos. What is even more suspicious is that the LGS held a preorder sale for OP17 where he could have easily allocated 8 boxes for the 8:30AM event. On top of that he opened several boxes for himself and posted it on instagram whereas only his buyers and himself were able to get their hands on OP17. Where the said 8:30 pre-release players received nothing.
