My son and I stopped in Switchback Coffee Roasters for coffee and a pastry to share before a very big day. Move in day in his new town. I flew in to help him manage his movers and unpack every last box before we went to sleep that night. Switchback provided the perfect fix to fuel us through hours of unpacking and organizing his cross country move. When I thanked his movers before they left they in fact told me verbatim "thank you, you did all the work" and that I did! It's probably my Type A OCD behavior but I could not have him conduct his very first home to home move without me present or this place may not have been unpacked for months! I had every last thing where it needed to be, dinner and dessert made before my head hit the pillow that evening and that's because we started our day with the best coffees and scone. I was only in town for a couple of days and in that short time Switchback was surely one of my fav coffee spots. Hoping to stop in again soon. Service was great and the space has a very calm and welcoming vibe. My sons girlfriend is flying into town this week and I surely hope he brings her here. Exceptional spot.

There seemingly aren't many healthy food options in Colorado Springs so I ended up here because I saw avocado toast on their menu. I also had a cortado. Both the coffee and the avocado toast were good. I will definitely be coming back

Friendly, fast service and great tasting latte and blueberry scone. Second time visiting this location and would come again.

Almost bought these! They looked flaky and delicious!

The service was great! We arrived too late for the avocado toast. The red eye coffee was smooth and delicious. I wish the plants and decor looked like they were loved a bit more! But good energy overall in the place.

This was my first visit here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The coffee was delicious and beautiful. The food was excellent. I'd definitely recommend.

Spacious coffee place that could fit groups of 8 and maybe more. Exquisite coffee though small selection of bakeries

We popped into this little cafe on our way out of town, and we were very pleased with everything. Service was very friendly, and without sounding too off the wall, provided a genuine human connection as we were being served. Truly lovely. We got a couple of drinks to go, a cortado and a latte, and both were sublime. We got a chocolate chip scone and a chocolate croissant, and let me tell you, the lamination on this pastry was exceptional. My husband about lost his mind for the texture and flavor of the scone. We loved every part of this experience. Even the little potted plant by the door had a name- Vine Diesel. Adorable. Thanks for the great experience, we loved it!

They have two locations for Switchback Roasters in Colorado Springs. They're a local coffee company as well. I tried stopping by and hanging out here a month ago but they were closing. Also, they close at 3:00 pm on every day of the week, including weekends, so plan your visit accordingly. This coffee shop has a mellow vibe to it. I love the location. It's another one of those off the beaten path locations which I'm a huge fan of. It's located in a residential neighborhood. The interior is clean with plenty of seating. I love the barter area with six bar stools. It has a nice granite counter top that is wide enough to do work on your laptop, read or write. There is also plenty of natural lighting here. I love all of the bay windows that usher in the natural lighting. I ordered a drip coffee and had it at the bar top. For drip coffee, it's a pay as you can afford purchase. The recommended price is $3.75 for a cup of coffee then it's broken down into smaller increments. I had my coffee black and it tasted very good. I love the taste of the coffee bean. Also, drip coffee is served in a nice ceramic coffee cup. Kudos to them for offering a ceramic coffee cup over the generic paper coffee type cup served at so many places. The music isn't too loud here. Staff is friendly as well. This is a nice spot to hang out, work on your laptop, read or write. The music isn't too loud to interfere with reading. There is plenty of seating here as well. They also serve pastries and some other food items. Also, street parking only. You will need to park on the street. It wasn't a problem to find good street parking within a short walking distance, both times I visited here. Overall, thumbs up from me. I would visit here again. Not sure when I will return but I was impressed with my visit. I especially liked that it wasn't that noisy or too crowded.

Rhubarb Scone-- the best I've ever had!

Giving Switchback Hillside 5 stars for many reasons! One of the main reasons is they do real good cappuccinos-- the best in town! The espresso is strong yet smooth with a great taste and the oat milk is super creamy. Always very well executed. I also love their scones and the variety of breakfast items and snacks they offer. Another major plus is that this might be one of the largest coffee houses in the area-- outside of your corporate starbucks. This place is pretty spacious and there's more than enough seating inside and out on the patio. I've never had a problem finding seating and it's pretty quiet for the most part. I'd say on the weekends like saturday between 9-10am it's the busiest and loudest. I've found people with kids come mostly on the weekends and that disrupts any quiet time or conversations you might want to have with a friend. So if your looking for that specifically, I suggest Monday thru Fridays only. Thanks Switchback Coffee for making the very best coffee drinks in town! I'm your number 1 fan!

This was our first coffee stop during our visit to Colorado Springs. The staff was friendly & brought your drinks/food to you. Plenty of seating inside and outside. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk -- it was good & not too sweet. My husband ordered a drip coffee -- also good & not too bitter. They use a sliding scale/pay what you can mindset for drip coffee which is great for supporting your local community. They have a suggested price of $3 with other options of paying it forward for a little over $4 or indicating you can't pay anything. This helps making a cup of coffee accessible for anyone. The Saturday we were there they had a small donut business pop up which added to the local community atmosphere. Overall great coffee shop!

Baristas were super nice, great to talk to and the service was fast. Atmosphere was great and was perfect for getting a little work done. The location was nice in a pretty area of Colorado Springs. I got the French Toast which was delicious and the vanilla latte was super smooth.

Brandon and his team are incredible. The coffee and avocado toast were exceptional. If you are in Colorado Springs this is a must stop for rest, coffee, and food. The excellence of Switchback Coffee Roasters can be felt when you walk up to the building.

Avocado toast, honey lavender latte, breakfast sandwich, regular black coffee.

Nice place, good food, friendly staff. Prices were competitive. Inside and outside sitting made for a nice ambiance. Avocado Toast, Breakfast Sandwich, Coffee Black, honey lavender latte

Cute, quaint spot downtown!…read more Came here for the first time to meet a friend, who unfortunately canceled last minute, so my visit was short lived. But I enjoyed a coffee anyways! Based on barista Lily's recommendation, I had a small Poker, half caffeinated. I don't normally go for fruitiness in my coffee, but it was very tasty and not overbearing. There were a few tables & couches available, and they have WiFi, so would recommend if you're looking for a place to work. It was quiet, even with a few other business customers stopping in. It looks like they may have been moving stuff around/organizing, as there was a little bit of clutter throughout. I'll end with this - give yourself a few extra minutes to find it. I wish there was more signage because I walked into a few different banks/businesses before I found the shop! Definitely makes me want to try their other locations!

While Starbucks is the classic standby (I went there myself one morning), I urge you to try Humble Coffee. The space is airy, bright, roomy and absolutely beautiful. Instead of a get-in and get-out vibe, there is a calming and relaxing mood here. The perfect spot to read, get some work done or just decompress. Signature coffee drinks, as well as traditional options, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, baked goods and a nice selection of Grab N' Go offerings make this a nice alternative to the usual. While my husband had his usual whole milk latte, I asked the gentleman behind the counter to make a recommendation. He did not steer me wrong. I ordered the Poker, which is a blackberry white chocolate latte. AMAZING! So good, I wished I had ordered two! This really is a cute spot with great drinks and friendly service. Do yourself a favor, and give this place a try. It's always nice to support a small business, especially when they turn out to be so awesome.
