Called Switch Electric to get help with what turned out to be a minor electrical problem in my 89-year-old house (that I just bought and moved into last week). Dwayne picked up the phone and *walked me through troubleshooting and solving my problem for free.* The house is still very new to me and I literally didn't know where my subpanel was in my basement - he patiently stayed on the phone while I found it, walked me through what I needed to do, and now I'm up and running again. If it turns out that this old house needs more in-depth attention from an electrician, he's absolutely gonna be who I call. read more

My Panel was outdated and the main blew out and melted over the weekend called and talked to Dwayne and Joana Monday moring and Dwayne even came out that day. We had a good feeling about calling Switch after seeing a few other reviews and first making the call, and we are so thankful we did. Dwayne is an excellent professional. He arrived just before our scheduled time, did some troubleshooting and quick correcting of our issue, along with replacing two additional switches - all in under 30 minutes! It was refreshing to require a service and be met by someone as trustworthy and efficient as Dwayne. Would absolutely hire again if the need arises. Need an electrician - look no further! read more

Dwayne (Switch Electric) is just one of those true old professional who has been in the business for years and knows exactly what he is doing. He is in and out before you know it. He installed a new dedicated line from my panel box for my refrigerator and new ceiling lights for my kitchen. In and out in 2 1/2 hours. That's what the old pros do. If you need electrical work, give him a call. read more

Dwayne and his colleague installed the electrical set-up for our Hot Tub. He clearly explained options for where he could install the emergency shut-off box in order to meet code so we could pick where we wanted it placed. He was an overall nice guy that was easy to work with and very responsive. I would definitely consider him again for future electrical projects. read more

I wanted to have a ceiling fan installed and so went to Yelp to find a electrician. I saw Switch had 5 stars so called. It was nice to have someone answer the phone instead of getting an answer machine. Got an appointment right away. Tom did an awesome job. Will use Switch Electric again. Thanks. read more

Isaiah replaced a ceiling fan. He worked quickly and expertly. He was friendly explaining what he was doing and answering questions.

I was looking to hire a small family type company to install a 30 amp RV outlet at my home. I found exactly what I was looking for. From the initial call with Joanna, to the free estimate from Duane, to the remarkable service delivered by Ryan (the electrician that did the work)....I can't say enough about how customer oriented they are. When things were running a bit behind for Duane (the 1 hour window for the estimate), I got a call. When he was finally free to head my way, I got a call. All the while, I was never left in the dark. Great communication, great work, great employee(Ryan) that really fits with the family atmosphere of the company. Oh, and very reasonable prices. I will never search again for an electrical contractor. Switch is it. read more

I recently moved to the area and needed to add outlets in 2 bathrooms and install a wifi light switch. The lady who answered the phone (JoAna) was super nice and responded very quickly. The technician (Ryan) arrived promptly, and was very courteous also. The work was done efficiently and professionally. He made sure I was able to connect to the wifi switch and both newly installed outlets were working properly. Switch Electric is now my favorite electrician in the Tahoe area. I will definitely contact them for future electrical needs, and will be singing their praise to all my neighbors! read more

Scheduled an appointment....they called 15 minutes before the appointment time to tell me they couldn't make it today, due to unforeseen delays.... Okay, so you can get to me in the morning...and they said no that I couldn't be scheduled the next morning....So I wasted an entire afternoon waiting on a repairman that didn't show up and then they wouldn't commit to get to me the next morning....so now I could waste another day waiting...or I could call a more reputable company that keeps their word and goes the extra mile when they inconvenience a customer.... This company has very poor customer service and doesn't care if you lose pay to wait for them..... read more

Searched all around for electricians to rewire CAT6 ethernet cables and finally Switch Electric was up to the task. The estimate and work were very professional, though I do wish I was a bit more specific as to how low I was wanting the wires dropped. In the end, I have my whole house now wired via a powered switch in my master closet and couldn't be happier about it for a good price. I'd recommend them. read more

I needed to replace a ceiling fan. I purchased the fan and scheduled installation with a company the store recommended but after waiting all day the company ghosted me. Thus I looked for another company on Yelp. Switch Electric had a better price than the competitors so I scheduled installation with them. We were having an appliance installed at my mom's and we found that there was an electrical issue. We had to delay the installation until we had an electrician come out. I called switch electric and they immediately responded and were able to come out the same day and fix the issue. Dwayne and Joanna were extremely communicative and friendly. As Dwayne was wrapping up I asked how much the charge would be, he just said "Merry Christmas, no charge!l" What a lovely kindness. read more

Very responsive and helpful! I didn't end up needing electrical work done but when I do I am going to use them!

Service was fantastic! I had recessed lights installed in the living room and they are installed exactly how I wanted. I also appreciate how clean Ryan (my installer) kept the area and made it look like he was never there! read more

I hired Switch Electric to wire up some extra 220v outlets for my garage and to hook up a newly purchased hot tub. The electricians were prompt, friendly and efficient. I had to have a lot of conduit put up on the exterior of my house and garage and the electricians made sure to involved me in all the options and decisions to minimize the unsightly appearance of such. It looks fantastic, and very minimal in its overall appearance. Once all the work was completed, I was told by Hot Tub Superstore to video call them for set up. In trying to set up my Hot Tub, we found that the hot tub wouldn't turn on and the hot tub store employee assured me that it couldn't be anything wrong with the hot tub, that it "HAD" to be something wrong with the electrical and that there was "no way it could be the hot tub itself," and he couldn't do anything to help me until that situation was rectified. I called Dwayne (owner of Switch Electric) and he immediately had a technician return to my house. The technician was thorough, and kindly showed me that everything was 100% hooked up properly on their end. He was even so helpful as to video call with the he hot tub employee to show him that there was in fact a problem with the hot tub, and that no electrical issues were present. He even went as far as to try some trouble shooting techniques while on the video call with the hot tub store. The problem with the hot tub was eventually solved by the store, but the customer service I received with Switch Electric was far superior and second to none. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is looking to have electrical work done. Switch Electric went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of as a customer, and I will absolutely be a repeat customer in the future. read more
