We went to The Gypsy Parlor for the first time for open mic night. I love the decor that's like…read morejunk Gypsy, very eclectic, kind of Victorian with cowboy jibes. We sat in the back, not at the bar, and the waitress was still attentive. Usual pub fare on the menu with some twists, bahn mi poutine being one of those. We got fries and chicken wing egg rolls. I will say that the hand cut fries were probably the crispest I've ever had. I usually find hand cut fries soggy, but these were amazing. The drink menu was also eclectic, and they'll make any drink a mocktail, which is good for the DD. Open mic was full of talented weirdos and one excellent duo, so if you're into that scene, check them out!

My Bloody Caesar was perfect with Clamato, a couple of stuffed olives and a large shrimp hanging off the rim. Good menu and I had the pulled pork and sweet potato hash. Nicely seasoned with a fried egg on top. K had the giambotta vegetarian version. We both enjoyed it very much. They had a number of tables going and there is always a few at the bar. The place is a bit eclectic and whoever is doing the kitchen is thoughtful in the preparation and the presentation. This is also a great place to just stop for a drink or two and unwind.

Bartenders were busy but that was expected. The drinks were your typical upscale prices so not much I can say about that. There was lots places to sit and relax or stand with your friends and take in the view. Over all if your celebrating a fun night with your girls or guys this is the place to check out while in Buffalo.

He told us the cover was 5 dollars. I handed him a 50 dollar bill for 6 people and he told me that was not enough. If 6 people cost 5 dollars each, I am certain that should be 30 dollars which would cover 5 people and myself. He was rude to me and and said if I didn't want to pay a cover I should leave. I explained simple times tables circa 4th grade until he let us in with no apology. It's Now 12:40 AM, we have been at the bar for 15 minutes and have gotten zero drinks. We should have stayed at Soho where there is 0 cover and 0 disappointment. Unimpressed by this establishment. To update: It's now 12:55 am and there is no soap in the bathroom whatsoever. Not even a pump bottle. Ew.

The Peer was named as such because men would go and "Peer" at all the cute people dancing (of both…read moregenders). Unfortunately the Peer did not last too long. It closed down not too long after the last time I went there. My friends Patrick and Jules took me here, and it was a fantastic club. The music wasn't as good as at the Coliseum and Continental downtown, but the phenomenal location right by the lake near Tifft on Fuhrmann, where the wind turbines now are, was such a wonderful place for a club in the winter. Unfortunately it was an awful club spot in the winter and cold weather, and since most of the year is freezing up here, that's probably what happened. To the person whose feelings I hurt that used to go here with me, I'm really sorry. I miss you.

Flirting with all the hot guys and waiting for The # 1 football team to show up and party with the Buffalo Bills Team back when Jim Kelly was the Quarterback and the whole team played as a well oiled machine couldn't get any better than this! Was really sad to see this landmark close down with the right owners and business ingenuity this could have stayed open longer and rented out I the winter for different functions. Was so sad to see it close brings back great memories!!!

67 West. I will start by making it known that I do NOT like Chippewa. Nobody will probably believe…read moreme because I'm pretty sure I'm a regular at 67 West. BUT, that being said, I really don't mind this bar. Everyone is so friendly and the two times I have been here I haven't been disappointed. Both times were for a friends birthday, and both times we had a lot of fun. They play great music so it's a good place to dance! We all earned our Footloose badges by checking into here, and also Marcella's, so obviously it's a great dance place! This past weekend I didn't drink at all so I'm not sure if they have pricey drinks or not, but they have quick service and the bartenders don't play favourites. Which is nice. They also have the different red bull flavours! So I had the yellow one to give myself some energy since I wasn't drinking. Their back patio is super nice and very spacious. It got pretty crowded but not overwhelmingly so for a Saturday night which I appreciated. My only complaint is that people can smoke on the front patio-type thing, which, isn't a huge deal, but the entrance is wide open so I often got breezes that smelled like smoke and I hate the smell. It's also not attractive, so yuck. All in all, I won't cringe when people make me go here. It's definitely one of the preferred places on the Chip Strip. X's ad O's! J
