Katie is truly a gem--so loving, patient, and gifted at what she does. My kids look forward to swim lessons every year because of the joyful, confidence-building experience she creates. We kept her swimming as she started swimming competitively on her community summer swim and branched into year round swimming. she learned to be competitive and confident in her strokes-became a regional swimmer at 8 years old! She is now a Division I College athlete in another sport. She feels like the discipline and training she learned at a young age gave her more opportunities to develop as an athlete. She is a lifeguard and coaches summer swim when she is on summer break. I am thankful for the decision we made to start her in a swim class at a young age. It has benefited our family in building a good foundation for our daughter.

It's an okay gym, but there's nothing even close to "luxury" about it. You'd genuinely get better…read moreservice at the YMCA. The women's sauna is constantly broken or smells like sewage, and it's been that way long enough that it's clearly not a priority to fix. They also completely erased a huge part of the club's community when they removed the basketball courts. That space brought people together, and replacing it with indoor pickleball--without asking members--says everything about how decisions are made here. Most of the events are geared toward the senior population, so calling this place an "athletic country club" feels misleading. And the last‑minute changes to heated classes, suddenly moving them outdoors when it's 60 degrees and cloudy, make no sense. It feels like they're sacrificing quality just to squeeze in more bodies. It was heartbreaking to lose the cycle classes as that was the only community I had been able to build there. When the gym is crowded, it's barely usable. I've seen the saunas so packed that people are standing shoulder to shoulder. It's uncomfortable and defeats the purpose entirely. And while most of the staff are friendly, it's hard not to notice that some employees show up smelling like weed, which doesn't exactly match the "premium" image they're trying to sell.

We went…read moreto the Hoover location and we talked to parents that their kids had stayed in level 3 for 5 months and never progressed even though they looked like they should of been in level 4 or level 5. Also they can cancel appointments and not give you your money back. If you dont want to come back for example and you signed up for the buy 5 months and get one free and you say dont want to come back and only did one month and you dont want to get anymore lessons because it isnt adequate for you or they cancel too much, well you cant cancel and get your money back. If you sign up for 5 months and only do one month then youll still pay for 4 months of the lessons even if your not want to get lessons any longer. Just not good business. Also when we signed up I thought that ONLY certified instructors with 40 plus hours were going to instruct the kids, one of our lessons was instructed by someone that wasnt certified and only had 10 hours of training.

I recently tried a beginner aerial yoga class at Aero Joe and overall had a good experience. This…read morewas my first time trying anything like this, so I was a little nervous. The instructions said to arrive early to sign waivers and get settled, so we arrived about 25 minutes before class to change, but no one was there yet and we had to wait about 10 minutes before someone arrived. There is a parking lot on both sides of the building which made parking easy. I would also recommend wearing long sleeves so the silks don't rub under your arms, and avoiding loose fitted clothing and jewelry so nothing snags while you're in the silks. One class was $35, but they also have a deal for 3 classes for $49 which seems like a great option if you plan to go back. Once class started, I really enjoyed it. Rachel was super nice, patient, and helpful, especially for beginners. She did a great job walking us through how to use the silks and made sure everyone felt comfortable. The class was fun, different, and a great introduction to aerial yoga. I would definitely take another class again!
