Good: Plenty of time slots available and makeups are easy if you miss. Instructors show great patience with kids of various ages/skill sets in one class at times (not always the case). They asked for feedback recently and appear to have made appropriate changes based on it. Staff are friendly and helpful, esp the manager. She rocks. Not as good: Kids are not pushed to get better faster. Treading water like that is good for business, but for families, not so much. They have rolled out an initiative to be accountable for this now. Goals for progress are clear, for example. I believe in it. While fit matters, we have had five instructors now (turnover, scheduling) and only the first one (who moved away) and newest one seemed truly focused on helping our child improve at an appropriate pace. They all seem competent and friendly, though. If you need to speak with Park Hill Safesplash, your only option reaches an off-site call center. While they can handle many issues, they lack location-specific insight. If you really need to speak to Park Hill, they will call for you and have Park Hill call you. I'd expect a call center from insurance or cable companies, not a swim school. Prices went up this year. We haven't priced other schools, but it's getting more expensive here (like everything in 2025). Overall, we have been happy with SafeSplash Park Hill. 3.5 stars worth of happy for now.

Our swim coach, Megan, has been fantastic. She is patient, encouraging, and wonderful with kids. We especially appreciate how patient she is with our son on days when he's not as excited about swimming or wants to test boundaries. Megan stays calm, consistent, and keeps realistic expectations while gently following through with directions and the skills they're working on. Her steady and encouraging approach has made such a difference. My husband and I have always been interested in scuba diving, but we didn't take the plunge (see…read morewhat I did there) until early 2025. We're so grateful we got connected with Denver Divers through their adaptive diving program. Even though I've had an interest in scuba diving, I was really nervous to actually try it. I was able to attend a Try Scuba event at Denver Divers, and was immediately hooked (see what I did again). I was paired with an instructor who explained the basics of diving, had time to try out the diving in the pool, and was able to ask questions afterwards. Once we decided to proceed, we were paired with an instructor, Vince, who put as totally at ease about diving. We were given an online training program, in person classes, and two training sessions. I felt comfortable asking questions and learning from my mistakes. I felt super prepared by the time I was getting certified. We ended up taking a group trip and got open water certified in Honduras. I ended up doing 23 dives and built some new core memories. It was wild to see all the different marine life (including a friendly little shark), to see coral up close, and to explore a shipwreck. On top of all of this, we also have started to build our community of divers. All of the instructors are so passionate about diving and really enjoy teaching others how to safely dive. We are looking forward to staying connected and to more future group dive trips.

Coach rod has been patient, kind and pushed him where he could. His progress has been noticeable but more than anything my son just loves coach rod. On the way home after lessons recently he said, "I love coach rod, he always makes sure I'm safe and that I feel safe. Do you think coach rod loves me?" - we've tried all the lessons from Virginia vale to central denver and swimming simply takes the cake! All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Richie has wrapped up for the summer, but I still wanted to leave a review for him…read more Our 7yr old was a struggle bus when learning how to swim. Last summer he also did private swimming lessons (somewhere else), and at the end of it, he did not know how to swim and had spent more time swallowing pool water and getting scared. Initially Richie had our son with one of the other instructors, but when he saw how much difficulty our son was having, he stepped in to help, and by the end of the first lesson our son had made more progress than all the lessons he had last summer. Richie was so patient, and took the time to explain everything (when to hold your breath, how to hold his body, how bouncy works), doing mini experiment with our son in the water to show him how things float. I think our son had about 10 lessons, and now he can swim comfortably on his back, and swim the horizontal length of the pool on his front. And most importantly, he's not scared of the water, and he's not drinking copious amounts of pool water. I know this might not sound like much to some, but to us, knowing how much our son was struggling, this has been a great achievement. I don't think anyone but Richie could've taught our son how to swim. I'm sure the usual methods to teach swimming work with most kids, but our son was not like kids, and Richie met him where he was. We're going to keep practicing swimming on our own, but we're also really crossing our fingers that Richie does lessons next summer too.

I also enjoy the warmer pool with the current where you can walk around. They have all sorts of equipment like pool noodles, weights, and kickboards. The parking lot can get crowded, but I've always been able to find parking when I go in the mornings. My one complaint is that I wish they advertised on their Facebook page if the pool hours are changing, a class is closed, or the pool is closed. I've gone all the way over there and found out that what I was going to do isn't an option that day.

There was a period a while back that the loud blaring of a boombox at the lifeguard's feet occasioned a letter of complaint to the Director (that was never acknowledged) telling him another letter was going to the Mayor if this practice wasn't immediately curtailed for safety reasons, let alone disturbing the peace. Today, a life guard was wearing a black hoodie underneath his Lifeguard sweatshirt, and sweatpants. Think about that for a minute. So, swim at your own risk. The people running the show have demonstrably very little safety concern for the welfare of their swimmers.

My son, 2 1/2, was terrified of putting his head underwater on day 1. By day 3, he was comfortable with Emily and okay with putting his face in the water. Today my son sat at the edge of the pool and carefully DIVED in. Emily is always supportive, kind, patient and has a background in early childhood education. I can't wait to see how my son progresses in the next two weeks of the 6 week Survival Skills session. We are going for 15 minutes, 3 times a week, for private sessions. Highly recommend.
