5 - Swimming to the ledge by himself

AMAZING!!! Ronit helped by 6yr. old overcome his fear of swimming with gentle words of encouragement and reassurance. She worked at his pace and was very patient. Though he wasn't liking it the first few days, he was overjoyed by Day 5! Even asked to come back! He was jumping into the deep end and swimming by himself to the ledge. We were all so proud (yup, I teared up). It was unbelievable! She has a screened-in private pool that's warmed up. There's space for the parents to sit and watch. It was very relaxing and quiet, easy for the kids to not get distracted and listen to the teacher's instructions. I'm already planning to book another class with my youngest, a 3yr. old.

First I signed for a Private Lesson and he videotaped me while swimming to show areas where I can improve. Then he showed me techniques to have a more fluid movement to help me become a more efficient swimmer. I thought it was very valuable. I also joined his TriSwim team in Davie where I swim together with a team of triathletes looking to improve their swim skills. He provides challenging workouts to help improve freestyle swimming and overall performance. This is different from a masters swim groups since it focuses on triathlete skills. Last weekend I joined the Open Water class in Fort Lauderdale beach. Gary and his team provided specific tips for open water triathlon swimming, from sighting to turning, very useful. I strongly recommend Gary for any triathlete that is looking to improve his swimming skills, as he is very knowledgeable and passionate about this field.

There is one word to sum up this company: incompetence!…read more I should have read the reviews before taking my son here. To begin with, the facility at 2084 University Drive-where the little ones are assigned to-is decrepit, out of maintenance, and smells like mold inside. Despite this, I gave it a chance. However, this location is literally run by teenagers with no supervision, including the instructors, The instructor my son had took her bad mood on him, almost let him drown because she was frustrated with him and then scolded him for about five minutes non-stop because he was moving his legs kicking while sitting at the edge of the pool waiting for his turn. To put things in context, my son is 3 years old. When it was his turn, she let him swim back to the edge-as they always do, and when she realized he wasn't making it and visibly swallowing water, she did NOTHING. Yes, you read correctly, she did nothing until I stood up (I was inside looking through the glass) then she proceeded to help him. When the class ended, instead of letting him have his five minutes of play time as usual, she decided to scold him because he was previously kicking. I approached her and she said, "why is he not responding"? "He can't talk"? And I explained to her that he actually has a speech delay and he won't respond when he gets nervous which he obviously was. She continued scolding him which made me think she might have had a hearing problem at this point of she was so fixated on taking her bad mood on him that she didn't care what i told her that he wouldn't respond to her. Needless to say, after this class I wanted to cancel his membership. I called several times to no avail until I was able to reach an employee. She apologized for what happened and told me she had canceled his membership and I had nothing to worry about. To my surprise, a week later they charged me $200.00 as if I had never canceled. I started calling again and spoke with several people who couldn't find the notes in the system according to them. Then I spoke with one of the owners, Nicole, and she told me that corporate wouldn't refund the money to her so she would not refund the money to me, because whoever had canceled it when I called didn't do it right. So not only I had to see how my son was mistreated by a stranger but then I had to gift the company $200.00 for classes which I will NEVER USE because they don't know how to train their employees, not only the instructors but also the employees who deal with billing. Nicole said that I should stay because they are doing so many changes, great start Nicole, ripping off clients is good for a change. Disappointment is an understatement. Do not trust your children to these inefficient people nor trust them with your credit card unless you want to be scammed!

He is an exceptional asset to the club. He thoroughly explained the membership offerings and facilities, and thoughtfully matched us with trainers and classes aligned with our goals. He has consistently served as a supportive and reliable point of contact. I joined in September 2025 after more than a decade without regular exercise and was completely out of shape. My husband, while naturally active, had never worked out in a gym environment. Based on our medical needs and age--both of us in our 50s--Aaron recommended we train with Matthew Rossello. Matthew is an extraordinary trainer: highly knowledgeable, upbeat, energetic, and genuinely invested in our well-being and progress. Each session is unique, engaging, and tailored to our needs. On days when I feel unmotivated, knowing that Matthew will make the workout both enjoyable and rewarding is what gets me through the door. In just four months, both my husband and I have made progress we never imagined possible. Aaron also recommended Pia's indoor cycling classes, and she has been fantastic. Pia is incredibly entertaining, curates great music, and designs classes that are dynamic and motivating. Her sessions incorporate a variety of movements and speeds, and even include a brief meditation. I truly look forward to her classes--something I never expected to say about cycling! We have also come to enjoy yoga classes with Angela. She brings a calming, mindful approach that helps relax both body and mind, while offering stretches that leave us feeling renewed. The club overall is excellent. The facilities are comprehensive and consistently clean, and the food is outstanding. My only suggestions would be to address maintenance needs in the showers and consider enlarging the sauna--along with adding a more visible clock. Despite these minor points, our experience at Midtown has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to being members for many years to come.
