They did an EKG and he went over the results. Great news everything looks great!.. I'll be changing and eliminating one prescription and will do a recheck in three months..

The nurse practitioners are knowledgeable but if you have a non-standard case then it can be frustrating to try and convey what is happening, especially if they're not familiar with specific/certain cardiac conditions. If your issue is minimal or more of a textbook diagnosis then you can probably see an NP in 1-2 months but the cardiologist/EP appointment scheduling windows are at least the 3-4 months out mentioned earlier. Highly recommended for most non-urgent cases. The receptionists/office staff sometime seem overwhelmed but it's understandable due to the uptick in patients from Reno's recent population boom.

I heard the ads over and over again for USA vein clinics so, I decided to set up my consultation. When I arrived, I was 20 minutes early, I was in the waiting room for 5 to 10 minutes before any one came out and noticed I was there. I was checked in and taken to a room for questions. The assistant that asked all of the questions was very nice. She then told me that they were running a little behind on the ultrasounds, so it would be a short wait. I waited 45 minutes before I was called into another room to put on paper socks. Then I waited for another 10 minutes before the doctor came in. He asked why I was there, even though my left leg was clearly showing and all of varicose and spider veins were obvious. He told me I would have to wear compression stockings for the rest of my life or any procedure would continue to fail. His exact words were "you would need to be buried in them". He then said he was going sneeze, and sneezed directly into his hand and wiped it on his shirt. I asked what was causing these veins, why it was failing after I'd had them fixed the first time. All he said was you have a faulty valve. Then the sonogram technician came and brought me to another room. She was the ONLY person that had any sort of bedside manner and seemed to know what she was doing and talking about. It took about half an hour to do the ultrasound. She seemed caring and compassionate and understood my frustration. ​ I then had to go back into the other room and wait again for 10 more minutes. The doctor came in, and asked me what leg I was having issues with. I told him again that it was my left leg. He asked me again if I'd already had treatment done on that leg. I told him again, yes. He did not go over the sonogram/ultrasound results. Instead he said my insurance would cover a single injection of foam into only one of the veins. Then he looked at his iPad and AGAIN asked me which leg it was and AGAIN I told him it was my left leg, and he asked me AGAIN if I've had prior treatment. 3 times this doctor asked me the same question. Then he went on to try and talk me into this one shot of foam in my leg. I told him I'd like to talk to my husband and think about it and he proceeded to tell me there's nothing to think about, that it's a no brainer, and that if I was his family he would tell me to just do it. I told him again that I wanted to think about it and then I left. In total, I spent 2.5 hours there, most of it waiting, just to be told they would only do one injection into one vein, but that ultimately it would fail.

When I arrived the entire place smelt like food, and they had a messy table covered with food and other personal belongings, right off to the side. While being interviewed about my symptoms, the woman recording my information nonchalantly informed me that she changed a few of my answers, in order to make it more likely for insurance to cover the procedure. Didn't even ask, just informed. After 20 minutes of this, I was give. Paper shorts and told to change for the ultrasound. There was a long window beside the door, and they didn't even close that curtain, to give me actual privacy. The ultrasound tech was a chatty woman, who seemed nice enough, but it took an HOUR for her to scan my legs. 2/3rds of the way i to the scan, the doctor comes in, joking with her/me? About how he was "going to kill her" for bringing back the wrong food item for lunch. He seemed like he was trying to joke, and she joked back... but it felt super awkward and uncomfortable for me, as I just wanted to GET OUT OF THERE. I was finally released from the scan, and left to walk back to the exam room basically dripping with the ultrasound jelly, all the wah up to my underwear. It was gross, I felt gross, and while I was given wipes to get it off, they barely made a dent. I went through all of this, only yo be informed that insurance would inly cover two small areas, that didn't even bother me.... And not the GIANT obvious varicose veins that cause me so much pain!! I feel like the hour plus long ultrasound exam was faulty, and did not trust the results at all. He also failed to go over any potential negative outcomes until I specifically asked. He seemed more invested in his smoothy, than fully explaining the situation and plan of action to me. I escaped, claiming that I would call back later to schedule anything... but I felt like I dodged a medical bullet by not allowing them to treat me. I did a quick search on the doctor when I got home, and could not find references to actual training in veins anywhere? I could only find info about him being a general surgeon in a Las Vegas emergency room. Similar to how anyone can refer to themselves as a cosmetic surgeon, It felt lime this clinic was a franchise money grab. I would do my homework and truly think twice before using this facility.

The building is shared by multiple offices, so the parking lot is always busy but most of the time it's pretty easy to find a space near the entrance. When I checked in their office, there was only one other person waiting in the waiting room and Dr. Tomcho's assistant called me into the exam room almost immediately, it took me a little by surprise because I even arrived early for my appointment. The office is always orderly and neat; the atmosphere is relaxed and his staff is always super-nice and professional, they make my visit comfortable and puts me at ease.

Because of my fistula needed for dialysis, I had lost blood flow to my hand and had developed wounds that were painful, growing, and looking necrotic. A wound doctor said nothing could be done until i had addressed the vascular issue. The wounds were bad and completely ruining my life! As soon as Dr. Albright met me she was so caring and concerned, I finally felt heard! The office was so great and worked to schedule me for a surgery sooner rather than later, I saw her for surgery only 5 days after my first appointment. Dr. Albright is amazing in general, she kept my husband up to date on the surgery and was also completely honest about the fact it wasn't a foolproof surgery. I ended up needed a other couple procedures and surgeries, but because of her, I was able to regain blood flow to my hand which allowed my wounds to clear and heal up after months of pain. The entire office has been amazing to me from front desk, to scheduling, to medical assistants and of course, Dr. Albright. I trust her completely and believe she has tons of experience and desire to do the best job possible. With my surgeries, which were obviously delicate, she ended up doubling the operating time because she redid the job to ensure there wouldn't be failure. I'll sing praises forever for this office and Dr. Albrights care. If you need help vascularly, I highly recommend this office over one down by Saint Mary's. Its staffed, it has knowledgeable team members and you'll feel taken care of with everyone's gentle, caring demeanor.

I can't recall the doctor's name anymore but he was a older gentleman, I believe working part time in semi-retirement. Anyway his bedside manner was exceptional and I was very much at ease. The procedure was not all that unpleasant, although; not particularly pleasant either lol. Nevertheless it needed to be done and I'm just tough enough to handle some needle pokes. Afterwards, for about a month every time, you could see the bruises where the ugly veins used to be but that was anticipated. I knew the bruises would go away from the consultation and they eventually did. I went there three times that year and can now say, after 5+ years that it was worth every penny. My legs still look fantastic thanks to RVC!

It's very frustrating to have made so many attempts to cancel in advance and still not receive a response. I don't think it's fair to be charged for an appointment I've repeatedly tried to cancel and left several messages about.

If you go to their website to try to schedule an appointment, EVERY attempt ends with, "we have no providers, please call...." so you're stuck once again. I have three referrals from the VA to this place. I'm going to cancel all three and go elsewhere.

Last July 2025 I fell down my stairs and broke my left hip, I had to go to the emergency room and a doctor over at Swift Institute was on the Emergency side of it, and replaced my hip with a few screws. Well, the screws were coming out as I walked, so I saw Dr. Winkle back at great basin, and he said you're gonna have to have your hip totally replaced, as the screws are poking out.! I ended up in the hospital a few days after surgery with a stomach problem, and he actually came by to see me, and it had nothing to do with my hip, he just wanted to make sure I was OK! Absolutely incredible Dr, I highly recommend him and any doctor at Great Basin Orthopedics! The best! I needed a nausea medicine, and unbeknownst to Dr. Winkle the medicine he gave me for nausea also helped the stomach problem I was having so I could eat again, no other doctor has ever prescribed that medicine for me and I get these stomach issues a lot, we were really impressed!
