It's not just a dog park in the winter time, but also an ice skating rink!

This is a great park for larger sized dogs. The park is separated by a sign that states the smaller side park is for dogs under 20 lbs. The side for the bigger dogs is of course larger in size and we have taken our pup on that side when a majority of the dogs there are smaller or when there's not very many other pups. I've met other dog owners that have told me some horror stories about a couple dogs getting in fights and/or dying due to crashing into each other from high running speeds, so it's definitely a good thing to have your dog trained to come to you as soon as your call your pet over. One of the downside to the park is, what another yelper has stated, the snow removal is pretty bad. I've gone a few times where I've slipped (not fallen, thanks to the fence). Definitely be careful and take baby steps during the snowy days. Both sides also have water bowls for dogs to share and people usually bring water to fill up the bowls. There are also trash cans and poop bags (filled most of the time) throughout both sides, which is a plus.

Dirty doggies! They had a blast!

Swift Run is a perfect name for this dog park because there is PLENTY of room for the dogs to just run run run! This is one of the largest and most open dog parks I have been to, though it lacks the fancy dog "jungle gyms" of some other dog parks in more dog-friendly (and higher tax paying) cities. A few trees and a few benches but mostly just open grassy areas for dogs to run and play. I mostly enjoy the path around the perimeter of the park that allows me to walk around while all the dogs run to their heart's content. There are quite a few trash stations strategically placed with a supply of bags for easy cleanup. There are also separate areas for small dogs and large dogs. Since the park is so open it is quite exposed to the elements. I wouldn't advise going on a day that was too hot/rainy/snowy/etc.. Check out the pictures! I've uploaded one of my dog and a friend's dog having a wonderful time rolling in a huge mud puddle after a particularly rainy week. If you don't mind a dirty dog it sure makes them happy to romp around in the mess!

Very large area for under and over 20 pound dogs. Clean and lots of room to run and play.

Went to this park for the first time on Sunday after getting my dog licensed and purchasing the required annual dog park use permit. This was the most fun dog park experience ever! I've taken my dog to the free dog park in Saline but the problem we kept running into was there were never any other dogs there which made it quite boring. I went to Swift Run on Sunday around 4:30 PM and there were probably 20 dogs running around. Everyone there was very friendly and I loved being able to see all the different breeds. I also appreciated how watchful everyone was. I understand there is a certain level of risk your taking when introducing a group of dogs but I never felt nervous. A few times one dog started to play a little too rough and the owner immediately put him in a time out for a few minutes. Definitely going back again soon!

During the summer it can get very hot because there isn't much shade, but there are lots of water bowls for the pups (bring water to share).

I was pretty hesitant about taking…read moremy pup to the dog park at first because it seems like you always hear bad things about them. We didn't have a fenced in yard and my pup just needed somewhere to run. City requirements made me so much more comfortable with the other dogs in the park, knowing that they were also vaccinated and registered. The secured entry ensures that not just any dog off the street can wander in. The other dog owners are friendly and responsible. Everyone keeps a close eye on their pet to ensure that play doesn't get too rough and poo is picked up. If someone misses their dog pooing, other folks will either help find the 'land mine' or often pick it up for them. There are multiple water bowls and a faucet with fresh water to fill them up at (which owners take turns doing regularly). There are two separate play spaces, one that's ~four acres and another that's for small dogs under 22lbs. The facility contains several benches and waste receptacles with free dog waste bags. The many "regulars" at this park form an awesome community. Everyone chips in to keep the park in tip top shape, owners know almost all of the others dogs' names, watch out for each other's pets and share both funny stories and useful info that can only come from another dog lover. There's even a playground outside of the park for the kiddos - dog park outings are fun and active for our whole family!

Good size with two areas, one for small dogs and the other for all dogs. Bowls and water is available, even a port o john for people. Only wish there was more trees within the dog area because shade makes for happier dogs and humans. So far all dog people seem kind, professional and aware of surroundings. Great job FH, all cities should have dog parks!

The dogs are not taken to a dog park as stated, instead driven miles out of town to a so called farm per their website at fastfido.dog which is in fact an open exposed field with little to no shelter located out of town with no farm in sight, just an empty field of freezing mud and icy slush, no pet owner would ever subject their pets to. No responsible pet owner wants their dog running around in freezing field knee deep in ice exposed for hours to freezing winter weather, that's why real dogie day care locations offer climate-controlled environments. If you care for your pet don't let some uncaring opportunist just dump your dog into an open icy field in 10 degree weather for hours while he sits in a warm van ignoring them while collecting your money. This concept may work in Florida with nice weather but doesn't work in Michigan.

After just a few days I quickly realized that it was not the right fit for my dogs. I was really distressed after seeing how my dogs were treated in the daycare and was so relieved when I found this service. The owner was very accommodating to our hectic schedules and was able to meet up with us during evening hours to meet the dogs. We really appreciated that he was flexible with texting (it's hard for me to call due to my job), and that he offered better pricing than the daycare. He also offered discounts for our second dog, which the daycares in the area didn't usually honor if we were buying packages. When we met the owner he seemed to be very knowledgeable about dogs, training and was a pleasant guy. He was also very understanding and patient with the questions I had - I'm very protective of my dogs, and he seemed more than happy to answer all the questions I had. Our dogs are both full of energy and have seemed to really love going to the farm to run around. We have a doggy cam at home and we see how happy they are to see the owner come get them and how exhausted they are when they get home. We got a video this week and the pups seemed happy to be in a more natural environment with lots of area to run (as opposed to the concrete "cell" that was offered at the daycare). I think if you would love to have your dogs run around and have some freedom with a small group of dogs this would be a great fit for you. They are out of the house for just the right amount of time and with someone that I feel is very trustworthy.

I took time to walk along the path from the parking lot, past the soccer fields toward Turtle Pond. You'll need to walk about 0.5 miles to see the pond, but it's a lovely respite and seems dog-friendly. One downside is the proximity of I-94 which means that you'll hear the background noise of cars and trucks in the distance. It's not super-loud, but noticeable if you had expected a serene walk. Another downside is that the trail does not have clear signs or color stripes - but you can figure out the main route by using the pond as your guide. Would recommend folks staying in the hotels on the south side of Ann Arbor to give this park a try - it was really nice for jogging or a long walk.
