I do not recommend Honda in Gladstone, especially the management team\. The customer service and communication were extremely disappointing\. I felt like they did not make a real effort to help, find solutions, or communicate honestly\. I even had to contact the financial institution myself and was told they had not received any communication from Honda, which was very frustrating\. Even some employees seem to see how customers are treated but have limited ability to help\. Customers deserve honesty, respect, and a team that truly cares\. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.... Pros and Cons. 0 stars for this location but only rating is for Jaylee's help. This place is YIKES, did not see these reviews before we came but now it makes sense. Not sure if they went through a firing and rehiring or not but it was an experience. I made an appointment online 2 actually, one to see a car and one to do a trade in for my vehicle. Never heard from anyone... Showed up for our appointment and no one came to help or assist us. We just walked around and stood like some dumb dumbs. Finally I shout for help and someone came out, he asked "did you have an appointment with us?" 1.) yes obviously I did but what would they know since no one responded to me or reached out? 2.) if I didn't have an appointment were they still going to just stand in the huddle room and ignore us??? They went to grab someone to help us and then said the guy who was supposed to help us was with someone else .... Okay???? We already felt like leaving at this point but so desperately wanted to leave with a car we wanted. Weird situation. We test drove the car etc etc we sit down to deal with our Sales Woman, Jaylee. She was very sweet and funny she made us feel better about staying. She made the whole experience better and we were happy to buy a car from her. Go check her out! So the deal is going well, it starts getting later and the entire store left. I mean it was just our sales person and the Finance guy... ghost town!! We finished our paperwork and the finance guy was interesting... he was new so he wasn't the guy I read about in all these prior reviews. He was so nice! Until.... Until we would not buy the warranties he wanted us too. We kept saying no thanks, no thank you, thank you but no... and his whole attitude switched up after that. He was annoyed and frustrated and kept saying we were making a dumb or crazy decision not to add on those things. It made the experience sooo weird after that. We couldn't sign papers fast enough to leave. 1.) if we said no, that means no right? 2.) if the car is SO HORRIBLE that you need to force us to buy maintenance packages, there's a problem with the car then right? Cheaper than Ron Tonkin, Dick Hannah, not shady like Beaverton (who knows what sorry sack owns that) & reasonably fast. Other reviews low avg kinda surprise me, but maybe can understand after gf's past lame sales experience. Oh well, I've only gotten good service (never sales); today they even didn't charge for non-basic diagnostics, after I chose no service based on diagnosis (almost their advice also)! I leased 2 cars and traded in another from this location. rhey filled out paperwork with Honda financial. however, since I drive off the lot both Honda financial online and their incessant harassing calls have not been able to arrive in the same page. I've called several times and they first said the people calling were probably scams. then after asking their help they said to call the scammers and talk to them. didn't give me a number that I could speak directly and left me in my own to be screwed over by scammers and still get my credit dinged without any help. if you do choose this place, don't leave until you are assured things are set and stable as they won't help you at all once you leave. disappointed and upset. read more

Jaden who sold me my car back on 3/7/26 was so helpful but my experience with the finance manager Zach has not been great. I'm very understanding and understanding. Mistakes happen. First thing was that the paperwork was missing signatures a weeks after I had gotten my new crv. Fine, no worries I'll come in again and sign. Came back in a day after that phone call to resign. Waited 30 minutes until Zach came out to tell me the paperwork was not ready and they would call me to come back when it was and fill my tank with gas. No worries, after a week of not hearing anything I called and then was told the paperwork was ready. Signed the paperwork, gas was not filled but went about my day. A week after that I was told that the paperwork was missing signatures again and I would need to come back. I was a little annoyed but again, mistakes happen. I came back to resign paperwork and they did fill my car with gas. At this point it has been almost been 3 weeks of having my new vehicle. My old lease payment was due on 20th of each month, I was told since Honda finacial has not received payoff yet that I need to pay my old car payment to avoid penalty and I would be refunded once the payoff quote was received. That means I was paying 2 car payments that month. Fast forward to April 7th, it has now been over a month that I traded my civic in- $297 I paid for a car I don't have and to top it off my civic was still in my name and not paid off. I called Honda financial and they told me that they did not have a payoff from the dealership. Weird, now I'm very annoyed. I called the finance guy Zach and he told me that they did send payoff and they have no idea why they would say that and he would get to the bottom of it.. okay, 3 days later I check and on April 7th, right after I called coincidentally the pay off was posted. Fast forward to April 21st I receive my refund check from the additional payment I made on a car I did not have and it was only for $200?! I called Honda financial and they told me due to the dealership paying off my car 30 days after my pay off quote, interest was incurred and I would need to get a refund from the dealership. I emailed the finance manager and did not get a response but received a call from Zach a day later saying he would get my refund asap. Fast forward to two weeks later and no check in the mail. I call again to see where my check is, I was told Zach was not in office but I left my name and contact info and he would call me back asap. A few days go by and nothing. I call back, talk to someone who says he was in a middle of deal but promised me he would call back that day and would make sure of it. No call back. I call the next day - which was last FRIDAY and was told he was there and would pick up the phone. After 5 minutes of waiting I was then told he was not there and that Zach said they were waiting on corporate to approve my refund????? And it would take about a week. Well someone is lying because I was told on 4/21 that I would get a refund check in the mail. Now it has been 1 week and I call again to check what's happening. I was told Zach was not in today and I could talk to a different finance guy and instead of being transferred to someone else, I was transferred to Zach voice mail box. I'm extremely upset, I have been given the run around this whole 2 months and on top of that the finance guy Zach is dogging my calls and there has been 0 communication. Other after reading other comments, clearly the guy named Zack needs to be fired because when I was there, I had a great experience with someone else. Everyone there was very nice to me, even though I showed up crying, needing a new car and not really knowing how to buy one without being taken advantage of.. I never once felt manipulated and I have since paid off that car and they really helped me out a lot. They were very helpful and respectful. The sales guy was great. The finance lady was great. Y'all need to get rid of the guy named Zack. Other people seem pretty upset about that. Every time I went to get my car service they were great. The only complaint I would have is that they did not help me with warranty issues on a brand new car that should've been great. It was making all kinds of weird rattling noises in the plastic. It was kind of annoying to drive I had to figure out a weird way to fix this myself. That shouldn't be the case for a brand new car.... But that's just a few people being lazy. You should probably get rid of those ones too. Otherwise, this place was great. Before them, I had a really bad experience buying a car. I was severely manipulated because I didn't know what I was doing. I was way too young to understand. After that car was paid off and totaled sadly, I bought a car down in Texas, where I had the most horrific experience with classic Honda of Midland. The noise was addressed and fixed--temporarily. A few days later, the exact same noise returned. I also noticed there are clips missing under the engine bay, so I'm not sure who claimed they were all replaced. Clearly, the issue wasn't resolved. The last update I received was that your team removed the skid plate and said the noise went away. Based on that, I took the vehicle home and did the same thing--only to find out the noise was still there. I may not be a certified mechanic, but I know enough to do a break job myself.. That's why I declined the $800+ brake job--I can do that work myself for a fraction of the cost. Eventually, I took my car to a trusted mechanic who told me the sway bar links your team installed were in poor condition and should've been replaced again. I ended up purchasing quality sway bar links and installing them myself. And just like that--the noise was gone. Anyway, thanks for the effort, but I had to take matters into my own hands to actually fix the issue. read more

I came in looking for a Tesla Model Y Long Range and was upfront about two things: my budget ($25K-$26K) and that I had a trade-in. I asked the team to help make the numbers work, they gave me an okay trade-in value but wouldn't move at all on the car price, which was listed at $29K. They still had me run a credit check, even though it became clear they weren't going to meet me where I needed to be. I was working with a junior rep who was nice but didn't seem empowered to actually negotiate. What really crossed the line: the car was advertised and sold to me as a Long Range Model Y, and it wasn't. I only discovered that after the deal was done. I did purchase a vehicle from swickard honda on 2/27/25. The vehicle is nice, that is why they get a couple stars. Unfortunately, they were not transparent with there pricing. Repeatedly said "no" to the northwest 360 shield protection warranty. Than was told that this option was already on the vehicle and that I would have to pay additional for it (apparently it comes on ALL of there cars). They came back with "the best we can do is x amount off the warranty" to be out the door. The first bullet of the 360 shield contract states that it is optional. They took me for an extra $1000 for something that I made CLEAR I did NOT want. This really could have been a positive experience but it wasn't. Made an appointment to have a fuel smell in the cabin looks into since they replaced the fuel tank before due to issues (car is a 2018 with 31K miles currently). Arrived for scheduled appointment and was told I would have to possibly pay $185 for diagnostics because warranty may cover but "the people in the shop need to be paid" in case not covered. Would not provide number to call warranty services. Apparently car owners are expected to pay service employees even if why you are there is possibly due to a manufacturer flaw or faulty repair. Was then told that there were lots of cars ahead of me and they would try to have it completed by end of day (Friday) or by end of day Monday at the latest. I had a set appointment time. Was not prepared at all to try to plan to be without a vehicle with such short notice & considering I made an appointment. What's the point of scheduling if they don't honor an appointment?!? Would possibly waiting until Monday to see your doctor or to get your hair done be appropriate because walk ins showed up when your appointment was Friday at 11:30am? Seriously shocked at the lack of service and how they tried to screw Honda owners over to pay their employees for possibly poor manufacturing of the fuel tank since it was bad prior (when basically new). Also, not respecting why busy people/professionals actually schedule appointments. Contacting Honda Corporate was fairly easy to open a claim if they attempt the same poor service to others. read more

Watch out for your vehicles 'adaptive assist functions' to get disabled due to an update that was needed on the camera system. This update impacted my use of cruise control, lane merge, adaptive lane assist and probably some others. My issue is not that an update was needed, but I was charged $189 for diagnostics and the update, which should have been a safety call. If this update was significant enough to disable my car and required an update to remedy this issue, that's a safety service call and should be complimentary. If this software update was not a safety concern, it should have been held off until my service interval was due. Who says manufacturers can't have more than one service update, then you are charged twice. If they are months apart, say three, is this considered an. Update related to the first update? I'm sure this is standard across the board, but Swickard Honda, this wasn't an immediate need, yet I was charged for something that should have been complimentary, as you want the best for your customer, right? Andrew Grimes, my awesome salesman, and very true to his word, made a comment when I was buying my first brand new vehicle here, you want to do what's right for the customer to keep them coming back, and their families too. When I heard him say that, that stood out. Andrew is a great, honest and true salesman, and handles the sale at the customer level. It's unfortunate Swickard Honda specifically doesn't want to listen to reason. It's not about the $189 charge, it's entirely about a service call vs safety call. Took it to 3 mechanics to get diagnosed. All 3 said the same thing. It was a catalytic converter failure. They cut the muffler and put in a shitty used one that failed immediately. They will literally present you with fake paperwork to scam you. Now I have to pay $1,500 to fix their lie. Shame on them. read more

The entire time we lived in Portland (2 years) we had our Hondas serviced here. Service department has always been really reliable and always has great communication. They call when they say they will, the work is almost always done when they say it will be (and the few times it wasn't, we were told ASAP why there was a delay and a new ETA). Had a Factory Recall that needed address. When I called to schedule the person I spoke to told me it would be weeks before I could be scheduled for the repair. I dropped the car off using the Night Drop, my actual appointment was for 10 which should have provided additional time. Not a single phone call and I had to call to track down the status of my repair, VERY unprofessional. I had a friend pick it up since I no longer had a ride because it was late afternoon and someone told him my vehicle needed a laundry list of repairs WITHOUT CONTACTING ME, the owner. It was beyond sloppy in how things were mishandled. Wrote a Google review that was honest and someone from Swickard added a comment that I would be contacted...that's weeks ago, my appointment was on the 1st and it's been nothing but crickets. Poor Customer Service is hideous but this was a nightmare. Dash lights are now coming on that weren't before the repair, sloppy and inexcusable. Swickard excels at one thing ... INEPTITUDE. They add on "dealer installed" items and refuse to remove them when you say you do not want them. The salesperson, Cruz, had no idea what he was doing and didn't even know what many of the things on the car were for. We went in knowing what we wanted and we were going to walk out with a pretty expensive car, but their lies and underhanded behavior reminded me of the slimy dealers you see stereotyped in movies. Getting a oil change with a 2 year old is difficult! I was pleasantly surprised with Swickard Honda's customer service. First off: My service/oil change took less than a hour. The employee was helpful and informed me about their "kids room". The room was the perfect size for my daughter to play with some toys while I waited. I've been getting oil changes there since I bought my car there, a few years ago. Went in for an oil change on Friday. I asked them to replace my headlights as well, because one is out. I was told an oil change would take about an hour. After waiting for two and a half hours, they came out and told I had a bolt missing from my brakes. And since I have "after market" brakes, they need a special bolt that wouldn't be ready until tomorrow. They mentioned about three times that they don't carry this specific bolt. Their staff informed me that I might have additional cost of labor for this bolt replacement. Additionally, they couldn't let me drive my car as it posed a safety risk, implying that I should be thanking them for noticing. They offered me a shuttle so I could get a ride home or to wherever I was going. I said that's not going to work because I needed to pick up my child and get to my office. So they did offer me a courtesy vehicle. Three hours after arrival, we were finally able to get off the lot with a rental vehicle. I have no idea how a bolt would mysteriously disappear. I had both sets of brakes replaced as Les Schwab, and have since had other oil changes, tire rotations and brake checks, at Swickard Honda. No one has never mentioned a missing bolt. I've not touched the brakes nor removed any tires or parts. Another weird and frustrating part of the day was that while we had been waiting for my car to be done, my spouse called Les Schwab to see if they had any idea what could have happened. Their manager immediately stepped into action and drove to our location. He had the "missing" bolt in hand. He drove from their location in Happy Valley so by the time he arrived to Honda, I was already on my way to pick up my child. The Les Schwab manager called me back and said that when he got there, he was told that Swickard Honda does, indeed, have bolts. I must say that Les Schwab service is outstanding. After over an additional hour after leaving the Honda service, they finally called to tell me my car was ready. By then I was at work so I couldn't get away. So the next morning, I retrieved my car. They never did replace my headlights, as I had requested. Also, my tire pressure gauge indicator was on when I got my car back. Perhaps I should have learned my lesson from the last oil change I got there, when they didn't attach the oil pan guard properly and we had to return it the same day to have it fixed. After taking my car there for years, I think the service has just gone downhill and we're going to take our business elsewhere from here on out. read more

Complete scam artists, I drop my car off for a tire repair and they tell me that it cannot be repaired. They then tell me the tire will be $400 I asked for a cheaper tire the guy very rudely told me "well you can go to discount tire" trying to put me down for not wanting to spend $400 for a single tire when they are basically brand new. I needed a key cut and programmed. I called to ask about pricing and process. When I showed up Jade rudely, without remorse, informed me they would not cut a key that was not purchased from them. Never was this mentioned in the phone call. The keys Swickard provides are highly marked up. Although the keys I have were purchased from a certified Honda retailer, they refused to cut and program the keys. The reason Jade provided was the keys damage their machines and occasionally the programming doesn't work. Sounds like incompetence and scamming. I wasted over an hour of my time driving 40 miles for nothing. I'm glad I did not purchase my new Honda from Swickard, its always a hastle with them. Where do I begin?.... It's been many years since I have been so upset with a car dealer where do I begin? The experience from start to finish was ALMOST! flawless. I arrived at Swickard Honda this morning around 11 AM walked into the dealer masked up and ready to make a purchase. Not a deal a "purchase" Very nice young sales woman by the name of Kylee r. Kylee was Absolutely professional in every way She accompanied me on a test drive not really needing to test drive the vehicle because I have driven so many of them but when I arrived at the dealership the battery in the car was dead so management insisted that I drove the car to recharge the battery "new 2022 Honda Pilot" elite model. We returned to the dealership and the paperwork process was easy. Completed the credit app, bureau came back no surprise my credit was literally stellar, feeling confident I was ready to pay MSRP for this beautiful Honda Pilot didn't feel any reason to dicker that was what I wanted and that was what I was going to purchase. Then suddenly the deal was turned over to the most sleazy salesman I've ever seen in my entire life came out slaps build a sheet on the table and starts telling me that I need to purchase all the additional extra equipment at this point I'm like WTF. Is he seriously trying to milk me, keep in mind I've already agreed to pay MSRP I already like the car credits already been pulled, some paperwork signed, ready to purchase this car. He goes down the list on his build sheet and shows me what they had intended on giving me for my 2021 Toyota 4Runner SR5 premium with less than 12k miles. I originally wanted 45k they were willing to give me 40k. Which was a complete slap in the face on a nearly mint Toyota after doing some research prior to my arrival at the dealership I found low trade-in from Kelley Blue Book to be around 45k and that was the number I had my head that I would not go below. I kindly rejected the $40,000 offer and reminded sleazeball that I was paying MSRP I wanted a fair price for my trade. I came off of 45K and looked at sleazeball and said 42k you got a deal he looked at me and said no! Not even willing to give me a little extra knowing that I was paying MSRP I found myself making a deal with the biggest con artist in Milwaukie. Sleazeball ruined Kylee's deal. Pissed off I walked out, best advice to anybody looking to purchase at this dealership don't get all the way through the paperwork and then let them give you a trade amount, get a trade amount from the very beginning! Ron Tonkin Honda offered us 44K on trade-in on a 2022 pilot black edition that's where we're headed. As far as sleazeball hopefully he gets fired soon. He's sure not gonna do Swickard any favors. I came to Swickard Honda because they had exactly what I was looking for. The sales team did a great job trying to keep me interested and kept working to lower my rate as well as putting forth discounts regarding their maintenance warranty. They also addressed the issues I had brought up while testing the car such as rock chips in the windshield and fixed them for free. The only thing that I really do not like about this dealership is that it's like pulling TEETH to get anyone to email, call, or text you back AFTER you had already bought the vehicle. And this was just a couple weeks after, and getting worse as my purchase is less recent. I had to make multiple calls and emails to my sales person, his manager, and the titling department in regards to getting physical copies of my paperwork, follow up on my license plates, my DEQ inspection (which they did for me), registration, etc. I will say that I do get inquiries solved in the end but that is MY EFFORT after a few too many times of trying to reach someone that had and will help me. I took my 1995 Honda in to have them check it out. It had been idling ruff and check engine light had come on. I cleaned the pcv valve and that seemed to fix the problem but, decided to take it in anyway and get it checked out. I was told it needed a new radiator cap and a flushing out of the system. Well $250 later I take it home. On the way home I notice it's smoking. I figured it's burning off spilled fluids. The next day I drive it and I'm red lining it. My temperature gauge is as far up as it goes. I now have a cracked radiator that I have to replace. My car had never overheaded before. They r trying to say that the pressure from the new cap caused it to Crack. Maybe, but why was it smoking on my way home and why didn't they better check this out and know about it. I can't say enough about the amazing customer service I received from Swickard Honda. I took my car to a local 'reputable' mechanic who claimed I needed a new transmission (to the tune of 7-8K!). I had my car towed to Swickard to get a second opinion. They were able to fix the issue with my transmission for a fraction of the cost. Tina went above and beyond to accommodate me during a very stressful time. They have my loyalty for life. read more

Purchased a 2022 Pilot and traded in my Chrysler Pacifica which still had a loan balance. Part of the financing deal was that they would pay off the loan balance with the 10 day payoff period - Totally normal, right? I thought nothing of it as I have done this before with other dealers and had no issues. Finished signing and the finance guy asked if I wanted printed copies or if he could email them to me. I thought I'd save some paper and agreed to receive them via email - never got them. Today I log into my account for the loan on the Chrysler and they have still not paid it off. So I am stuck with a loan on a car I no longer own and I bet I'm on the hook for the extra interest too. I don't know if this is sheer incompetence or outright fraud, but I would never risk buying another vehicle here again.
