We talked with Dale in Dec 24 about taking a stack pipe out of our fireplace since we changed it to an electric fireplace. We sent pictures and got a quote, so we made an appointment for Jan 16,25. After getting reminders they were coming between 10-12, we received a call at 11:30. "The office made a mistake, we don't do this work" Doesn't he look at his work orders ahead of time? Couldn't he let us know before the date? We moved everything including our 50 inch TV and were waiting for him to come. Unacceptable and poor customer service. read more

So some guy came out to my house by the name of Bucky with his girlfriend driving the van, he came over here he made a mess of things he didn't even pull the drawer from the dryer to see all the caked on lint that was feeding into the vent system. By the time he left a mess on the garage floor he didn't pick all of his lint up. By that time he was headed for the roof...brand new roof on my house all the lint blown with a leaf blower onto all my front shrubs. Told me it was no big deal he would sweep it up but nonetheless still lint left everywhere on the ground...he had no trash bag to pick anything up. Very pathetic. I will never call these people again Here's a cherry on the cake the girlfriend was who was driving the van was sitting with a book in front of her nose the whole time and she blocked my driveway!! read more

Wonderful job cleaning and inspecting our chimney, thorough, leaves nothing to be desired. Good value. Dale was polite, personable, smart and even helped us dispose of our old chimney insert. He kept the dirt and dust to a minimum, swept the chimney from the inside of the house and did a careful inspection when he went on the roof. I called this company today, because they are a local business. They were able to provide same day service to clean my dryer vent, which was important to me because of my schedule! They gave me prompt, courteous, efficient and thorough service! The technician was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to trouble-shoot my problem and fix it, cleaned up after himself and even helped me clean up the stuff that fell behind my dryer! As a chimney sweep, he also checked out my fireplace chimney for me and told me it was in good shape and did not currently need cleaning. I appreciate companies that are honest and don't try to sell you more services that you don['t really need. I will be using this company again for both dryer vent and chimney cleaning! read more

Highly recommend. Buck is great, super knowledgeable about chimney issues. He strikes me as someone that is watching out for the customer's interests, including flagging issues to watch for in the future with no effort to upsell today. Also very helpful with tips for fireplace use and maintenance. We recently moved into a new home and hired Swept Away to come in and examine our fireplace chimney and to clean out our dryer vents. We were extremely pleased with the courteous service and the expertise of our chimney sweep Buck. Buck was very thorough with his cleaning, and explained, in detail everything as he continued to work. We did not need chimney cleaning, and appreciated his honesty, and when he was finished he provided us with a detailed account of his work, including pictures of the status of our chimney on the roof, and the condition of our vents located on the roof. We will definitely continue to use swept away on a regular basis, about every 18 months. read more

Tom (owner) answered the phone when I called to get a quote for my laundromat in south St. Pete. Two days later he was at my store, on time, dressed professionally. He quickly gave me a quote and set me up for a cleaning two days after that. His quote was competitive and he stuck to it even though the job ended up being more involved than he had anticipated. In addition to cleaning out my vents, he fixed the goosenecks, some of which were missing, and repaired damaged vents in the ceiling. Tom told me to buy the goosenecks at Home Depot and leave them at my store so I could save money instead of having his guys run to Home Depot. This alone saved me at least $100 in labor plus the standard product markup. My dryers are running 25-30 degrees hotter now as measured by IR thermal gun. Proof is in the pudding. In fact they are so hot I have to go in and reduce the temp settings. Can't say enough good things about Tom and his work. I'm glad to have found him. - Robert M. they did a nice job but i think for four hours of chimney work they charged $1400 which is $350 an hour which seems high

One of the best interactions with a service contractor I have had. When I called for an appointment, Michelle asked what was convenient for me rather than just being tossed a timeframe. That was, to me, astounding. When the appointment day arrived, Buck was very proficient, immediately inspected my chimney, took photos and provided an estimate. He indicated that it would take approximately a week to fabricate a new chimney cap, and true to his word, I received a call in 8 days indicating they were ready to install. Additionally, Buck shared that all work would take place outside thus I would not need to be present for the install. This was a great relief as I did not relish taking another day off. I received a notification when the tech arrived, and a full report when they departed. Upon arrival at home, I was greeted by a new beautiful chimney cap and assurance that my fireplace was safe for use. I am just waiting for the cold snap so I can light a fire. Such a pleasure to interact with a service company that actually promotes excellence in customer service. read more
