Obviously the Margs are delicious but the Guacamole, fish and the shrimp tacos are my favorite in the island. The vibe is great the team is great and I love every visit. So reasonable with pricing. It is a smaller location so wait times are always a bit long but perfect for a Marg before you sit! read more

I found the food unexpectedly lackluster. I found their nachos flavorless and their tacos bland. The interior decor had a lovely surf-shacck vibe - but without the pleasant surprise at finding great quality cuisine. I will not be returning. read more

Bottom line: Delicious food, communication for catering could be painful. I deleted my previous review because I felt it was premature and insensitive. However, the only regret I have is deleting it. Communication was still lacking after I was told it is not how Swell does business. I had met with Emily to discuss catering/ truck options for my engagement party. We were told during the tasting that their days book fast so it was important we communicated to them as soon as we could the day to hold. Tasting was awesome, we even stayed for lunch (the waitress said Emily didn't tell her we were staying so we sat and waited almost 20 mins before we waived someone over). It was a lot of empty promises to call me and set up final details or payment, delivery, etc. She told me a personal reason had come up (understandable, life happens, she was apologetic). It felt like it was me chasing her via email every few days and via Yelp review before I was called back. I emailed her twice about making sure my payment was received and again twice I was told, "the card will be charged today", it wasn't for several days. To be fair, from what it looked like, there was no support from her leadership team in her absence. FYI. Swell does not include any serving ware or utensils with their catering. Information was not provided, I had to ask after payment was given. Frustrating process, however Emily did waive our delivery fee and provided her number for "emergency reasons". I have paid other restaurants and catering companies less for higher quality customer service. Delivery guys were great though. Real nice, quick to set up and apologetic for running late. **This was the most painful review to write because we all should be given second chances, but this was the most stressful part of planning my engagement party**. read more

Drove out to Babylon to check this place out because I loved their Instagram feed This place is so chill! The decor and staff are so cool making you just feel laid back when you enter in a sit down. We ordered a bunch of hard and soft shell tacos - steak, chicken, and shrimp. All were yummy. The nachos was a favorite. It was so fresh and the blend of taste and colors were on point. I hope to come back for some margaritas next time, I hear they are delicious! read more

Swell Taco - Delicious swell taco nachos! - Mexican Near Me - Babylon, New York

The food is good and never had anything to complain about that or the drinks. It's the customer service they need to work on. May times we have been there and there servers were more interested in hanging out behind the bar with each other or just chatting with friends. They are all young and they only seem to take the job to hang out and have fun or flirt with each other. Several times i have had to get up and go get the sever so we could either get a drink refill or the bill. Again the food and drinks are good they just need to work on customer service. read more

Ate here today for lunch and was very disappointed. Out of three tacos only one was bearable to eat. The best thing I had was the chips and salsa and my soda. My husband and I asked for another drink and it never came so we just asked for the check to leave. Upon going home I was sick to my stomach and threw up all of my food about an hour later. 10/10 would not recommend to anyone. Save your time and take a drive to dirty taco. The wait may be longer but it's for good reason. No idea why people come to this place. read more

Place has a cool vibe, some of the best margarita batches I think (I like a sweet marg), pretty good food (I'm not very partial to Mexican though), service I don't remember being particularly one way or another. Overall a good after beach spot where you don't feel out of place with messy sandy hair lol. Hours are freaking weird though. On more than one occasion I pulled up after the beach and they were closed ? Or went into town for dinner wanting them and it was closed ? Ended up at tres palms instead each time this happened. Seriously, who closes in a beach and foodie town on the weekend ? Stupid move on their part, losing a ton of business. read more

Great spot everyone is so nice and the tacos and drinks are so good! Reasonably priced as well!! Stop by and see.

What an overhyped blowhole Lousy prices for Lousy food Lousy service Good drinks And A lousy time read more

Came in here for a quick bite after the beach; it was pretty crowded for a Monday afternoon with a wait of about ~30 minutes for a party of two. Once we were taken in, the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered two of the fish tacos and one of the papas tacos. Both were amazing and filled with plenty of flavor. Great quality food, wavy atmosphere and decently priced. Would love to go again. read more

Guacamole was so salty we couldn't eat it, tacos were soggy and unimpressive. Would rather go up the street to Del Fuego

Swell taco isn't so swell....perhaps this is the standard around these parts....but I'm all set on this place. The Mahi Mahi was fried and dry, the grilled chicken was...subpar and the shrimp was...well, just shrimp. No dimension in flavor profile...just lackluster in general. read more

My husband and I Absolutely love the loaded nachos. I had a few tacos, I'm not a fan of the slaw that's on it but they were still good once removed. read more

Delicious! I love that they give you chips and AMAZING dip for an appetizer for free. It's such a chill place, I feel like I'm in California. I came here on my lunch break with a friend. It wasn't too much money for the tacos, a few bucks - and it was really good! Walking in from the parking lot, which is nice access, the line seemed long. The line was so long we were first standing on their back patio. But it went fairly quickly. We had enough time to get through that line, sit down, order a couple tacos and be back at work in a whole hour! read more

Been here plenty of times, never disappoints. Tacos are fresh and tasty. Beer is always nice and cold. Place is a bit small and always a wait to get a table but worth the bite. read more

Really good Tacos and a-lot of variety however the service is dirt slow....If coming on lunch break, prepare to lose 1 hour minimum from when you first walk in the door till when you just walk out the door...I will definitely return here however I really need time for it..Parking is in the back of the restaurant and very annoying/confusing to find if it is your first time dining...Overall its a place you must taste! read more

Came here this afternoon with my cousins (one with a baby who has a stroller) and my daughter. (I had a stroller too) I asked for a table for 3 plus my daughter (who needs a high chair) the young girl said 20-25 mins. We were right outside the place and I see people going in and being seated so after 20 mins I said how much longer they said 10/15 I said ok. I get a call our tables ready, she shows us the table drops the menus and walks away. The table is a booth squeezed in a corner where not even 1 stroller could fit. I went back and said we waited so long and I told you in the beginning its 3 people w/ a baby whose capable to be in a high chair and one stroller. She looked like wtf did I do wrong, everyone working thats front staff is young teenagers. Anyways we were seated at a different table she left the menus and walked away with no high chair. Our waiter didn't come for 10 mins, he got our drink order & appetizer order that didnt come for another 10, he apologized. WHILE everyone else was getting theirs that was seated AFTER us. The service was slow, the waiter wasn't attentive. I had to keep getting his attention. We ordered our entrees and they came after 30 mins (AGAIN while others seated after us got their food) Our guac was so salty (and came out very late), the chicken shredded tacos werent shredded it was pieces of chicken in it. Our waters didnt come out till after the food. Wont ever come again. Management needs to better train employees, not hire teens who dont care. They represent the business. Wasnt worth the money. The only nice thing out of this lunch was the waiter apologized for the wait for the guac & chips and took it off the check. If you're in the neighborhood I'd rather go to the other taco spot on the main street. read more

Delicious food have never had a bad meal from swell have gotten it with friends and family hope the rest of the days will be nice and ez

Honestly the best taco's I've ever had. The food is consistently amazing. They always get modifications correct.

This place is awesome! Only downside is that because it's so good! (And a little small) there is almost ALWAYS a wait. But it's worth it! They also take down your phone number, so you can walk around the town while you wait and they will call you when your table is ready. I personally didn't have any of their alcoholic drinks when I went, but their iced tea is great! We got a large guacamole for the table, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. Only downside was that it was a little small for a "large" but I guess that's to be expected with the price of avocados. I got the "three amigos" as my meal-three tacos; shredded chicken, carne asada, and fish. The chicken and steak were very similar to each other, and I wish I got sour cream for them or extra guac to just add to their flavor. The fish tacos were pretty good, but not the best I've had. Two of my friends got burritos-the potato one and the steak one, and they were both phenomenal (I tried them!) and they were HUGE! They both had half of their burrito left over. Our waitress was on top of things and provided friendly, attentive service. Overall it was a good experience, and I would come back for the guac, and maybe get a burrito next time! :) read more

This is the best hidden gem in Babylon. Food is amazing and fresh drinks are refreshing and the atmosphere is nice. Priced right. Every time my family visits from out of state this is where they choose to eat. It's that good!!!! read more

Food is good just not my cup of tea. The food is just the same and the drinks aren't that good. I prefer AvoTaco.

Great food, great atmosphere, great price! Lots of open air seating. Get the guacamole!

Amazing service and food is delicious. Never had an issues with anything we ordered. Thank you

This place gets my highest 5***** rating!!!!!! Be it the atmosphere, the food or the service it's all excellent!! Set in a casual California surfing type relaxed setting, it's a great place to meet with friends or for a date night. The Margaritas are the best on Long Island!!!! DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

While I love the food here the wait has now become who you know. I sat and watch people check in that knew staff members and got sat before us because they were "friends" of staff. You really turned me off by this. I'm ok for a wait but not when the staff plays favorites. read more

Called ahead around 9pm and was told there was a half an hour wait for a table . Walked over from a local bar and got seated around 9:45. Chips and some sort of green salsa were delicious . Tacos were mostly bland from what my friends said and what I tasted. My "big papi" burrito was tasteless and stuffed mostly with potatoes. Paid $1.50 for guacamole and I'd say there was about a table spoons worth in there. I drowned It in hot sauce to make It actually taste like something. Not sure what the hype is about . This place is forgettable, to say the very least. Plenty of better options out there . read more

I don't live on the south shore but have friends that do. When we meet for lunch it's sometimes here. Delicious and fresh with a cool atmosphere. Shrimp, papas, buffalo tacos are my favorites. Love the tortilla soup though they don't have it every day. Dinner can mean a longer wait. But it's WORTH IT! read more

We hired the Swell Taco truck for our daughter's engagement party. It was a huge hit and the food was delicious. Despite the extreme heat outside, Chad and Kieran did an excellent job of taking care of our guests, always pleasantly and with a smile. Would definitely recommend!! read more

I was very grossed out from the picnic table we were sat at and there was old food n garbage jammed between each board of wood. It smelled like rancid food it must have been old meat in there. It kind of really grossed me out and ruined my appetite so as far as the food goes it was just okay and nothing special. The prices were very fair but I still wouldn't go back after this experience. read more

I love Swell Taco! They have excellent salsa for the table and great tacos! The vibe is super cool and laid back here, and I am a huge fan of their outdoor seating! I always go for their Carne Asada taco or their fish tacos! But you can always switch it up and get their "3 Amigos" plate as well which is one fish, one carne asada, and one shredded chicken (how could you go wrong!?) Can be a little difficult to find the entrance if is your first time, but they are right down the alley way! The staff are young, cute and friendly! read more

Nothing special about this place. Not sure the reason for the hype. Food is no better than Taco Bell but will be more expensive. Not real Mexican food, more like taco-Tuesday at home type of tacos. Always crowded. read more

Seating is tight and there's not much standing room if you're not in a seat at the bar. Besides that it's an awesome taco shop with a good vibe and even better food. read more

Excellent food and drinks. We get their pork nachos and fish tacos. Their margaritas are also great. They practice covid precautions and are very organized read more

Great food that is reasonably priced. This place is a Nice hidden gem. Get there early to get a table because it books up fast.

Let's begin with the packaging. Innovative. That is the only word that one can use to describe such a brilliant foyer for those delicious little tacos. They separate them very well so there is no spill over. I went on a date here (date went eh) and got a large of those margaritas. read more

Food is amazing but that comes with a price! Sometimes there is super long wait for dinner but honestly it's worth it. We have waited over an hour just to go for dinner. I think they should take reservations and have more seating or more locations because it's so good. read more

I travel the extra half hour and totally pass the Patchogue location to come to this one. Even though it's smaller, the town is way nice and more fun. As far as the food, the fish tacos are out of this world! I also love the buffalo chicken taco. The "crunch n' munch" or whatever is gross. Not into the refried beans, it makes the taco too dry. The guacamole is always so good! They give you a free basket of thin light tortilla chips with some wicked good salsa verde. Don't bother getting queso on the side. It's nasty and tastes like cheap Velveeta. I've never had the burritos. I always get tacos. As far as drinks, I love the strawberry basil jalapeño margarita. Best one they have. read more

It was really dirty In the whole restaurant. We like to sit at the bar so we sat after another couple just got up. We had to wipe the bar down ourselves with napkins and several people behind the bar saw us doing this and did not think to wipe the bar. The sangria tasted like water. The second drink i got wasn't bad but It wasn't spectacular. I will say the rice was good! The chicken quesadilla was nothing special but my fiancé enjoyed some of his tacos. The bathroom was filthy...sticky with garbage all over. I wouldn't go back. read more

We've been coming here for some time. Can't beat the prices nor the quality of the delicious food. I particularly love the super trendy Bohemian atmosphere. Surfboards and stringed lighting fill the place. It really is so good better expect a wait on a Friday or Saturday night. read more
