I used to have great experiences at this eyebrow threading salon, which is why I returned after…read moresome time. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. The place felt unclean, I was not greeted, and the technician did not sanitize her hands or consult me before starting. She began threading my eyebrows without any discussion, and I have microblading, which I made no changes to request. My eyebrows were threaded far too thin and are now uneven, sitting below my microshading lines. When I expressed my concern, I was told I simply have thin eyebrows, which is not accurate. Overall, I'm very unhappy with the service and result and will not be returning or recommending this place.

I usually thread my eyebrows in Hicksville. They are clean and affordable. I found myself nowhere…read morenear Hicksville last week so I decided to try Manisha. She was friendly enough but her performance isn't anything that would make me drop my usual spot, even if I don't live hear Hicksville anymore. But the price?! Insane to me, especially when compared to my $6 threading that I am used to. And I literally laughed out loud reading Becca's comment from a few years back-"who cares that she doesn't wash her hands? She isn't required to!" It's just plain NASTY and UNSANITARY for anyone not to wash their hands after touching people's faces! Who cares if she isn't "required to" according to NYS? The no hand washing and the $12 cash only price is more than enough for me to stick to Hicksville.

They shaped them perfectly and put this gel on at the end which included a little 2-minute massage. There's a coupon out for new customers and your first visit is free. (Look for it in Entertainment Weekly or the pennysaver.) After your visit they give you a points card where after your 8th visit you get your eyebrows done for free again. Can't beat that!

Hidden Gem! Vincenza…read morehas been doing my Keratin treatments for 3+ years. She has always done a fantastic job, gives a great haircut and is a pleasure to sit with. The owner, Lisa, is accommodating and knowledgeable. Other salons I've been to are overscheduled, stylists are working on more than one person at a time, and leave customers waiting, and then rush through your appointment. O'Bella takes me the moment I walk in, and I don't have to spend the day there. Nice little coffee bar, always fresh snacks & happy funny banter between everyone there. I'd take that over a fancy cappuccino in a tea cup & a holier than thou attitude ANYDAY!

NOTE** This review could have been avoided if the manager/ owner returned my phone calls/ fb msgs…read more I know, from experience, how damaging poor reviews can be to your business. When making the appointment I spoke to a young lady who passed me on to a more mature sounding female after telling her I'd never been there before. I told her that I have "short and funky" hair and was looking for a stylist who was good with short hair. I walked into the salon for my appointment and met the stylist, I have decided not to use her name, and showed her 4 pics of women who had the hairstyle I wanted. She said, "I didn't know I would be doing a MEN'S HAIRCUT." She preceded to say she didn't have her clippers on her and the receptionist was new and didn't ask the right questions. 1. The last time I checked hair didn't have a gender assigned to it. 2. Why don't you have your clippers and couldn't you have borrowed another stylists? 3. I have never made an appointment at any salon and told them more than the fact that I have short hair. I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble with this post. I'm sure the stylist is a good person and didn't mean anything by it. She honestly seemed very uncomfortable for whatever reason. I THINK THE LANGUAGE NEEDS TO CHANGE: I would not want anyone struggling with their sexuality or gender identity to experience this. (As I did growing up on Long Island in the 90s) I would absolutely avoid this salon if you are a member of the LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY or are looking for something outside of the norm. Based on their yelp reviews there is a trend of rudeness, unprofessionalism, and discrimination. I'm sure MOST businesses would want everyone to feel welcome and accepted into their salon... but this is not one of them. Suggestions for the owner: Speak to your entire staff about the language they use. A rainbow flag sticker on door will help the LGBTQ+ feel welcome and safe, but only if you put in the work to create that safe space FIRST! You have my #.

I've been going here for years and now I refuse to ever come back. My hair has been the same color…read moresince November and when I came on August 20th when asked what I wanted to do I asked to keep it the same. Instead my color was changed without my consent. I had a bright pink color and it is now a deep bold red. After we bleached and rinsed my roots and I was told to go back to the chair I saw RED dye in the bowl and I distinctly remembered the die looked like a darkish pink purple when it went on my hair so when I asked why there's red in the bowl. I was told there isn't red. That is just what the dye looks like. Then as she put it on my hair i again asked questions cause it didn't look right. It looked dark and red. She told me it's just going to look like a darkish magenta until it is washed and dried. I was lied to each time I asked a question even by the girl who washed my hair. The second I went to look in the mirror I said. "This isn't the color." To which once again I was dismissed. I politely paid and said it looked good because I wanted to wait til it was dry to see if she was telling the truth. She didn't. She put red in my hair. Changed the hair dye. Everything. And didn't consult me or ask me if it's okay. And refuses to pay me back the money I paid for it. This is the second time she had done this to me. I asked for purple years ago and she once again put in a red based color. I will never go back there again. My trust has been broken and she refuses to admit her mistake of return the $160 I gave her.
