The skin of the chicken was definitely not fried properly and appeared to be partly raw. Once I bit into it, the chicken felt chewy and was partly pink inside. I got 5 wings and wished I had only got one to try cause I couldn't eat any of it. My husband thinks the chicken was read and fried while still frozen which kept it from frying properly. How can you skip steps in cooking and expect your customers to be happy and come back?? The owner raises their own beef and pork and uses the local butcher/ slaughterhouse in St Johnsbury to get some great steaks, chops, sausages, ground beef, and more. I got some steaks and ground beef. I was happy & surprised at how gamey and wild their grass only fed cow was. I was not used to that flavor! It was fun and exciting at the same time! Is this the real beef? Is this how beef REALLY tastes, maybe 100 years ago? Price, yeah more of course, but go for it! Very lean beef! Comparable to buffalo. Hartland FM is Fridays 3:00 to 7:00 and a wonderful location at the local Hartland Library.

They didn't just acknowledge it -- they went above and beyond. They replaced it with a free NY strip steak, and on top of that gave us Prime Butcher playing cards and a big bottle of their "Everything" seasoning. Completely unexpected and absolutely appreciated. That kind of customer service is hard to find these days. They didn't have to do any of that, but they did -- and it speaks volumes about who they are. The manager and staff are always smiling, cracking jokes, and just genuinely good, down-to-earth people. And the meat? Always beyond delicious -- you won't find better anywhere else. Their fresh corn didn't require any soaking before roasting on my charcoal grill. It was absolutely the best ear of corn eaten in years. Their spacious 60 acre farm is dotted with beautiful flower gardens and rows of bright sunflowers in many shapes and sizes. It truly is a Vermont Farm experience.
