I was not comfortable with the way I was treated. I noticed on several occasions being in line that the person behind the counter was more courteous (said "thank you have a nice day," "sir," "ma'am") to someone of Caucasian background and I treated her with respect (saying "ma'am," "please/thank you") but was not reciprocated in return though I am older (and Asian too). She would just say "here" (handing my card back) and nothing else as she said to the ones before me even if I said "thank you have a good one." Even after I tried to confirm my order at checkout, she still got my order wrong but I was polite about it but was still met with a confused/disapproving face when I was merely trying to compliment the food. Even if there was a language barrier, still did not need to be treated this way. I don't think I'll return when I'm back in town. read more

This place has the best chocolate eclairs I have ever eaten. I had the Kolaches for the first time in my life and i love the sweet bread. Their cappacino was good but typical machine made. Staying near this cute place and popped in. Wow the jalapeño cheese kolache was delicious! It great dough and meat ratio. The doughnuts were nice and fluffy. You can smell he heavenly sweetness from the parking lot. Then you walk in to find a case full of fresh doughnuts and baked goods. The team is mixing fresh dough just beyond the display case and you know this place is legit. I had their apple fritters that were so good you'll risk the sugar overload again and again. Lightly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside (even the ones sitting on our counter for a day they were awesome). Also tried their mocha latte, not bad. Service was fast and friendly. Seating area was clean and well designed especially for a quaint little doughnut shop. Update: I've now also tried a "toaster" sandwich on jalapeño cheese bread. Really really good bread. Soft yet lightly toasted. Sweet with a hint of jalapeño and cheese. Not too spicy. For once the ham,egg and cheese were the side show to the bread they were on. It's amazing, I am vacationing in Canyon Lake, and visiting my son Bob, owner of Bear Creek BBQ. I stopped here for my first visit on a Monday, January 11, 2021. The food and drink options are home made, and delicious!!! I had one of their tasty breakfast wraps and a large latte. There hours are 6 AM to 12 PM seven days a week. We went to the one in Sattler. Great selection, dining room is open and clean. The service is fast and friendly. The doughnuts and the kolache were soft, fresh and delicious. It exceeded my expectations. I noticed they had an espresso machine, I didn't order coffee because I had already purchased coffee somewhere else. One of the best places to stop in and get breakfast at Canyon Lake. Love the kolaches, the bread has a sweet taste to it, which I love. Went today and got some cream filled donuts for Father's Day bc they are my hubbys favorite. But sadly in all 6 of them there was no cream in our cream filled donuts. But they were still good, even without the cream. Will still go there even after this one slip up bc no one is perfect. read more

Cup o Joe was closed so we stopped in to Sweeties for coffee. I was skeptical walking in but left happy. Sweeties makes their coffee using freshly ground beans, was tasty and at the good price of $1.49. Their apple fritters were spot on. Today we got their sausage, egg and cheese croissants which were tasty. I think Sweeties is owned by a couple. They were friendly both times we stopped in. Credit / debit cards are accepted for purchases of $3 or more which equate to 2 coffee or a coffee and pastry. read more

The place is adorable. Very close to my house so, naturally, I would love to love it... But I just can't. The people running it just flat out do not want to sell you their pastries or beverages! They act so interrupted and frustrated when you walk in the door. A woman with short hair and glasses is always there and I've seen her greet older gentlemen with a smile, knowing exactly what he came there for. But, no one else even gets a "good morning!" or "what can I get you today?" You have to beg for attention from the girls behind the counter and you're generally having to repeat your order several times. I've been there multiple times, sheerly out of convenience. The pastries are good. Coffee is okay. If they upped their customer service, the okay espresso and alright kolaches wouldn't bother me. But if they're going to be annoyed that they have to sell me their less than perfect product, I'll steer clear of that place. Like I said, I wish I could love it. read more

I wish I could give this place less stars. I have gone to them for breakfast upwards of 10 to 15 times and every time I say I'm never going back. Customer service is horrible. I have had one good experience with a younger lady who worked there a few months ago, but I have not seen her there since. If you ask for something (for example a glazed donut) and dont get it, if you ask them about it they say it was not their fault and that you didnt ask for that. This has happened three times with two different people. The food is alright. It really is nothing special. The only reason I go back is because unfortunately it is the best and only donuts around and oh how i wish there were somewhere else. Price is pretty standard for a donut shop. Not really much to say on this front. I wish i could say STAY AWAY, but if you are in the mood for donuts then this sadly, is really your only option aside from driving 20-25 minutes. read more

After spending $15.96, we come to discover that our whole order was wrong when we returned home... besides the two drinks - which I had grabbed on my own.... After repeating my order of 3 JUMBO JALAPEÑO SAUSAGE CHEESE kolaches & 2 JUMBO SAUSAGE CHEESE kolaches, with a glazed CREME filled donut.... I walk out with a CUSTARD filled donut, & only 2 PLAIN JUMBO SAUSAGE kolaches (6 minutes later)... just to have to return back inside, to pick up my 3 JUMBO JALAPEÑOS CHEESE SAUSAGE kolaches (since they were never handed to me originally) & come to discover that they were just 3 ADDITIONAL PLAIN JUMBO SAUSAGE kolaches... we discovered the 5 plain jumbo kolaches when we got home, so please double check your orders because you certainly can't trust them of goodwill, as a business SHOULD practice. Thank you for 8 minutes of waiting for a completely jacked up order and 15.96$ down the drain.... if you are not going to pay attention to your customers' orders, please do not make them wait a whole 8 minutes when it could of been just 3 minutes... also, whoever answered the phone, please learn hospitality and owning up to the shop's mistakes... the lady was completely rude and shrugged it off as if it was all my fault. I will be returning to prove the price of 15.96$ that we actually paid, and not just 14$ which I was accused of only paying instead of the 15.96$. This is the closest and best kolache/donut shop to me. My usual is a jumbo jalapeño sausage cheese kolache. Other things I've had are bear claws, cream filled donuts and their awesome apple fritters! There are a few tables inside to eat in but also a drive thru if you're on the go. They also have some iced coffee drinks, smoothies and breakfast sandwiches if you are looking for something a little different. read more
