I headed to REI Co-op, a store that I frequently shopped in Baltimore. It's located in Indigo Square near the Town Centre in Mount Pleasant. There's plenty of parking ... the interior is well lit ... and the sales floor is well stocked. I knew what I wanted after browsing their website. My goal was to establish the size and place the order as I wanted a particular Columbia hooded down jacket in a trendy tobacco color. I was approached quickly, tried on a few Columbia jackets and within minutes, the friendly and very helpful sales associate placed the order. In three days, my jacket arrived. It is perfect and arrived just in time for the 32 degree temperature forecasted for tomorrow. REI should be your 'go to' for everything you need for your outdoor activities ... fishing, skiing, hunting, hiking, etc., ... accessories, too. Selections are available at all price points, whether you 're looking for value (chose REI branded merch) or 'bells and whistles.'

What really impressed us was that Jordan didn't just start pulling shoes off the shelf. He first took the time to ask my husband what he needed, what was most important to him, and what he would be using the shoes for. Based on that conversation, he suggested several different options and explained why each might be a good fit. We ended up going with the On Cloud shoes he recommended, and they were perfect. It was honestly refreshing to work with someone who genuinely cared about helping us find the right shoe instead of just making a sale. That kind of customer service is rare these days, and we really appreciated it. Jordan was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process - my husband had a ton of questions :) ohh and pricing was actually lower than the OC website!

We were a group of 10…read moregirls in town for a bachelorette weekend and Will & Cameron helped set the bar high for the first full-day of the trip. As the Maid of Honor, I was in charge of plans for the weekend and I wanted to start the trip with my own version of a bike tour around Folly. I called 2 days prior to our arrival because I didn't initially think we needed a formal reservation, but started to get nervous as we got closer to the trip. When I called, the guys told me it would be no problem and they would have 10 bikes ready for us at 11:00am that Friday. I wasn't sure what would happen when we arrived, so I held my breath and crossed my fingers all would work out. I was ecstatic when we arrived to see Will and Cameron already at the door waiting on us!! We were maybe 5 minutes or so after 11:00 (10 girls can be a lot to get out the door) but they both commented on us "being on time," so I felt much better. They got us setup and on our way very quickly. I even asked for some of their "expert opinions" on restaurant/bars we should stop throughout the day and they provided us with great recommendations. I think having the bikes on a Friday was perfect because we didn't run into too much traffic and it felt very safe everywhere we went. We were really sad to return the bikes at the end of the day. I thought we would only spend a few hours on them since Folly isn't that big, but we were having so much fun we stayed on them until the shop was closing. By the end of the weekend, I asked the girls what their favorite part of the trip was and the most common response was the bikes!! If I had to do it over, I would probably pay to rent bikes for the full weekend. It was the best way to get 10 girls around Folly Beach!

I had a great experience at Sweetgrass Cycles! I got a flat tire while I was riding over the bridge and called them to see if they could fix it. They were more then helpful and fixed the tire in just a couple of minutes. They checked my other tire as well to make sure it was safe. It's now been months since delivery of cart (without the soundbar). When I call the salesman (initial "J") all I get is lip service and excuses that the soundbar is still on back order. Probably not his fault but someone there should own this. Strangely the sales floor has literally dozens of golf carts with the soundbar installed. Maybe uninstall one of them and install it, as promised, on our cart? Be careful dealing with these folks. Don't make the mistake, as we did, of paying for something upfront that will not show up. So disappointed, so very disappointed.

On every visit, they have repaired the problem and have never tried to upsell me on some other aspect of the bike. The last visit has given me a reason to take the next step and write a comment as their customer service was outstanding. Through a mutual miscommunication, the wrong replacement tire was ordered and placed on my bike. I only noticed this about five weeks later, and went in hoping they might switch for the desired tire with some discount for the replacement. Dan, the owner of the shop apologized and went much further than I had expected in ensuring my satisfaction in the overall experience. In 2026, to have this kind of old school (i.e., proper) customer service is rather exceptional. This kind of service requires customer loyalty in response. I will always come to Dan for repairs and future purchases. I heartily recommend that anyone who needs bicycle repairs do the same.
