I have had many repairs to my bikes here. They are always helpful and prompt. Fair prices and friendly service.

Miles was really knowledgeable, helpful and kind. He put two new tires on my bike and answered my endless questions happily. He also gave me some much needed advice on a few things including my options as far as lights for my bike. My bike ended up needing some more work the next day and the owner actually came to my apartment within minutes of my call to the store, to do the work since I didn't have a ride to the shop. You can't really ask for better customer service than that. That would never happen at one of those giant sporting goods stores. I was so grateful he took the time to help me get my bike back on the road asap, he clearly really cares about his customers. They have beautiful bikes, all the accessories you might need, and a repair shop. Highly recommend. read more

After dealing with this company for years I moved away and unfortunately wrote previous bad review for which I blame as a misunderstanding.I always try to find good in things and although I might have overreacted to a way I thought I was being treated this bike shop has done nice perfect bike service and has been consistent in the way I was treated before the kerfuffle.Everybody has off days and I am not perfect by any means I wish these guys the best as they strive or have already achieved bicycle shop greatness, been to all other bike shops in Charleston and this is best one by far read more

Seemed like they didn't want to sell anything when I visited, not helpful at all. Only operating outside but no sign letting customers know that, just employees that acted annoyed that it wasn't clear. read more

We needed to stop in for a tube and we forgot to check the hours - whoops! Luckily the owner happened to be there and let us in even thought they were closed. He was very knowledgeable and polite, got us exactly what we needed, and sent us on our way. Five star service! read more

I came by for a tune up, and was very pleased with the level of service and high quality of the repair. Daniel was the main mechanic helping me and was evident he knew what he was doing. Great business and look forward to have them as my bike shop moving forward read more

Outstanding bicycle shop! They work on both of our adult tricycles and my Specialized Rock Hopper! Absolutely no issues!

Hands-down, the BEST bike shop in Charleston -- and probably South Carolina, for that matter. Our bicycles are so important to our lives, and it's important that they're running top-shelf and -speed, so the first thing we do when moving to a new area is to find a local bike shop. (I'll deal with finding a primary-care physician later!) Four years ago we came into Charleston and into RideBikes and we've never looked back. Greg, Daniel, Miles, Tom, Wally and the entire staff are friendly, knowledgeable and expedient. They keep us on the road. read more

This is a small bike shop in an awkward spot, but they give great customer service. A real people place. Also they have a big dog to play with. You had me at big dog. I brought a bike I purchased at an auction in for a tune up. I bought new tires and tubes. The next day I was back because the pedal fell off. They found an old pedal in the back that fit and only charged me five bucks. That's the kind of customer service that will keep me coming back, read more

Great shop! I purchased a bike that I had to assemble myself. Long story short the directions were very unclear and it was a disaster. I called this shop and Daniel hooked me up. Now I know it's in good shape and the price was fair - especially for the piece of mind. I would recommend Ride Bikes to anyone and I will go back. read more

I had a problem with the chain on my 15yr/old Trek hybrid bike... It came off while I was climbing the Dawhoo Bridge "hill" and jammed between the crank and the frame. Greg showed me that my chain had worn and needed replacement ($15). He also suggested replacing the gear cassette cluster ($15). His labor charge was just $10. He quickly did the repair on the spot and I was out the door within a 1/2 hr, test riding my bike with its new gears around the neighborhood behind the shop. Fast, friendly and competent service. What more could I have asked for and out the door for under 50! I'll refer anyone in need of bike repair to these guys. read more

Took my bike here for a tire repair. Seemed like a great idea since they have the word 'bike' in their name. Guy told me he fixed it. Took $18 from me. Then let me go on my way. A week later I went on a pretty considerable ride (20 miles) and had the same tire burst. The problem was not fixed, the guy either was an idiot or straight up lied to me. Seems like a poor business model. read more

I love this bike shop. Greg and Tom are really nice, honest, and won't try to sell you anything you don't need. They're experts at what they do and the shop has a great selection. They have bikes at just about every price point. Parking is a little hard, but it's worth it. I'm happy to give them my business. read more

Great bunch of guys, down to earth, kind, helpful. I take my bike there for simple repairs and they never fail to fix the problem and get me back on the road. Serious bike riders who seem to really enjoy their work. Best place I've found around here. read more

Took my bike in wanting some feedback on the hight of my mountain bike. Whoever helped me was very knowledgeable as well as friendly. Some adjustments were made at no charge and I was on my way. The guy talking about his tire going flat in the bad review above is way off with this place and needs to learn how to fix a tire himself. Who goes on a 20 mile ride and doesn't know how to change a flat? O ya that guy-Pshh anyway I just moved here from Texas and I'll be hitting this place up when I buy another mountain bike. Great products and friendly knowledgeable staff. read more

Our go-to bike shop in Charleston, we've been purchasing from them and taking bikes in for service for a few years now. The staff is very knowledgeable and won't pressure you to make a purchase (a personal pet peeve). I've purchased anything from a middle-of-the-line men's bike to a kids helmet and been pleased with both quality and price. We always recommend Ride Bikes to friends and family!! read more

Best customer service I've had in a very long time!! Nice to know I can go somewhere where that I have no knowledge about but can know that I'm not going to be taken advantage of!!very affordable, customer friendly, and really quick!!! Love u guys! My wife and I wanted to buy two cruiser bikes and we went to Ride Bikes. We spoke with the owner Greg who was very nice and knowledgeable. He steered us to Tuesday bikes. We took them for a test ride and liked them. Throughout the experience Greg was no pressure, no nonsense and very accomodating. He changed the grips on my wifes bike because she wanted black versus tan and the same for the seat. He said I will make sure you get what you want. He then put a couple of accesories on the bike (basket for my wife) and didn't charge for putting them on. I thought I would ask if they offer a military discount, he said absolutely!! I was so happy. Great little place with excellent service, great prices and who supports our Military. Awesome experience! Thank you read more

I was looking for a boys 24 in bike for my grandson who has outgrown his 20" Bike. I called 6 shops and visited 4. Only two shops had one boys 24's, each trying to sell a 2d grader a girls in stock bile or a boys 26'! ! ! Daniel of RIDE BIKES took an interest from my first phone call then in-person introduction. He offered to look up and search the various brands and recommended & bring my grandson in for "sizing". EVERY other bike shop showed callous concern during the phone calls and on visits none offered to look up what could be ordered. We were obviously a sub $400 buyer. Daniel of Ride Bikes treated me as a $5000 customer, ordered the bike and made numerous recommendations as to accessories. We left Ride Bikes on a Saturday and picked up the ordered, assembled bike on Wednesday. I will be back. read more

I took my bike in because my rear wheel was damaged. I couldn't believe that they were able to repair on the spot and in an economical manner....do yourself a favor and take your bike to them whenever you need service..........you will be glad you did. read more

Anthony L is obviously a know nothing clown. These guys have done a lot of work to my bike and I've never had an issue. Tires go flat.... It happens. Leaving a negative review for a flat tire??? Maybe you should learn how to change your own flat. That falls under cycling 101. Please don't let this guys 1 star review drive you away from Ride Bikes, they know what they're doing. read more

These guys ROCK! I went on one of their Thursday night bike rides and I forgot my helmet at home, so they loaned me a helmet. They also realized my light might not be bright enough so they loaned me a brighter light! They even took a look at my bike and offered to help fix it. Tom and Greg are great people and run a fantastic shop. They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and are incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone in town! read more

Omg - these folks are the best. Brought an old rusty bike in to have pedals replaced. The two guys worked hard for a few minutes on the spot to replace - and didn't charge for any labor. The perfect example of why we all need to support local businesses. read more

Last year I bought a basic 3-speed commuter bike here and promptly got hit by a truck the next week. These guys took great care of me - put together a thorough bike repair quote that I could submit to insurance, provided free labor for all the repairs (free labor for the whole first year really, since I bought a new bike), and gave me unsolicited/unadvertised discounts here and there when I came in to buy accessories. They've been very friendly, honest, and hard working. Quality work with no pressure to buy anything you don't need, although they're happy to give advice / recommendations if you ask. I've been back on my bike for 9 months now, and by this point when I walk into the shop, they know my name and remember the last few things I came in for. Currently getting my rear wheel rebuilt because the North Charleston roads took a toll on the spokes. :) My only complaint is that you can't turn left out of the shop (have to make a right turn then U-turn), but oh well. Everything that matters about the shop is great, and I send all my friends here who are looking for new bikes or repairs. Thanks Greg! read more
