Miles was really knowledgeable, helpful and kind. He put two new tires on my bike and answered my endless questions happily. He also gave me some much needed advice on a few things including my options as far as lights for my bike. My bike ended up needing some more work the next day and the owner actually came to my apartment within minutes of my call to the store, to do the work since I didn't have a ride to the shop. You can't really ask for better customer service than that. That would never happen at one of those giant sporting goods stores. I was so grateful he took the time to help me get my bike back on the road asap, he clearly really cares about his customers. I had a problem with the chain on my 15yr/old Trek hybrid bike... It came off while I was climbing the Dawhoo Bridge "hill" and jammed between the crank and the frame. Greg showed me that my chain had worn and needed replacement ($15). He also suggested replacing the gear cassette cluster ($15). His labor charge was just $10. He quickly did the repair on the spot and I was out the door within a 1/2 hr, test riding my bike with its new gears around the neighborhood behind the shop. Fast, friendly and competent service. What more could I have asked for and out the door for under 50! I'll refer anyone in need of bike repair to these guys. read more

Took my bike here for a tire repair. Seemed like a great idea since they have the word 'bike' in their name. Guy told me he fixed it. Took $18 from me. Then let me go on my way. A week later I went on a pretty considerable ride (20 miles) and had the same tire burst. The problem was not fixed, the guy either was an idiot or straight up lied to me. Took my bike in wanting some feedback on the hight of my mountain bike. Whoever helped me was very knowledgeable as well as friendly. Some adjustments were made at no charge and I was on my way. The guy talking about his tire going flat in the bad review above is way off with this place and needs to learn how to fix a tire himself. Who goes on a 20 mile ride and doesn't know how to change a flat? O ya that guy-Pshh anyway I just moved here from Texas and I'll be hitting this place up when I buy another mountain bike. My wife and I wanted to buy two cruiser bikes and we went to Ride Bikes. We spoke with the owner Greg who was very nice and knowledgeable. He steered us to Tuesday bikes. We took them for a test ride and liked them. Throughout the experience Greg was no pressure, no nonsense and very accomodating. He changed the grips on my wifes bike because she wanted black versus tan and the same for the seat. He said I will make sure you get what you want. He then put a couple of accesories on the bike (basket for my wife) and didn't charge for putting them on. I thought I would ask if they offer a military discount, he said absolutely!! I was looking for a boys 24 in bike for my grandson who has outgrown his 20" Bike. I called 6 shops and visited 4. Only two shops had one boys 24's, each trying to sell a 2d grader a girls in stock bile or a boys 26'! ! ! Daniel of RIDE BIKES took an interest from my first phone call then in-person introduction. He offered to look up and search the various brands and recommended & bring my grandson in for "sizing". EVERY other bike shop showed callous concern during the phone calls and on visits none offered to look up what could be ordered. We were obviously a sub $400 buyer. Daniel of Ride Bikes treated me as a $5000 customer, ordered the bike and made numerous recommendations as to accessories. We left Ride Bikes on a Saturday and picked up the ordered, assembled bike on Wednesday. I will be back. read more

These guys ROCK! I went on one of their Thursday night bike rides and I forgot my helmet at home, so they loaned me a helmet. They also realized my light might not be bright enough so they loaned me a brighter light! They even took a look at my bike and offered to help fix it. Last year I bought a basic 3-speed commuter bike here and promptly got hit by a truck the next week. These guys took great care of me - put together a thorough bike repair quote that I could submit to insurance, provided free labor for all the repairs (free labor for the whole first year really, since I bought a new bike), and gave me unsolicited/unadvertised discounts here and there when I came in to buy accessories. They've been very friendly, honest, and hard working. Quality work with no pressure to buy anything you don't need, although they're happy to give advice / recommendations if you ask. I've been back on my bike for 9 months now, and by this point when I walk into the shop, they know my name and remember the last few things I came in for. Currently getting my rear wheel rebuilt because the North Charleston roads took a toll on the spokes. :) My only complaint is that you can't turn left out of the shop (have to make a right turn then U-turn), but oh well.
