I immediately received an automatic response thanking the potential customer for contacting her, to provide the order information, etc. I also have to note that in that same message, she suggests that you leave your number and she will contact you by the end of the day which I then promptly replied with my order information. I opted not to leave my number at this time and presumed that she can simply message me a yes or no just as easily. I sent her a message this evening, 4 days later, after having received no response from her whatsoever. I simply stated that it would have been helpful to me if she simply answered if she could or not. It was no big deal, but a simple response would have been the professional thing to do. Instead, I received a very patronizing reply stating that she's "sorry I did not drop everything I was doing to respond to your email", how she works full time, is very busy, answers messages only twice a week, has a family to take care of and lastly, if I wanted an immediate response for cupcakes that I should go to a store! The funny thing is, I would have completely understood if she had simply apologized for not responding because I do understand that 8 days notice is considered last minute in the baking world. However, I cannot justify not providing a simple reply to a potential customer after 4 days knowing this is a business about upcoming events. Instead, her response to me showed how rude she is and lacks professionalism. There are a lot more professional, accommodating, and very pleasant bakers out there! She's not one of them!
