They provided suggestions, but my heart (and belly) needed a chocolate frosted and buttermilk donut. The latter was delicious, the chocolate frosted was a little dry. I didn't realize until after the fact that they carried Lavazza coffee. I'll have to try it next time! I think it's safe to say I pretty much finished the first donut before I even left the store! Real Mexican pan dulce has hints of orange or cinnamon depending on which type of bread you're trying. Conchas should be soft and similar in flavor to brioche or challah. My SIL ordered a tres leches cake for her daughters birthday and it was disgusting. Bland, dry, barely any leches. Yes everything looks nice and the size is big but you can tell they're just making big sized items to make money. They do not care about quality or customer service. If you're looking for authentic Mexican bread DO NOT go here. This bakery is 2 min from my house and I'd much rather drive 20 mins to Alexandria for waaay better bread and nice service from bakers that know and love what they're doing!
