I think Dr. Hall's intentions are good, she is kind but I'm just not impressed with the cost of treatment. Once I told them, I wanted a second opinion they didn't want to assist the new office by sending x-rays. I had to ask 3 times for my x-rays to be sent and I was very kind when asking for staff for help. The staff was rude and hung up on me but I eventually got my X-rays. They really overcharge you at Uptown Dental. I got a second opinion because I thought the deep clean cost was just outrageous. They wanted over $1000 for a deep clean with insurance! I talked to friends who had a deep clean and they paid around $330 after insurance so I just felt like I was getting scammed and I was right. I found a dentist that will do the same treatment actually took better x-rays and made me feel more comfortable. It's unfortunate because I had to drive all the way to Ahwatukee to get a fair price for necessary dental work. Just so people know if you really need an affordable price dental schools in Phoenix will do the same work as well. I was referred to Sweet Tooth Dental by a friend. I took my granddaughter to the dentist for the first time. She was scared and did not want to go. Dr. Nicole Hall and the entire staff made her feel welcome and comfortable. She was calm and cooperative the entire time, including when she had to get a cavity filled. I had insurance, but did not really know how it worked. Veronica was able to explain how my insurance worked and took care of everything for me. Before leaving, they gave my granddaughter a little sand timer and talked to her about brushing her teeth. Now she will not go to bed without brushing her teeth with the timer. I've been blessed to find and have Dr Hall and staff transform my whole mouth of problems to one that I'm not ashamed/scared to look at in the mirror. I had quite a few extractions that were pretty painless without complications. Gum cleaning went well also. Uptown Dental is Senior Citizen friendly and in my UHC Medicare Advantage network. Well, what started as a great experience has turned into my worst dental experience ever. On March 15th, I had a broken molar exratracted with a bone graft . The graft fell out within 2 days, immediately after the extraction my mouth broke out in half a dozen or more huge ulcers, which I've NEVER had before, on March 20th, they got me in and cleaned out the extraction site and redid the bone graft, she wrote me two prescriptions. I left, dropped off my Rx, and was immediately called saying those prescriptions couldn't be filled. I went to a second pharmacy, and the same result was the same, I've left dozens of messages with the after-hours answering service and messages thru a portal on the official website. I barely got a response today, 6 days later, informing me that the dentist was out of state on family matters for at least a week. I was able to get ahold of who I believe was Dr Hall via text. Her response was to go to another oral surgeon or dentist, on my dime, because my insurance will very likely deny an additional claim for the same exact procedure. She said she is unable to send a different Rx.. I understand family emergencies, however, office staff should've been able to respond instead of just not answering multiple emails and messages for 6 days. I love giving locally owned and operated businesses my business but not if I'll be ignored. It's a medical office, there should be protocols for emergency closures to alert patients. I'm honestly really very disappointed in the lack of effective communication, I was looking forward to finding a great dentist close by,but, I need to be able to trust my providers. Truly the best experience I've ever had at a dental office! I had two separate appointments in one week to get multiple fillings and a deep cleaning done, and I was extremely nervous going into it because I haven't always had the best experience at previous offices. Each time I was there though this past week, Dr. Hall and the Dental Assistants, Karen and Alfredo, made me feel like I was just hanging out with some friends. The time went by so fast, I felt that they were truly taking care of my teeth while always making an effort to make me feel at ease, and after my first visit, I actually was looking forward to coming back for the second! I also really enjoyed the deep cleaning I had after with the Dental Hygienist, Chris! He was just very kind and had such a calming presence, and I feel like he really cares about each patient that sits in his chair because of the way he interacted with me. This was probably my favorite part of the whole experience! Overall, Dr. Hall and her team are truly one of a kind. Have been going a few years now and have had a few issues. This last visit was the worst. I had a bridge put in a couple months ago. The bridge cause a good tooth to loosen and require a root canal. I agreed to pay the cost which was $433. After the root canal was finished and I went to pay, Tracy advised it would be two payments of $400. I disagreed and told her I had the quote at home and would bring it in. I then later called the office and she stated she did make a mistake in the initial quote because all my insurance was used up already for the year so the cost was over $800. I told her this was not the first time the pricing has changed and increased and I would pay what I agreed to pay prior to service done. She disagreed and now they are refusing to give me my replacement bridge that I already paid for. read more

Update to my review: Had the most amazing experience here recently that I just had to share. I had a canker sore on my tongue (ouch!) and the office manager, Paula, had me come in when the office was closed so she could check it out and help. She helped me get a prescription, even on a Saturday, and I couldn't have been more grateful. The medicine helped immensely and I was just in awe of how she went above and beyond to help me out even when the office was closed and/or it being the weekend. She even gave me her cell # to keep in good contact. My canker sore was so bad it made it hard to eat, drink, talk, etc. so the timeliness of getting help was key and I was nothing less than 100% satisfied with how Paula and her team stepped up to help. Recently, I was not satisfied with my old dentist- it seemed like they were trying to upcharge me as much as possible instead of focusing on my dental health. Old dentistry never seemed to care too much, always messing around on my visits- lacked professionalism. Then, I came to this new place; they gave me an honest assessment in detail, and they took the time to teach me hygiene. They went above and beyond and were highly professional. I used to come here back when Dr. John Bracken was the head dentist at this practice. After 53 years as a dentist, Dr. Bracken retired a few years back. In addition, most of Dr. Bracken's loyal staff retired along with him (almost all of his staff had worked alongside him 30 years or more). I had been tempted to seek out a new dental practice to get my teeth taken care of. But what has kept me coming back here is the one remaining holdover from Dr. Bracken's staff. Kathy is a fantastic dental hygienist. I've got my teeth cleaned by her for decades. She's friendly, knowledgable, and thankfully forgiving if I don't stay on top of flossing as often as I should. And she still does a fantastic job on my teeth. The new head dentist Doctor Cullinan is also very personable and has done some great work on my teeth whenever I needed a cavity fill. One quick thing to be aware of if you have a health insurance plan with a large deductible as I do. From my experience, regular checkups and cleanings are covered. However, you do have to pay up front if you get a cavity fill or a laser dental treatment as I have. They do offer payment plans to soften the blow, but just be aware that they will ask for payment in advance for advanced procedures. For now, I would continue to recommend this place both to new patients and to those who came here for Dr. Bracken for so many years. Kathy is still here and still doing great work (with some newer technology to boot). And just a reminder (as I'm reminded so often by Kathy), don't forget to floss. read more

However they'll put you in a chair with someone who polishes your teeth BEFORE cleaning, then a "hygienist" will look at your teeth but not clean, and then a "dentist" who is more concerned with heading off to the gym will tell you all the work you need but won't actually clean your teeth. THE DENTIST AND HIS OPERATION WOULD MAKE MUCH BETTER CAR SALESMEN THAN HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS! Don't stand for this people- went to another dentist the next day and half of what they said was bogus!!! He recognized the discoloration in my teeth and told me what my old dentist always said about my teeth. James at the desk is hard working and can find appointments that can work around any schedule. My partner and I recently relocated back to Phoenix, and I found this office which was a quick walk a few blocks away from my workplace. First for some background context, I've previously experienced several rough hygienists in my adolescence, and as such had developed a phobia regarding gentle cleaning and dental procedures in general. This phobia had complicated my timely and routine schedule for checkups, and a fear that required at times to be prescribed a mild sedative before a visit. In addition, I'm a type-2 diabetic which adds risk to dental health. What I experienced at this office was the care I wish I had received earlier in life; Juan took the needed time to explain all of the details to me, and was very patient with me throughout the visit. Procedures included xray imaging, contacting my dentist for history in Tucson, a comprehensive cleaning, gum pocket measurement, Arestin injection, detailed training with a new Bluetooth toothbrush, and assessment by Dr. Cullinan. Not only was this a profoundly favorable visit, I now have confidence that I no longer need any sedatives before my next visit to the dentist; a confidence I haven't had previously in my adult life (I'm 43). With a new Dentist at this office, it has gone from a lovely place to get a cleaning and dental work to a disaster. I've been receiving cleanings here for about a year, and when I went in to get my last cleaning, all was the same, except one huge change, that no one decided to mention before providing services to me. The dentist has changed ownership and after a cleaning and a filling the next day I was hit with an out-of-network bill. They neglected to mention that there was a new dentist/ownership and I may be out of network, or to at least check on my part. They lied about my portion of the estimated bill for the filling, saying it was for the filling, but actually it was my portion for the cleaning, now being out-of-network. I will start by saying I used to love this office and my dentist, Dr. Cullinan. Not anymore though. All of the staff has turned over, and there's a new dentist. The office manager is the rudest, most condescending woman I've ever encountered, they constantly reschedule you, have constant billing issues, and don't seem to care at all that you've been a long-time patient who has spent thousands of dollars and referred numerous people. I had always had the $269/yr. plan which gives you $25 cleanings. I brought my daughter in for her (twice rescheduled) 6 month cleaning, and was told AFTER by the witch of an office manager that I could pay $269 for another year, as our plan had expired 2 weeks ago, or $211 dollars for my daughter's cleaning. When I asked her why I wasn't informed it had expired BEFORE her cleaning, she said that wasn't her job to remind me. I told her if she wasn't willing to honor the $25 cleaning after all of my money & referrals, I would never be back. She responded by saying she would be happy if I never came back. So I paid $211 for a ridiculous teeth cleaning, will NEVER go back to this dentist office, and plan to tell everyone I've referred over the years just how shitty it is now. They went from a caring office where you never felt taken advantage of, to the total opposite. Find a different dentist! Run away! read more

I cannot recommend Uptown Dental enough. The entire staff there made the experience comforting and easy during my visit and follow-up. Most dentists I have been to are rather impersonal and have a tendency to talk down to you but the staff here was exceptional at making me feel taken care of and supported in the dental health journey. Dr. Kaur clearly cares about her patients and is more than a dentist, but a partner in the journey. Worst dental experience ever today! The front desk lady was so rude. My husband had a root canal at this office over a year ago and has had constant infections and issues from it. He's been back 3 times to address the issues and it's still infected. Today the dentist says he's just going to pull the tooth, yet he offers no other solutions. The rude front desk lady tells me it's my husbands choice to pull it and they will be charging us for this. I let her know we are still paying off the original $3000 charge for the root canal to which she says you'll have to speak with the dentist. They were all set to pull his tooth and be done with it but we decided to leave and get a second opinion. Save yourself the inconvenience and choose a different dentist. read more

I was requested to reschedule my 3 month appointment based on the doctors availability. I obliged and requested them to to add stuffing to the cleaning appointment since I was suffering with sensitive tooth. Upon arrival, the hygienist got me ready for cleaning at which point I told her stuffing my sensitive tooth was more important than just cleaning. She said the doctor would take care of that after the cleaning.After faulty instruments not working and shifting rooms , I finally finished cleaning. At that point the doctor came in and me to show the problem teeth and I explained how sensitive it was. He asked me to set up a follow up appointment and said he wasn't aware of any filling job for me for that day. I tried explaining to him and his assistant at which point he left the room abruptly without any kind of closure to the conversation. The assistant then said she would reschedule my appointment and after 10 mins of wait time asked me to visit office manager's office. The office manager said they had messed up my appointment and the doctor had now discovered 2 additional filling to be done along with the 4 backlog in the earlier list. He then made an attempt to explain the payment chart, by which time I had made up my mind to change the doctor. I should have written a review long time ago, however giving this place multiple occasions to correct themselves was my mistake. read more
