My mum arrived in Hammersmith at lunch time, having spent an extra four hours travelling due to a…read moredelayed plane, and was understandably hungry. Which offered me a perfect opportunity. Having lived here for nearly two years, I've walked past Antonia's very, very often. And almost every time I do, I think about going in and giving it a try, but never do. So this time, it was a perfect solution.
And I'm very glad i did visit! The food was delicious, fresh, health and vibrant. I had a butternut squash, feta cheese and pine nut salad - a very simple plate, but something I would never have done on my own, and which was delicious. My mum had an equally tasty tortilla, and we shared some bread. Not a hefty meal for either of us, by any means, but as I'm not fond of heavy lunches, this was perfect. The prices were pretty decent too - and would be even more so with a taste london card!
The only thing preventing me from giving it a full five stars was one slightly un-smiling waitress. Mostly, the service was fantastic, but the waitress who served us our food and was at the till when we paid didn't really make eye contact and barely cracked a smile the whole time we were there. Which was a shame really. But I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was just having a bad day - I'm definitely still going to go back sometime anyway!
