I went to their site and saw a beautiful arrangement "Sleek Romance"; roses, carnations, baby breath, and one flower I do not know of but the colors were peach and red with sprinkles of white and I knew the family member it was going to would love it. After taxes it came up to $101.00 which is about average for an arrangement of that kind. I immediately received an email after placing my order that it had been received. Also, in that same email was in fine print that they service 200 zip codes in the DMV area, so I knew afterwards that my order could potentially be cancelled. It was not cancelled, it was in fact transferred to another florists nearer NJ who did their own design (not at all the same arrangement but close) and also selected a date outside of my chosen date. The arrangement was delivered the day before Valentine's Day and not of and this bothered me because the florists assured Open Blooms it would be delivered today. I would give them another try because they are a family-owned business and they are local to the DMV. I'd also do my own due diligence of cancelling my own order before having them find another florist to arrange and deliver my order.

I planned to send flowers for my mom who lives in Virginia for her birthday. Instead of the standard 1-800 flowers, I wanted to choose a local florist in the area that offered delivery and support a small business. After some research of northern Virginia florists who offer delivery on flower bouquets, I chose Chaya Floral, which I highly recommend. Chaya Floral's website was easy to use, with a good amount of floral bouquets to choose from for delivery. Compared to other florists, Chaya is more expensive. However, their arrangements are high-quality with fresh flowers and lovely designs. It's worth the money. I chose the "Touch of Love" design, which was modern and chic, which I knew my mom would love. When checking out, you can add items for an extra charge, so I added a balloon with the bouquet and made sure to place it a few days before my mom's birthday for delivery. They cannot deliver on the same day, so plan ahead. On delivery day, my mom was not at home at the time when the florist attempted to deliver, so the florist called me and let me know that instead of leaving it at the door, she would drive out and deliver it again in a few hours, which I appreciated since it was raining that day and we didn't want the flowers to be outside in the rain. The bouquet looked very similar to what's displayed online, and they also indicate that if certain flowers aren't available, they will substitute flowers of equal or higher quality. Also, instead of a typed message, the florist handwrites the message on a card for an extra touch. I'm very glad I found Chaya Floral and would highly recommend using Chaya for flowers in the northern Virginia area.
