    Sweet Nola

After a fun Sunday at the zoo, I brought my niece and nephew to Sweet Nola for a snoball treat. Just a short 10 min drive to Mayfair. They LOVED it! My nephew sheepishly showed me his empty cup by the time I turned around to check on him but his bright red smile said it all. My niece's cherry snoball was delicious and fluffy ice, sweet but not too sweet, and generous. I love that they add syrup in between the shavings, like how you should get buttered movie popcorn. She told me on the way home that she wants to come back and try the tiger's blood flavor. Umm...maybe I should've asked more questions! I really wish this business well after opening just a few months ago. The owner was a pleasure to talk with and learn about her Tulane and New Orleans background and her future plans. The ambiance was bright, cheery and clean. Patio chairs are available outside. Parking lot was easy. Support this sweet small local business! We'll be back!

I came for a special event back in Nov 2024 and was impressed. Today I decided on this cool day to visit then again. I asked the owner, Lara how was business? She said she was busy thru Christmas. It was slow in Jan & Feb. The last few weeks have been steadily increasing. I noticed her prices have not increased. I had a small Tiger's Blood which has strawberry and coconut syrups. Very red and not overpowering sweet. I remembered to have her stamp my frequent visit card. The space is clean and well lit. No indoor seating, but chairs are available just outside on the covered sidewalk of the strip mall.

    Cheers for snoballs!!

Took my kiddos here for an after school treat. They would highly recommend bubblegum, cotton candy, and lemon-lime. The child size option was perfect for them. There is plenty of parking and a nearby park to visit before or after for a refreshment. We also chatted with Lara (the owner) and she is so friendly. FYI-you can connect with her about private events (I.e. staff appreciation, parties, etc). Add this place to your radar!

This place is incredible and a gem for the locals. We drove 15 miles to enjoy the ice treats from this small business. Lara, the owner simply couldn't be more welcoming and pleasant. The shop is super clean and there is ample safe parking. I ordered the candy cane flavored ice with a condensed milk topping. It was mouthwatering. My friend ordered a cherry shaved ice and he enjoyed his as well. We also ordered so praline cookies Lara was selling and I even bought a Sweet Nola t shirt. This is the definition of a well run and personalized small business. I don't live anywhere near this place and I will be back regularly. Thank you Lara.

This place was very clean, simple, and cute! I was excited to eat a freshly made snow cone. The best one I had was in New Orleans so to see a place that sells them got me so excited. There were SO many flavors. I love all the unique holiday flavors they had. I got the nectar flavor snow cone, it was delicious! The service was so friendly and quick. There's also free parking in a parking lot. Definitely worth the spot if you want a quick nice dessert made with lots of love and flavors

Never thought a snowball could be this good!! I've had nectar and eggnog, both with condensed milk. Great flavors and great service!

We…read morestumbled upon this little gem completely by accident while visiting the Natural History Museum, and honestly? Best accidental discovery of my entire trip to Denver. This tiny, adorable hole-in-the-wall shop is everything you want in a neighborhood ice cream spot -- warm, welcoming, unpretentious, and run by two of the most genuinely lovely women I've ever encountered in the food service industry. From the moment our group of six walked in, we felt like we'd been coming here for years. They were patient, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about every single thing they make. Now let me talk about the ICE CREAM, because wow. Six people, multiple flavors between us, and not one single complaint -- which if you know my family, is basically a miracle. Everything was rich, creamy, and tasted completely homemade in the best possible way. But the thing that absolutely sent me over the edge? BANANA PUDDING. Multiple banana pudding options. I grew up in the South and I have been low-key grieving the lack of banana pudding culture everywhere else I've lived, and here it is -- in Denver, Colorado -- done absolutely right. I may have embarrassed myself slightly. No regrets. This is a Black woman-owned business and these two have built something truly special. It's family-friendly, it's joyful, and it has that rare quality of feeling like a place that was made with real love. If you're anywhere near the museum, you would be genuinely doing yourself a disservice to walk past this place. Go in. Get the banana pudding. Thank me later.
