Matt brought my guitar and ukelele from "Rustic Grime" to Masterpiece!…read more I brought my 20-year-old Walden Natura D550 and a vintage 1953 ukulele to Matt, and the results are honestly shocking. The '53 uke was in rough shape--old, rustic, and covered in decades of grime. Matt transformed it completely. He finely detailed the body until it was shining like a mantle piece, fixed the tuners, and recommended Nylgut strings that make it sound incredible. It went from a dusty relic to a daily player that I can't put down. For my Walden guitar, Matt performed "wild work." The action was high and the strings were dead, but he used a "cold clamp" technique on the neck and hand-carved a perfect unbleached bone saddle. He even recommended a spectacular cocobolo bridge to match the guitar's aesthetic and tone. Both instruments came back sounding "shockingly fantastic." If you have an instrument that has lost its "soul" or just needs expert engineering to sing again, Matt is the man to see. A true master of his craft and a total professional.

During our conversation I noted that his passion for Guitars was clearly evident. I felt confident that he would bring more musical life to this instrument. Matthew checked fret wear, the string action (and spacing) , the guitar neck, tonality, guitar bridge and stability, string groove, action, tuners, fret buzz, saddle height, intonation, pick up height, stable tuning and much more, He is meticulous and precise. My instrument now has new Life, Vibrancy and now runs on all Musical Cylinders! It is a pleasure to know Matthew and the positive aura that is felt when you are at MW Guitar Repair. You will walk in with a smile and leave with a bigger smile. Thank You friend. I truly appreciate the intense work you perform. Additonally your work is of Heart and Soul, sincerely.. Update! Our son Chris is continuing to thrive at this school. His knowledge and skill level is…read moreexcelling very rapidly. Chris takes his music lessons very seriously and we have increased our lesson time to double time. Music theory with Paul and Guitar and Bass with Greg. Chris has attended other schools and has reported back that Greg is the teacher he feels he learns the most from in Guitar and Bass, classical acoustic and electric. Music is a self directed inspired passion. What Chris loves is that Greg is always willing to shift gears to what interests Chris the most without hesitation but the right way, in terms of foundational strength. Paul is a teacher and mentor to Chris. If you have little ones, I have no doubt that they will grow like family in this school. Chris started when he was 9 years old with classical piano. The band part of this school's program allow Chris to participate in song selection which is very important to him. All the band members have a say in song selection to be fair and this is important. Volume is adjustable for rehearsals which is very important for the safety of hearing. As with anything you get what you put into music lessons. Rapport and chemistry between a teacher and a student is paramount. If you are willing to dedicate attention time and effort to learning then your outcome will be the absolute best. I continue to highly recommend the high level instruction of this school for Guitar, Bass, classical acoustic, and Piano. Reading music and music theory as well. The chemistry with Chris and his teachers is a valuable treasure to me as a mom. In my opinion, if our son is excelling and enthusiastic to attend lessons always then that says it all. With other schools he was not eager to attend. To me that is telling.
