I've been meaning to try this place since I live nearby and drive past it every day! It's SO cute, I am really glad I stopped in! They have a great selection of coffee and pastries. I got a lavender latte and a sunshine roll, which is like a cinnamon roll but with lemon and orange flavor. Both were delicious! All of the staff were so friendly! I took my son here for their Trick or Treat event, and I grabbed a ham and cheese braid bread to go. I baked it just to warm it up at home, and it was fantastic. It was fluffy, a bit crispy, and the everything but the bagel seasoning sprinkled on top was a flavorful touch. The Trick or Trear event was great too. I love when locally owned businesses host little events to get the community together. All the vendors were so nice. My son had fun. read more

Easily the best bakery in GJ bar none. They have an excellent array of gorgeous and delicious pastries. I've never had one I didn't love. I also enjoy getting their pastries at a few coffee shops in town. Their location here has a drive thru and a coffee shop as well as a bakery. I love desserts and always wished we had more dessert "restaurants". Sweet Kiwi Cookies etc. answered my wish with a stand alone store! I'd seen pictures of cookies, scones, cakes, you name it on Facebook or purchased some in Grand Junction's Kiln coffee bar. I've even enjoyed one of their cookies at a recent conference but could never just drive up and pick out some goodies. So glad I can now. Sweet Kiwi's store is small but quaint. There are assorted jams and jellies for sale, ice cream, scones, lemon bars, baklava, muffins, cookies, pieces of cakes, espresso, and more! Not only is EVERYTHING delicious and sometimes unique...it's all made with love and gifted hands. The cookies are expertly and individually hand-painted...deeeeeelicious pieces of art. The Nutella cake: moist, chocolates hazelnut yumminess! The lavender shortbread cookies: light, just the perfect amount of sweet and lavender taste. The apple strudel: flaky crust with sweet fruity Center. And the cookies: um...beautiful and buttery goodness for your mouth! The owner and staff are friendly and kind. Great retail bakery along US 50 in Orchard Mesa. Driven by multiple times but finally stopped several weeks ago and again a few days ago. Inventory varies from day to day and menu changes monthly. Favorites so far include ham & green chili croissant, blueberry & cream cheese croissant and ANYTHING gingerbread! You simply haven't had gingerbread until you've had some here. I wanted to love this place. I really did. I was surprised when they moved to OM, but after tasting their baked goods.. it makes sense. They probably got squeezed out by not making any ROI. The graphic sugar cookie I got was so sweet it wasn't edible. Even my young son threw it on the floor. The peach cream cheese brownie was about the same. We just ate the cream cheese off the top and threw away the overly sweet brownie. The baklava was pretty decent, but not memorable by any means. The ingredients seem cheap, maybe the recipes need to be tweaked. Idk, but it's a bad deal at Sweet Kiwi. I doubt you'll make it in OM either. Sorry. read more
