I went in last week to see about enrolling. Im 72 and a Veteran and im considered disabled. I…read moreasked why the seniors paid a lot more than the younger people. They didn't give a really convincing reason. I also asked about better price for a veteran and disabled. Again, they didn't give me a convincing answer, other that it is just not offered. Why is this? Is this only a Bloomington, IN thing? It must be because the one in Spencer, IN does. But it is just to far to drive now. This is just another strike against Bloomington, IN.

At first i really enjoyed this branch of the YMCA. Now i would discourage anyone with leg…read moredisabilities or other lower limb disabilities find another fitness center. i was willing to work around the chairs not the correct height. i could always find a piece of equipment to use as a chair. i also was willing to put up with trainers who had never worked with people with disabilities. What has pushed me over the brink is the broken elevator. The equipment i want to use is on the second floor. After over three weeks, no one has any idea when the elevator will be repaired. it is not the staff's fault. This is an administrative decision. The staff at both locations shrug their shoulders and inform the client with the response- we don't know when it will be repaired. When any of the other equipment was broken they have no response. The focus is on the healthy and not for people with disabilities.

Perhaps I would be able to write a more positive review about Jack and Jill Daycare had we been…read moreable to actually get any information about the daycare from the workers. When my wife went in to request information, the worker on duty was very rude bordering on openly hostile. She questioned my wife as to why we were switching daycares, opining that we must have had difficulties with our former daycare, or else we wouldn't be switching. When my wife tried to explain that 1.) the lady that had been watching our daughter was pregnant with her 2nd child and just couldn't keep up with 3 children and 2.) we had just moved to Ellettsville from Bloomington and were looking for a daycare closer to home, the worker on duty snapped that there must be some other reason that we were switching. To be questioned like that is extremely insulting and doesn't speak well of how the workers at Jack and Jill probably treat other parents and their children.

I have read the reviews of others and can't say that I agree with them. My children have been going…read moreto this Daycare for some time now (8+ years). I have randomly picked them up and dropped them off and have never seen any issues that suggest that there is a lack of quality of care. However, I have seen parents that can be rude and overly using of the care that is provided here. This place has people that are working to provide a safe place for kids to be when away from parents. I truly believe that they all care about the kids here and work to make it interesting and fun. I am not sure about the reviews below, but they seem to be from a really long time ago and not what I have experienced today.

If you have an infant I highly encourage you to stay away from this daycare. I am not one to leave…read morereviews, but I feel it is necessary. We tried to part ways amicably by stating we had just found a daycare closer but we got played. There were several warning signs that we missed due to the charming nature. When we asked to come see the daycare we were offered early in the morning before the kids were there at 7 am. We arrived at 650 and no one showed til 710. We filled out all of the paperwork and took our daughter one day. The first morning of drop off, the person there was unaware that I would be coming with an infant and they were instructed to "hold the infant until she got there". Upon returning to pick up my child, there was a little girl outside playing with a cat, little boys running around in just their shirts and one in just underwear. My daughter was in the main area (which I was told she would remain in the infant room) where a worker was laying on the floor with her on her chest. The little girl who was out playing with the cat was now grabbing my daughters cheeks and hands!!! My breast milk was out on the counter all day (thankfully in the cooler I brought with an ice pack). I had to ask for the lids to my bottles. Then when I got to my car I looked in her diaper bag and all the clothes were gone. I had to go back in and ask for the clothes and be subjected to the grabby young girl again. I would hope it was a one day fluke, but my daughter will not be returning and we are out almost 400 dollars even though she only went 1 day. :(

If your looking for an exciting awesome environment for your kids then look no father! Finding…read morequality childcare is a huge challenge. Denise, aka "meme" loves all her children as they are her own family. This daycare is more then just a daycare it's another family for my babies. It's just the right balance of play, learning, teaching, encouraging, and loving. For most parents children spend more waking hours at daycare then at home so in my opinion having a place to leave them that feels like they are at home and knowing they are getting love and affection is extremely important. Finding this daycare has been a huge blessing because when I leave them I know they are getting all these things!:)
