Thanks to another Yelper-Michael H. I have fallen in love with growing my own butterfly garden. I researched my area and found someone who told me Sweet Bay Nursery was the place to go nearby. It really was close so we drove right over. Kathryn greeted and helped me pick out the best plants to attract and keep up with the growing caterpillars. I started small with only 8 plants. 4 plants for the front and 4 for the back. Two swamp milkweed which doesn't sound great but are beautiful, two white twinevine which will grow tall on a tripod of bamboo poles and 4 yellow heliotropes. Kathryn is a wealth of knowledge about butterflies and the plants. She was so helpful and explained what we needed to be successful. Tom, the owner, checked us out. knew what all about the plants and set me up with a pile of literature to read to become more knowledgeable about creating a habitat. He was also wonderful and so helpful. If you are looking for plants-especially, plants, bushes and trees that are good for pollinators and plants for creatures that are losing their habitat. They also have related materials for the plants like bamboo poles. They have a large area with so much that I can't imagine them not having what you need. They have a wall of pamphlets with information of tons of topics and field guides to purchase. I highly recommend Sweet Bay Nursery. Thank you to Sweet Bay Nursery. I appreciate them (and Yelper Michael H. for getting me started). I can't wait to watch the cocoons, caterpillars and beautiful butterflies enjoying the garden! I will definitely be back!!

First time visiting and I fell in love with the place! It's a gardeners heaven The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They have plenty of native Florida plants that help the pollinators and quite frankly your/every garden. If you love Florida landscape and what you see in nature, this is the place you've been looking for!

No longer turf but a native yard with many plants supplied by sweet bay nursery. Lower half is done upper half next!

Sweet bay nursery is a great native plant nursery with a large selection and knowledgeable and kind staff. The property is beautiful just to wander and look around. Many established gardens and trees planted for examples and inspiration. Other garden items available as well.

I have bought thousands of plants from Sweet Bay for my plant installations, public workshops, and teaching at Stocking Savvy and no one in Florida has such a diversity of Native Plants as Sweet Bay does. If you want it, they generally have it, or can find it. They also have a great array of bat, bee, and bird houses, seeds, posters, soil, and a crack team of staff that can solve any gardening issue! Attached is one of my favorite plants from there a Mangrove Spider lily. Do you have a sandy yard, shaded yard, wetland, or just want to attract the birds and bees? Don't go to home depot, go to Sweet Bay!
