Steve, I know you read these reviews because you told me so. Now it's my turn to let others know what my wife and I have been through, now that you are no longer taking calls at either phone number and your e-mail address is no longer valid. The short of it: Nov. 11, 2019, I paid you $210. for a new chimney cap, price included installation. After several calls, you delivered the chimney cap but said the outer shield was damaged and that you would order a replacement. Here we are, first of March, 2020, and nothing. Jan. 22, 2020, I paid you, again in cash, $300. for a convection fan for our pellet stove, again, price included installation. After several calls of you giving us one excuse after another, we now find that you are no longer taking..any..calls at either number. Steve, you give us no other choice but to take you to court in an effort to retrieve monies for services and products that we paid for but have not received. I will request the above mentioned amounts as well as court costs. I will request to have your wife subpoenaed due to her presence on Nov. 11, 2019 and your daughter due to her presence on Jan. 22, 2020 as well as my wife who witnessed the transactions on both dates. My wife insists that we give you one last chance to make good on what is owed to us. We will give you until Tuesday, Mar. 7, 2020 for this message to make its way to you. You have our phone number. I had used Sweep Easy for awhile now. I was quite impressed in the beginning. As a working couple, they are very nice. Steve appeared to be quite knowledgeable. I had a scheduled appointment about 2 months ago. It was cancelled due to the weather and we rescheduled. On the day of my appointment, Steve was late. I texted him with no response. After waiting for at least an hour, I called him. He said he was busy but promised he would be at my house later in the afternoon. He never came, called or even called with an explanation the next day. I don't know what is going on with his business or personal life, but I would not recommend them. read more

My experience with Steve was very negative, but let me start by saying he has a very nice wife and daughter who were in my home with him two times. Steve started by trying to get me to agree to ripping out perfectly good pipe and installing used pipe from his shop. The cost was greater than the cost of a new stove. Steve has trouble with appointments and he has a list of excuses a mile long. He also tells one story after another to explain why something was not done right. He covers one lie with another. And the man seems incapable of ordering a needed part. He took my stove out to his shop for over a month. He told me he had fired it up for two hours and it was working perfectly. Then he brought it back and it failed to work and had the identical problem it had when I called him the first time. Obviously after over a month in his shop he never fired up my stove. He shined it up nice with stove black and returned it to me as dysfunctional as it was before it started. He told me he was ordering new parts to be here last November and it is now 5 months later and he never has got the parts. He says it is because the Stove Company hired a new person in their parts department. Because Steve did not seem to know how to get the needed part he rewired the stove to bypass the defective part and probably created a safety issue. Anyway because the rewired job caused the stove to malfunction we froze on cold days last winter. And finally today March 11, 10 months after Steve started fiddling with my stove, the thing stopped working altogether. I would never let Steve in my house again even if he bought me a brand new stove. This experience was disgusting and horrible because I hate being lied to. Steve and Cindy have been taking care of my fireplace maintenance for many years now, and I am a very happy, very satisfied, customer! Steve converted my wood burning fireplace to a gas burning fireplace two years ago, and he did a fantastic job! In all the many years that Steve has serviced my fireplace, I have always found him to be honest and trustworthy, and very knowledgeable, and extremely competent. I cannot understand the negative reviews that I have read about this company, because these people have integrity and are proud of doing a good job! The worst thing you can say about Steve is that he might be a little late if you have a later in the day appointment, because he won't leave a job until it is done right and done complete, he doesn't cut corners and I don't have a problem with that, because I know he won't leave my house until everything also is absolutely perfect. Besides Cindy will call you and let you know he is running late. I don't know Steve and Cindy personally, only professionally, and I seldom write reviews, only when I get exceptional service, and SWEEP EASY qualifies as exceptional! read more

Apparently Sweep Easy doesn't care about their customers because I ordered $627.80 worth of fireplace equipment (screen, 4 piece fireplace kit, ash bucket, etc) after having my fireplace inspected and never heard back from them. Finally called after 3 weeks to see if my equipment was going to be delivered and the woman who answered my call could not identify my order or provide a delivery estimate. I understand that the fall is a busy time of year, but a complete lack of communication and professionalism is disappointing. Sweep Easy may provide great chimney sweeping service, but I recommend going elsewhere for if you don't like overpriced tools and equipment that may take 4-6 weeks to deliver read more

I called Sweep Easy needing a new thermostat and wiring to fix an intermittent problem with my gas stove. He was running late and told me he should be here in an hour. He and Cindy arrived on the new schedule. The wiring was attached neatly and the thermostat works. I thought the bill was reasonable. If I have problems in the future I will call on Sweep Easy to fix my stove. read more

I have been using this company for more than a dozen years and have always had great and timely service. My pellet stove recently quit working and I'm unable to find the correct part needed to fix it. I called Steve, he said he was busy but would try to swing by to take look in the afternoon... no call, no show. I called back, he stated it would be later in the day... no call, no show. Called a couple of days later, he stated he would order the part and call me back to verify. NO CALL! Now he doesn't answer the phone, voicemail box full so can't leave message. Stephen Squire and his wife Cindy are thieves and liars. Do not do business with these people. We prepaid them for parts for our pellet stove in November. After several excuses over 3 months as to why they could not come replace the parts in our pellet stove, Stephen finally admitted the parts were never ordered. He offered a refund of our $$, which we have not seen after 3 weeks. If I had read the reviews on this business earlier, I would not have contacted them and I would not be out $900. I understand he has closed this business to concentrate on wood cutting. Do not do business with these people. read more

After three failed appointments to install a burner for our fireplace, we decided to cut ties with Sweep Easy. We asked for our money back by next week and if we don't receive it, we will be forced to take Steve to court. My advice to anyone who needs fireplace repair work done, do not use Sweep Easy unless you like making appointments where he doesn't show up, making phone calls that do not get returned and paying money ahead of the service performed. read more

Formerly Victorian Stove Shoppe, who was great and we used them for years. This new guy does as little as possible and charges more! Didn't get on the roof, didn't remove the bricks from my stove, in and out of here in about 30 minutes. On the up side, he was a nice guy and he and his wife (who accompanied him) have been through some personal hardships so I waited a fair amount of time before I left this review. I have used this company in the past and they were great. This time, not so much. They were scheduled out several weeks and then called the day of to say they couldn't make it. Rescheduled and then they no call no showed. Will never use them again. Poor service. read more

father in law had them come out. Took 15 minutes and charged $149. Four days later smoke is pouring back into the house. The guy didn't bother to clean screen on the outside.When he was there He then stated of this is going to be easy I don't even have to get on the roof. Call to complain they basically did not care tried to blame everything on us -poor quality wood -too much snow -blah blah -blah. He wouldn't even had to get on the roof to reach the screen. Did not want to offer any remedies so we would be satisfied. Basically laughed at us. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! Much happier with Moran chimney sweep. read more

We had a very good experience with Steve at Sweep Easy Chimney Sweep. Our pellet stove insert was not working and we called Sweep Easy to come out and service it. Luckily they was able to accommodate us the next day. Our repair proved to be quite a challenge. Steve spent a lot of time working on our stove and didn't leave until he was sure it was working properly. He gave us great service. Highly recommend. read more

They never came by to install it so I Called Steve said it was in and he would be by the next week to install, he didn't show. Now he doesn't answer phone calls and I can't get a hold of him. Sweep Easy has been servicing our chimney needs since 2011. I am not sure why there are any negative reviews. Not only have they done a great job cleaning our chimney but just today, they took time to talk to us and walk us through the process of pellet stove conversion (we currently have a wood burning stove). Steve's expertise phenomenal and his service level is outstanding. He does a fantastic job everytime. read more

My landlord had Steve from Sweep Easy come out and check out our stove. He arrived late, by a half an hour, and I had to call him to find out when he would be there. He stated that our stove needed pieces replaced as it was not up to code. I have made two appointments with him and both times he has not shown up or called to cancel or reschedule with us. read more
