Sweathouse is solid overall. The setup is clean, well maintained, and easy to use. I'd recommend rotating between the cold plunge and sauna a few times to get the full experience, then finishing with the vitamin shower, which was a nice touch. It didn't completely blow me away, but it's a really good spot if you're looking to relax and reset. I'd give it 4 stars. read more

The rooms are a bit dated (ie paint peeling and dust) but overall I enjoyed it and would recommend trying it, but I personally wouldn't sign up for a membership or visit regularly, at least at this location. read more

I found this place on a whim and I think it is a great hidden gem for locals! I'm a sucker for a spa day and this is a great way to unwind and disconnect. With the hour sweat session, you get a nice essential oil towel and personal sauna room with a vitamin c shower. You get an hour to spend in the room and do whatever you please! There is music connected to inside the sauna so you can listen to music, read a book, etc. they provide essentials like shampoo, conditioner, face wash, towels, hair ties, etc. they offer packages and subscriptions to use the services or it is $40 per session after your first. They also have a nook that you can use to get ready after your session with hairdryers, straighteners, an infrared light. The experience and concept behind SweatHouz is AWESOME! I feel like it's super beneficial and certainly necessary for a "reset" However, the staff at this location wasn't super helpful. This was my first time ever attending, and I was pretty much thrown into a suite. I was not explained how to operate the sauna, and the women seemed uninterested in explaining it to me. First time here & this place is amazing!! The experience in the sauna was wonderful. After 45 minutes in the sauna, getting into a cool shower feels unreal! The sauna experience was wonderful, however, the staff experience was average. This was my first time visiting, so I knew nothing about how the sauna worked. There was no walk thru and no instruction on how to operate the sauna, lights, or iPad. My daughter informed me after that she was able to watch a movie and change her lights. I have mixed feelings about this place. I did a trial which was a discounted first session. It included the sauna, then a red light session, and cold plunge. I only got to do the sauna. When I was done the sauna I thought I would be told where to go and what was next but instead they seemed focused on selling me a package than having me have the entire experience before making my decision to purchase. I left without trying anything else and although I was relaxed, I did not get the full experience (even had my bathing suit for the cold plunge). read more

So we've been using this service for about three months now. While service started well and the system seems to work. The staff turnover and quality of service has reduced drastically over the past month. We have had several bookings that have not been booked properly. The staff on duty make statements for things being broken and not working correctly. Treat yourself and try a sauna appointment! SweatHouz had thought of every detail and all I had to do was relax for an hour. I had my very own suite (they also have larger saunas for two people if you want to go with a friend). The sauna was larger than some others I have used and I could really stretch out. There was a countdown timer on the wall I could glance at to know how long I had been in there...without that I would have lost all sense of time because I was so relaxed! My only note for improvement would be to possibly install some white noise machines out in the hallway--I could hear other patrons and their loud exclamations as they walked down the hallway through my suite door and over my music from time to time and it took away slightly from the meditative experience. It wasn't a huge deal thought just an idea for an even better experience! read more

I will not be back to this location. It was my first time, the first woman who was at the counter had an attitude and told me to wait a minute and the walked away and started cleaning the suites. It just wasn't the greatest first impression. Few minutes later another woman came up and took my name, made sure I filled out the paperwork and gave me a cold compress. She showed me the suite and around the facility. She was nice and explained everything. The suite I was put in seemed nice at first but once in the sauna, as shown in the pictures, there was dust everywhere and the door handle was broken. I would also like to note the cold plunge was broken and was not told about it beforehand. read more

Take it easy on the underpaid staff, just kids. I love the "sweat" the place is getting a little tired, but still pretty well cleaned and maintained and is getting more popular as ressys are harder to make. I buy bundles of visits when they go on sale (or used to ?). read more

I struggled with the stars on this one because the first visit was 5 star but it slowly went downhill month after month. As apart of my wellness plan, I committed to 'me time' that I normally would not make time for. In addition to the health benefits, it gave me an hour to meditate and stretch which was purely restorative. The Scene Located in a bustling strip of Mt Pleasant this sauna feels like a dream. The interior is clean and well designed. Booking is as easy as downloading the app and choosing the day, time and room. Upon arrival, you select a scented cold compress and head to the sauna suite with adjustable lighting, and queue up your favorite playlist/show/podcast/routine on the iPad surround sound. When you're done, you can take a vitamin C infused shower and get dressed in the same suite. I hear there's even a beauty bar with blow dryers and flat irons but I was never shown that. I guess they didn't think I needed it? *looks at profile picture and shrugs* The Service I heard of this location through a Facebook post advertising a free session in October. As a new resident Charleston I knew Mt Pleasant wasn't far from West Ashley but I'd never been so I gave it a shot. I emerged from my suite like a butterfly from a cocoon, it felt wonderful but I was hesitant because of the drive. Upon check out, I let him know the situation and he stated that todays visit would be $30 if I didn't join but the membership is only $59 for two visits per month AND the WA location would be open on December 8. I agreed and signed up making the trek every other week. Fast forward to December and the WA office is not completed. I was told it was an electrical delay and it would be a couple more weeks. Here's where my dates get fuzzy but I spoke with Katie regarding my missed session because of the commute and it was a month after the expected opening. She wanted to argue about the distance but I wasn't entertaining someone telling me how to use my time and gas. She informed me that she could freeze my membership which happened without incident. I drove by WA several times and did not see much change so I cancelled my membership. I actually thought I'd already written this review but the constant emails and texts after I cancelled and unsubscribed made me come to Yelp to see if the location ever opened. Parting Thoughts - Great business model, poorly executed by Katie. Always be informed! CANCELLATION AND NO TRANSFER POLICY: Your membership and sessions are personal to you and may not be transferred or otherwise assigned to another person. You may cancel your SweatHouz membership at any time for any reason with 30 days written notice to SweatHouz. If you cancel your membership any unused sessions will expire and deemed forfeited by you and fully earned by SweatHouz. To cancel your membership, simply come into the studio and notify a SweatHouz staff member. Complete the cancellation form and return it as instructed. Your cancellation will be effective 30 days from SweatHouz processing the cancellation, resulting in you being billed one remaining billing cycle after your cancellation form has been received and processed. You will have 30 days after your final billing to use any remaining sessions on your account. SUSPENSION FEE: As a membership holder, you have the option to freeze your membership twice a year for up to 60 days at a time. Wow. When I first started going to this place I loved it, so great. Although very far from my home I was told a location would be opening in WA and was excited and figured I would stick it out. After not being able to use my membership at all for two months I decided to cancel. The WA location slated to be open in January is no where near complete. I gave my notice as required for cancellation. Low and behold my card was charged again this month. The manager stated because I had not confirmed that I did not want to transfer that is why my card was charged? What? In the two previous emails I had stated clearly I wanted to cancel. As well as the initial phone call where I was told I had to send an email. I was planning on rejoining WA once it opened but no thank you now. Additionally the facility was either cheaply made or massive wear and tear, handles broken off doors, doors that do not close fully, broken iPads, inability to connect music etc, dispensers that do not work. Don't fill out the survey with any complaints unless you want a nasty call from Katie. I left a 5/10 rating on the survey they ASKED via email to fill out...this wasn't even a public survey. Katie thinks it's a good idea to call me and confront me about the low rating starting with "first of all" you don't pay $180/month (my bad it's $130). I explain to her how every time I've gone to use the sauna the soap dispensers are empty or do not work. Then she asked me if I ever let anyone know or talk to anyone about it which I did. I also let her know that my low rating was because I had joined back in December under the impression that there would be a second location open in West Ashley in early January. It is now March and that location is not yet open. During my last session last week I asked that membership be paused and was told a note would be added as to why (waiting on W Ashley location to be opened). Also upon arrival I asked staff to make sure there was soap in the dispensers, but when I tried to use them they didn't dispense. I took them off the wall and opened the top to be able to shower...and I informed the staff u did this when I came out. After being so abrasively confronted by Katie on the phone I checked my bank account and sure enough they drafted a membership fee again. I called back and spoke to someone else who remembered me coming in last week and I asking to freeze my membership. I asked if Katie will also be the manager in West Ashley and I was told she would be so I've decided to end my membership entirely instead and I'm now hoping that I'll get a refund for the draft for this month. I've been to the sauna no more than eight times in the 2 1/2 months I've had a membership. Often times it's booked up for the times that work for me and it's also quite far from where I live. I really gave this place a shot and I was always courteous polite and patient when letting staff know when there were issues which was pretty much every time. I filled out a survey that they sent me and then got a nasty call from an incredibly rude and entitled manager. So here's my review in a public forum. I asked that any communication for going forward be done via email because I cannot stand to be on the phone with Katie another second. New to the Charleston area and heard of great things about SweatHouz. Naturally, I had to experience it for myself. The staff is so helpful! I called to book an appointment and was able to go that same day. I don't remember who I chatted with, but she was lovely! She told me all I needed to know about SweatHouz and shared drop-in prices/membership information. Upon arrival, I received we received a tour and got a more in depth rundown. The studio is so cute! I've been to a few similar spots in Virginia, but this studio goes above and beyond. They offer a variety of cold towels to use after each session - my sister and I chose the lavender ones. The personal sauna suites have SO much to offer: shower (with body wash, shampoo, conditioner), hair ties, towels (for sauna & for shower), deodorant, water, and an iPad to either watch a show/movie or listen to a podcast/music. You can also customize the lighting for different chromotherapy options. Safe to say, I absolutely LOVED my experience here and cannot wait to book my next session! I look forward to the studio opening more locations, so everyone can experience this luxury! read more

The SweatHouz staff is very informative and super friendly & helpful! I joined a few weeks ago and have noticed a huge difference in my body...I'm no longer achy all over and the sauna experience is truly amazing. Many different "moods" can be created by the lighting and of course, the music you choose to listen to depending on your frame of mind. Bluetooth is offered in every suite for your 1 hour visit. A refreshing cold compress is a part of the experience as well, just choose your favorite scent. My current fav is eucalyptus, but citrus, peppermint and many other scents are available. But, I must admit that the Vitamin C shower at the end is definitely my favorite part!!! read more

The experience in the physical sauna is okay. Typical infrared but after a relax the last thing you want is to be harassed about joining their overpriced memberships.. DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS your phone number!!!! They will NEVER stop calling/texting you even if you ask them to stop. One of the women staff members who I've come to learn is the manager was very rude to another staff member who was in turn very curt to me when I asked for help with the iPad they have available for you (if it's not dead). The big sauna they advertise as a "couples suite" always smells awful. Business also claims to "deep clean" each suite but their staff is in/out too fast completely do so in my opinion. read more
