Plus, while they were closed for renovations I went to their much bigger Summerville Trolley location. If you're just looking for a regular globo gym, this is 5 stars. New equipment, improved lighting and everything is new. There are no 35lb plates, excluding and he HIIT Zone ones. They are missing the little half seat bench that you they used to have. Also the machines have less weights. If you're looking for a leg extension machine or leg curl machine, these are 200-260lbs. The good ones hit 360lbs. They have varieties of equipment, not everything is just 1 branch. I think it's mostly Matrix with some Nautilus stuff sprinkled in For those who have some specialities when they come to training, I'd say 5 stars for bodybuilders. 4 for power lifters and a generous 4 for CrossFit/hyrox folk. If you were coming to this location you ard forgiven if you don't notice all the changes. All the equipment is slick from the oils that are in new pads and equipment. They got rid of some good equipment like the T Bar Row, and then got smaller machines that allowed for more. The booty and glute room has a nice new belt squat, which shouldn't be over there is it's more quad dominant . Also, hip abductor machine but no adductor machine right next to it? They have some hip thrust equipment, from a belt hip thrust to some hip thrust elite machine with a bar. Their GHD machine is bad. You can't lock your feet/shins you. You can adjust the height, not lock yourself in. Also, they got the machine designed for short people because at maximum extension, it's too short. Now if you wonder why I knocked it down for powerlifters and those who do HIIT training, you'll either understand when you come in or you won't. I'm giving them 5 stars for what they are and what I use them for. I'm a natural bodybuilder who completes, they meet my needs. I don't do classes so can't comment on that.

Most were very nice pick up places to meet your next new friend. Not for me. Then I heard about Coastal Athletic Club. None of that there. It is new, extremely clean and efficient and they definitely cater to the serious. I am not one of those but they seem to like me as well. Always helpful, I have never seen an attitude from one employee toward any individual working out there. Even when I say " this machine is broken " ( lol) , they come and help me. They have tons of food and supplements that the clients seem to love and indulge in, I am not at that level yet. However , I have lost 30 pounds and finally feel like myself again. There are also powerlifting weights and platforms, plenty of cardio machines (treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stairmasters), and two posing rooms. They recently remodeled the bathrooms, painted the ceiling, and purchased even more equipment. My only gripe is that it's not in my backyard since Ashley Phosphate can be a nightmare at any given time of the day. However, trust me when I say that it's beyond worth it. Come out and support this business so they can expand into my backyard.

The gym's layout is different than my home location, but it makes for smooth movement. The gym is spacious, so even during peak times it was still manageable. The restroom/locker room area was always clean. The machines all worked. They were ample amounts of each machine, so there was little to no delay in a workout. The patrons were all focused and there was little to no texting and holding up machines. I enjoyed trying PF in a new city.
