    Damage to my watch
    Josh J.

Currently have my speedmaster sapphire sandwich with the company and has been a pleasant experience so far. The service times takes awhile but they are adding in a few other things to get my watch to a pristine working state. I'm excited about getting it back sometime in October. I'm just getting my bezel replaced and it will take about 2-3 months to get it back. I'll update once I get my watch back

If you ask AI what Swatch USA's reputation is, you get: Common Complaints: - Watches malfunctioning shortly after purchase - Straps that require frequent replacement - Difficulty with warranty and repairs - Frustration with customer service, especially for online orders and returns - Some reviews cite rude or unhelpful behavior from staff, and long response times. - The Better Business Bureau lists 48 complaints in three years, with unresolved cases mostly related to sluggish repair services and disputed return policies. If you google "Swatch US Reddit" the first result is "Why Is Swatch US Complete Trash?" This was my experience too. I ordered two watches, which arrived without shrink wrap and in subpar packaging. This was surprising until you realize how they approach returns. I tried them on in my house, wasn't satisfied, and returned them within the 14 day return period. A week later the box arrived back on my doorstep. There were no details, just a template rejection letter (see image). I was confused. I called in and they said both watches were damaged. This was strange, since both were like new, and I've never had this kind of issue before. For example, I don't buy AppleCare, since I've never scratched an iPhone. Ask yourself - what are the odds that I bought two watches, damaged both of them, then returned them? When's the last time that happened to you? That's why I get scam energy from these people. Got that gut feeling when I talked to them as well. They'll respond with their polite corporate language here, but I still wonder, as one Redditor put it, "why is Swatch US complete trash"? I'm reporting it to the Better Business Bureau, and wanted to warn you here so you don't lose a few hundred bucks to these hucksters like I did. I thought it would be fun to have an analog watch, but I'll be sticking to Apple from now on.

I am giving my experience a five-star today. I stopped by Swatch Group in Culver City to remove additional links on my Tissot watch. I was immediately greeted by a very nice lady who took my watch to the back and had the links removed in less than 10 minutes, free of charge. I was even gifted a Tissot box and travel pouch. Knowing that the repair center is behind my workplace, I will physically stop by for all my Swatch branded watch needs.

They honored my Tissot warranty and even shipped it back to me fast! All employees I've worked with are nice and welcoming.

So a few weeks later I found a pocket of time to bring it back in, I brought the diamond with me this time. The guy told me the first time I would need to leave the ring with him so he could do a full inspection or something like that, which I thought was strange, but this was my first time having any sort of jewelry repaired, so I'm not sure exactly what protocol looks like. This time I came in close to closing time, he didn't even ask for the diamond, he just looked at the ring for literally 2 seconds and then quoted me $400!!! So I made a second trip there that was apparently unnecessary since he could have just given me that quote the first time. . I thought that price sounded literally insane for a ring that is probably worth slightly more than $400, so I declined. Online it says having a ring re-set should cost around $50-$150. I was able to take the ring elsewhere and have it repaired and polished within minutes for $40 which they did in front of me. Sounds like from the other reviews this guy seems to be dishonest, and that was definitely my impression by the $400 repair quote. I really can't stand dishonest people and people that waste my time. Please do better.

They also cleaned my vintage white-gold-and-diamond daisy ring - it looked amazing after. I even got some Christmas shopping at J.C. Penney done while they got to work. Looking forward to bringing a few pieces I bought online to find out whether they're plated or 14k (I suspect those are plated. The ones I already know are real are obvious.) I'd honestly recommend this shop to anyone who needs anything fixed that the shop specializes in. It's worth getting your mementos fixed - you'll enjoy them so much more afterwards!

They completed the work, I paid, and only one hour later the steel bracelet came apart and my watch fell to the ground. When I returned and showed them what happened, I expected them to apologize and fix the issue. Instead, they claimed that they had extended it from another side and told me it was my fault, asking me to pay again for the repair. This is completely unacceptable. I have been wearing this watch for three years without any problems, and it broke just one hour after their service. The responsibility should have been taken, but instead I was blamed for their work. I cannot recommend this place. Very disappointing service and poor quality workmanship. Never go this place.
