I use to shop at Swap often and would buy things for myself and daughter. I recently told her the name of the store and she finds the prices are overpriced and she mentioned it to Swap over Instagram. Randi responded and suggested my daughter shops at Goodwill and thanks for giving her greatly appreciated and not asked for opinion. Signed Randi :) . This left me with the impression that customer input is not valued and that concerns are met with sarcasm rather than professionalism. As much money I spend there, I felt applaud and very hurt. Hands down my favorite boutique EVER. Not only is it affordable clothes with better quality than you can get anywhere else, but it also supports local women and sustainability. After shopping at Swap for 2-3 years instead of online or at the mall, I not only updated my wardrobe but could proudly say over 50% of my closet was not new to me. I'm not a fan of fast fashion and the damage it causes to the environment, but I also don't like to dress thrifty. Swap is the farthest thing from thrifty. The women working there have such a good eye for all different styles, and are so friendly and helpful. I always had a ton of luck finding things that not only fit but that I LOVE. Pro tip: look beyond your normal sizes! Go larger and smaller and you'll have more luck finding hidden gems. read more

I haven't had too much luck here in past shopping trips, but today was certainly different. Not to mention they were having a wonderful Labor Day sale, I found one of my preferred designers for about 50% off the regular price. Add the sale in, and I paid 1/4 the amount I would have had I purchased this in the store as i nearly did earlier this year. The tags were still on the dress, and there were no issues with it. My friend got two pieces of jewelry for less that had she purchased one piece at the name store. She is a more frequent "Swap Shopper" than I am, and I just know that I need to make some additional trips there to see if there is anything else. ((You also get 25% off in your birthday month!)) LOVE this boutique! I tell all my friends about this place and to shop here! Everything is gently used, NWT, or NWOT and almost everything is designer! Everything is trendy, in style, and fashion towards whatever season you're in. The staff are very helpful and the boutique is always clean and organized which is very important! If you are trying to sell your clothes on consignment with them - They are VERY picky about what they will take...but I guess that's why their selection is so great lol! They also do random sales / deals if you are a loyal customer and give them your email...but they don't email ALL the time, which I super appreciate! If you get lucky, you may find a deeply discounted item that still has tags on it. Watch for sales, too because they get some pretty good ones. I brought in a brand new pair of shoes, box and all, that I paid $200 for. They were current, in style, expensive brand booties. When my consignment was up they had sold the shoes and some brand name shorts and they gave me $20. $20?!?! Obviously I won't be going back. Just trying to give you a heads up not to waste your time. I seriously feel like someone stole from me. How in the world do they get by doing business like that?! Do NOT bring your items there!! You'd be much better off selling online or bringing them to Plato's Closet. I thought because they were a "higher end" store that selling there would result in more for the items. I would've easily gotten triple that at Plato's Closet and cash in hand that day. What a TERRIBLE experience!! HORRIBLE!!!! Update: After going in to get my leftover things, they apologized for my experience. I asked them to show me the breakdown. I actually got $12 for the $200 pair of shoes. Wow, just wow. And if you were actually sorry for my experience you wouldn't proceed to hand me a $20 check after saying that. You would make it right. Am I right?! And the owner had full knowledge of the situation. Seems like she may needs some tips on running a business where you do right by the people that keep you in business. You're selling OTHER people's clothes!! We're the OTHERS!! What a garbage experience! I literally had to tell the girl I couldn't talk about it and leave. I told her I didn't want her to get the brunt of it. She admitted that they need to explain the contract better. They don't let customers know what their items are being priced at. Had they let me know that there was even a possibility that this would happen I would've taken my things and left. But they know that though, hence the reason they don't. I love shopping at Swap Boutique in Baton Rouge. Most of my purchases are done online as I live out of town. When I travel to BR I go into the shop.
