The Refinery is a nice clean little place. They have very nice children's clothes, but they are a little overpriced. With another children's consignment shop close by (and just by using common sense) it is easy to compare where prices should be and these are definitely high. The store is also very small. It is extremely difficult to look through the racks because the clothes are very close together. Also if there are other customers in the store you can not get past. I have never sold any clothing here so I can not speak to the experience of that process. Perhaps the prices are higher because they pay more to the seller? Who knows. read more

I randomly stopped Monday to check them out and I'm thrilled I did! In less then 20 minutes I found 9 pairs of pants (5 pairs still had tags on them) for my little boy. They were from the Gap and Gymboree. I also found 7 pairs of Nikes. One pair I found I bought for my friends little girl(she loved them). They were all in GREAT condition and some pairs didn't look worn at all! Sunday I had just bought him a pair of Nikes and one pair looked identical in style to his new pair. I wish I could return the new pair. My husband was even impressed and he usually can care less about me shopping for the kiddos. I'm thrilled I found this store and will come back!!!! read more

I have wanted to check out this place for a while. Very organized, excellent selection and great prices! The brands and quality were both great. The staff was very friendly. The only downfall is how tight the store is. There were four others shopping when my daughter and I visited and it was tough to navigate each aisle. She also had to sit in the middle of the floor in front of the register to try on her shoes. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend. Happy to finally try them out. read more

Children grow so quickly, right? So, I have never really understood why anyone would buy children's clothing at super expensive prices. Well, REfinery can help you buy high-end children's clothing at a lower cost, if you are big on brand names. They carry gently-used children's clothing at discount prices. Plus, if you are looking for toys and other kids stuff, you'll love this store. I have even gone here for some new stuff, too. I don't find their prices super competitive, but they do have some lovely items that I know my little girl would love. If you'd like to sell, they can do that here, too! So, why the 3-stars? Cleanliness of clothing is always a factor, plus they don't always have a huge selection that would keep me engaged as a customer. There in another store like this, but with more choices, so I don't make my way back here too often. This is all my opinion, so check it out for yourself, if you want to buy or sell. Experiences are different for everyone, so you may like it better than me. They are located on Sherwood (closer to the I-12), so be sure to pop on by. What an awesome find! I had no idea this place was here until I went with my friend last week. It was great! While it is a small shop they have quite a large selection of little girls clothes -- mostly high end. I could have shopped for days for my great niece! There were adorable smocked dresses, shoes and bows! I loved the fact that everything was so well priced, too! While there are not as many little boy clothes there were a decent selection. I purchased a wonderful Gymboree hoodie for just $3.50, a pair of Gymboree wind pants for $3 and a Tom Petty kids tee for $3. All were like brand new and you cannot beat that!! My friend got an amazing deal on a bassinet for her brand new niece. It was practically brand new and in amazing shape. We were thrilled to find such a great deal. I will definitely be back! Overall, just skip this resale shop. The clothes are okay, decent selection with okay prices. The prices however, aren't as good as sales on new clothes at the mall or regular prices at the outlet mall. The prices on toys and other goods are very high. Some of the used toys are priced equal or higher to prices on new toys on Amazon. For selling, don't waste your time. They consistently offer 10-15% of the retail price. The employees are hit or miss for niceness. One older woman is abrasive, grumpy, and pushy. Another one was super sweet. Given the environment and their high prices, it's not worth shopping or selling here. read more

I went in for the first time this past weekend. Went in to sell some things, which I wasn't impressed with how much they offered me for brand new items, but I was able to get a bumbo very cheap and a blue Jean old Navy dress with tags still on it. The bumbo looked barely used. The only thing I didn't like about the store was it has too much in such a tiny space. More then one preggo can't fit down the same aisle. It was fairly busy when I went but I did feel a bit trapped. Probably will go back to buy not sell. read more

I just can't give high ratings to consignment stores. I walk in there and feel like the majority of things are dirty. They had a huge selection of clothes for both boys and girls. The toy selection was large as well. I thought they were lacking in the maternity section. They were a little picky on buying things from customers. I think it's ridiculous that I should have to buy new batteries for toys that I'm trying to sell. I believe that the store should keep them on hand. I wasn't thrilled with the boys clothes for size 8, which is what I particularly needed. I guess I was looking for more along the lines of Gap and Polo and in that size, which was rare. Overall, if you're looking to score some good deals on used clothes and toys, head on over there. read more

I love this store, it is so clean and they are very selective in the items that they buy, so I never have to worry about the quality of the clothes or shoes. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about all of the things they buy or sell. If they are unsure about an item such as the weight limits or anything else they have no problem researching it before you purchase the product. read more

The tall, younger, black woman working behind the counter was inconsiderate, rude, bossy, and unprofessional. Not only did she lack manners, but her shirt was not completely covering her backside which exposed a few of her back rolls. Very distasteful. I went there last Thursday, and bought a few outfits, bows, and a baby carrier. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I went back with my friend Monday, and she bought a bouncer, LSU outfit, and smocked dress. Very nice clothing, and the staff was once again friendly. I went back yesterday to try and get rid of some of my daughters things she didn't need and was treated BEYOND POORLY. I went into the store yesterday with a handful of clothes that were on hangers in one hand and a bagful of clothes in my other hand. Noone was at the counter. I asked the lady standing next to the counter if she was also selling, and she said yes. Then the above-mentioned lady comes to the counter and says hi to me. I told her I wanted to sell my items. She snapped, "you have a group ahead of you." (That I already knew.) I said ok. She asked if I had sold to them before, and I said no. She handed me a form to fill out. Their counter was covered with closed, plastic bins. I laid the clothes that were on hangers on top of one of the closed bins. She snapped, "mam, you cannot put your stuff there. I need you to pick it up and put it in a bin." So I picked my stuff back up. I wouldn't talk to my dog as rudely and bossy as she did me. She then hung a plastic bin off the side of the counter, and told me, "just leave it on the floor." I had my stuff in my hands since I had been reprimanded like a child and apparently broke some sort of company rule by sitting my stuff on the counter. Where was this bin before I was asked to fill out the paperwork with the hangers and bag in my hands? She gave me the stink eye as I put my stuff in the bin she was dangling off the counter because I didn't put the bin on the floor then put my stuff in it! I was so befuddled by the experience that I left my purse in the bin accidentally. I will tell my friends, and anyone else I meet that I was treated poorly, and not to shop there. I will not be bringing my high chair or stroller there, either. read more

Few stores, especially of this category will ever be perfect, but this is as good as it gets. Their niche is selling boutique, custom made, specialty brands such as Matilda Jane, smocked clothes, Jelly and Pug, Lily P., Feltman Brothers, RL Polo etc and not overstocking more common mall labels such as Carters, Children's Place etc. As a person who has been shopping here for four years--since daughter was born--it has been frustrating at times as a consigner to take clothing here that looks great to me, but they politely refuse due to a little ww or a hard to find stain/mark. However, this also makes them GREAT for when you want to buy something that is often new or barely looks worn at all. I can actually let my child wear something from there w/o washing. You don't have to worry about smoke smells, or dirty clothes with pet dander etc. Lindsey (sorry on spelling) and Ms. Emily are a joy and so accommodating and helpful. Of course when they are busy you shouldn't expect them to stop what they are doing to look over what you want to sell--this is a really small and intimately run shoppe of typically 1 - 2 workers daily. Small but mighty in great brands, condition and great pricing. My picky 4 year old loves one of the employees in particular and will ask to go to store just to visit and tell her about they day she has had:) read more
