Actually never had service done here. Tried coming in on 2 separate occasions. Called in advance to ask wait time, both times was told 10-15 minute wait. Get there and I'm waiting 35-45 minutes and still haven't been serviced. I just walk out and drive somewhere else. Being a mom, I'm constricted on time. Nails take 35 minutes to an hour to start, then sitting and waiting adds on to that. Can't speak to the customer service or the actual nail quality. read more

I am thrilled for a new, clean nail salon in Whiting as there are none (read: clean nail salons). I'm hopeful and want to love this place as it will save me from going to Streeterville to my old nail salon in the city. The place is cute and brand new but a big pain point right now is the lack of communication. As the child of immigrants, I'm very sensitive to non-English speakers, but by God they need at least one person here who has comprehension and can speak English. The staff cannot even answer basic questions. It makes for a poor experience when you cannot even ask about their services and what they offer or the temperature of the water. Secondly, you need to actually soak a person's feet in some kind of soak, be it salts or something to cleanse the foot. The man working here basically told me he doesn't have that and looked at me like I was insane for asking. At least buy Epsom salts that would do as it does not clean nor disinfect the foot. It's great they gave scrubs but soaking feet in a solution like Epsom salts is not an extra request it's standard and hygienic. read more

I been to this place before. I decided to go again last week and I am very very disappointed at this place that I would never refer this nail shop not even to a bum in the streets. First everyone in there dont speak english. I got a pedi and mani cure. The man never cleaned the brush they scrub your bottom of your feet with after he scrubbed my feet, he just put it back in the bucket on the bottom of his cart. Then I said somehting so he started speaking in their language which is not English. He act like he didnt hear me then I got a manicure. The man sprayed some solution on my fingers and I said wait what are you doing and he said manicure right, I said yeah but where is the water I'm suppose to soak my fingers in before the manicure. He said the solution he used is better than water. I said that is incorrect and this is not sanitary at all! This place DOES NOT SANITIZE ANYTHING THEY USE! Only one or 2 young girls in there understood English, but they still had the nerve to charge me 67.00 for a un-sanitized pedicure and manicure. I had very poor service! A employee should NOT leave you in the water for 20 minutes just so they can start ask for the color and everything just to go in the back to eat.. I gave this place three chances and each time they let me down. Twice was with the same person young lady named eli. The man was very professional and made my toes very nice the first time so i tried each time time after that and just was not what i was expecting. First i waited 20 minutes in the water. I timed the wait because they did the same thing last time. Waited 3 hours to be waited on. Grabbing my jacket about to leave because i knew it was going to be another bad day with this company. Manicures are always so thin and always break within a few days. Eli kept trying to add items when i get the same thing each time i go and they always try changing the price. I purposely grew my nails out so i can get them long and square but she cut my pinky toe sooo short she barely left me with any nail. She tried to fill in my nails with acrylic and i had to tell her to file it down. Then she left my nails all uneven. After all this i had to remind her to scrub and file and even cut my cuticles! I should be able to sit and relax not watch this employee to make sure she does it right. Not only did she keep asking me how they looked i had to keep telling her how to file my nails after she messed up. She charged me to fix the errors she made! She had other employees looking at her work and they shook their head at her and didn't respond. Every time i asked her to correct something she would say in a different language to someone and laugh. Which i found VERY RUDE! Not only that i asked if the two big toes looked even she stood up to look and said ooo yeaaa and fixed it. I know daum well my toe don't go like that sorry lol. Not only this but thats not all.. when she was cleaning under my nails she was wiping it on me! After she painted my toes i asked why didn't she paint the top of my toes and only the top view she said thats just the way she does it and didn't want to correct it without an extra charge. After almost 20 dollars later of her charging to fix her mistakes i still was no where near satisfied. I stopped her once again and asked if she will just get me out the chair and let me pay so i can just leave. I had to go to a whole different salon just to fix the disaster she did. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! The audacity of this lady asking me if this is my first time.. just stay away! read more

This place is disgusting and they charge way too much for terrible work. My sister got an infection in her nail because of how dirty they are. I wanted to treat my sister for her birthday and then bam her nail starts to become infected days later. The towels they used were heavily used already and were not even washed. They overcharge because their work is terrible and they need to make money somehow. Most of their staff isn't actually properly licensed but no one says anything...NEVER going back read more

This nail salon is super clean and consistent. The people who work here are always friendly and greet you upon entering. The prices are comparable to the neighborhood and the polish selection is good. A little detail I love is that they use a plastic cover for the foot basin so it's just that much more hygienic. read more

I gave this nail salon a try bc it's to home, I made a appointment and it was honerd for the time. But unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with both my manicure and pedicure service. From my perspective and point of view there not very good with sanitation, while I was there one of the nail technicians drop a box of nails on the floor and she continued to work on a guest as another guest came to pick them up from the floor and but them back on the box they were in and never sanitized them or rinse them out. Not really practicing social distance as the salon is small. During the time I was there were 8 guest waiting plus the employees. Yes they were wearing masks but still it was very overcrowded. I've visited this location a few times now,and as excited as I was to have a Nail Salon 5 minutes away, it's also been disappointing over time. As they have increased in business the quality of work some of the techs give is poorly done. I went in yesterday for a no-chip manicure,and not only did I have to wait 30 minutes for a tech to get to me but the tech that did, left my nails all clumpy. She noticed one had a clump,and continued to work on it trying to fix it by adding another layer. By the time she was done, I had to leave, and no time to have them fixed. The logical thing would be to have more techs so it accomodates the number of walk-ins,and not having 1 tech working on two people back and forth at the same time. It would also help the techs FOCUS on the quality of the work on the one person, instead of rushing because they have so many people in the salon and not enough techs. read more

I am starting a new job where my appearance will be more important so I thought I would start getting my nails done. I have never been to a nail salon so I researched what I wanted done and having moved near Swan thought it would be convenient to start going there. I read the reviews and looked over their service price list. I called to ask a few questions and make an appointment. I was told they don't make appointments but weren't busy so I said I would be right there. I got there at 2:30 and told the lady who I was and that we had just talked on the phone. I showed her a picture of a short length American Gel tips with on their price list is $40. She said something to a young lady that I didn't understand but I knew I was to follow her. She instructed me to sit at a pedicure seat and I said I wasn't there for that. She really insisted I sit there so I brought it to the attention of the first lady who again said something to the younger woman that I didn't understand. We then sat across from each other and right next to the work station of the woman who I had had my conversations with. I again showed my picture and said what I wanted. The young lady did some 'prep' work but then seemed like she was just going to paint my nails. I showed her the picture again and a screenshot of their price list AMERICAN GEL TIPS $40. She got up got some supplies and stated doing different work. I've never had tips before so I thought I might be wrong about how "GEL TIPS" are made, or maybe they no longer had that service and only did Acrylic, so I let her go at it. She glued 3 tips on and the first lady yelled at her "NO, American Tips". She filled a bowl of acetone and put my hand in it to soak them off. She got a container of crystal clear tips and started applying them. 8 nails later the first lady (who had been sitting right next to us working on another customer and had to have been watching) yelled at her again "NO, American Tips" and got up and grabbed a box of tips for a work station in front. She had to have been watching her get the clear tips and apply them to 8 of my fingers. I stopped them there and said we can't start again, just go with what I have on. I was told that they would paint them to look like what I wanted. Okay. The first lady took over and trimmed the tips but not very far and not rounded. I showed the picture again and asked "Are we going to end up here?". I was told "Yes". A third lady came and said she would do the painting. She used a Dremel tool but didn't shorten my nails hardly at all and they were oddly duck bill shaped. I AGAIN showed my picture and said "I keep showing this picture". I absolutely wanted the most basic clear polish, short length, rounded nails. Hoped for GEL TIPS because I read there were healthier, received ACRYLIC but that is cheaper so at least a bargain? All the while, on the television, is a marathon of a crime show that had nothing but child molesting, not at all the relaxing spa day I thought I would treat myself to. I was near Panic Attack level. At 5:30, 3 hours later I was done, not that my nails looked done. They are an odd color, lumpy on top, unnatural as heck. I followed the 3rd employee to the desk and the first woman shouted things up at her. She listed the "'services' provided to me" , "THIS AND THIS ,AND THIS..." $50!!! According to SWAN price list ACRYLIC NAILS are $30 ??? $50 !??! I didn't get $40 GEL NAILS. I sat through mistake after mistake while my technician was being reprimanded. I know I should have questioned the charged on the spot but to whom? And I just wanted out of there. I paid it, and I tipped them. I know, I know... After being nearly in tears for a while I decided to write a review. Thing is, they could have had a long time customer. They got $20 too much on Friday but I will NEVER go back there. read more

As a licensed nail technician myself I was so disappointed and upset. I feel like they tried to scam me thinking I wouldn't know gel from acrylic... THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS GEL POWDER!!! so if you go here and ask for a gel fullset just don't! Because you'll really be getting acrylic. If I could give this place zero Stars I would. I just left the salon it's new in my area and I thought I'd give it a try. The environment seemed Pleasant enough I was told to choose what polish I like and I was asked what services I require. I noticed that the pedicure bowls are outlined with a plastic cover which is a plus however, I was seated and the experience began ! The young lady that serviced me appear to have an attitude, a bad attitude, as if I offended her for even sitting down. Within 10 minutes she was ready to polish my toes. She hadn't shaped them, she didn't ask if I wanted my toenails filed and the polish that I had previously on my toes , was not completely removed. I looked at her and she looked at me with a frown on her face. I asked her to file my toenails and clean my cuticles. She acted as if she had no clue as to what I was saying. The lady next to me, a Caucasian woman began to speak out at the same time that I did, and said, "she didn't even clean your cuticles"! Oh don't ever ask for her again ! The manager had to come over and finish servicing me and even she screamed the lady's name Joanne ! and began to speak in her native tongue. Though she did apologize to me, something just didn't seem right, so I continue to look around the shop and watch how the other women in the shop were being serviced. I noticed that the young lady that spoke up with me was still in the chair getting a nice little pedicure for well over 45 minutes while I was done with in 20. I even noticed a Caucasian lady bring her daughter in probably about 12 years old to get a manicure and the gentleman that serviced her spent nearly 45 minutes on the young lady. Shortly thereafter, an African-American woman brought her daughter in to get a manicure and the Man spent all but 15 minutes on this young lady's toes. At that point in time it was quite clear to me that the owners of this shop believe somehow that black women expect less and have decided that is what they were going to render. I am a successful black woman that does not believe anyone who behaves in such a manner towards me or any other race, does not deserve my business and my hard earned money. I can go home and do my own manicure. The bottom feeders that owns that salon does not deserve business of any nature. I will never Patron the shop again. I went to this salon 3 days ago to get an acrylic full set. I arrived at 1:30 and left there at 5:30. When I first arrived they let me know the approximate wait time which he said was about 45 minutes. Not only was the wait long but while I was there, I had 3 people work on my nails. One man glued on the nails and I waited 45 minutes for another lady to put on the acrylic then she got up and left saying they needed to dry and worked with another customer for 30 minutes. She then returned to me only to file the nails for 2 minutes, which still remained bumpy. She then pointed over to where another lady was sitting who finally painted my nails. I would rate this place 0 stars if possible, the wait was long, the service was horrible and my nails, which are supposed to last for about 3 weeks, have already come off.
