Made a pre-procedure appointment and when I arrived I was told the nurse I was supposed to see wasn't in. "Oh we tried to call you" - um NO, no one called me or left a message. There are better offices with much better customer care in Tucson. Please pick another one, I am sue you will get better care elsewhere! read more

I had an extensive conversation with the receptionist before scheduling my appointment, especially since I would be driving 70 miles to get there. I was assured that this office performs ERCP procedures and places pancreatic stents. I arrived 15 minutes early, only to sit in the lobby for 1 hour and 15 minutes. When I was finally taken back, the nurse had no knowledge of pancreatic issues or ERCP and informed me that they do not perform these procedures at all. After being given completely inaccurate information and then treated rudely by the nurse, I ultimately had to walk out. Given my experience, I strongly encourage others to look elsewhere before investing your time, money, or trust in this establishment. read more

I called multiple times to make an appointment. The call is put into a queue and after 10 min disconnects. I called 4 times and finally got through. On the day of appointment, I arrived early for my 3:15 appointment to complete new patient paperwork (of which you don't receive copies). I'm taken to the exam room at 3:45. The NP comes in @ 4:09 apologizes for the wait and said she couldn't find my chart. There is a sign in the exam room that apologizes for the long wait. What?!? If it happens so often you have to put a sign in the exam room could you be overbooking? Churning patients through? She takes my history. Then I hear her conveying my history to the doctor (Deeb) in the hallway. He comes in and asked the same questions the NP asked. His summary is that my symptoms are probably from food poisoning. He schedules me for EGD and colonoscopy. After thinking about this office and their lack of patient focus, I've cancelled my procedures. The number you have to call to cancel is the same number to make appointments and again, the call is put into the queue and disconnects after 10, leaving you to call again and have the same experience. When in the office, I shared that my husband was also referred and kept calling to make an appointment but never got through, the receptionist apologized and said there are only two operators managing calls. She offered to have someone call my husband but he has already received a referral to another GI office. read more

My Primary Care Dr called for Dr Mezher to get me in for a sooner appointment then October 1st. She called August 25th when I was released from the hospital. Hospital said I need to see a Gastro Doctor asap. He never called my Dr to discuss. I called and pleaded with them for a follow up. NOTHING. Sad! read more

I gave this review two stars solely because of the staff whom I would actually give 3 or 4 stars to, but as for the doctor himself, it would be a HUGE ZERO stars. The office staff that I've spoken with on the phone has been friendly, helpful and kind each time I called. Now, as for the doctor that I was assigned to, Dr Weiss or Wise (not exactly sure of the spelling), I actually saw him once before a few years back, he had scheduled me for a some testing then, but due to work at the time I was not able to follow through since I wasn't able to get the time off to do it. Wasn't super impressed with him then. Fast forward to now, was referred to Swan Gastro and assigned to the same doctor again for different testing, I've had to reschedule my appointment several times, sometimes the morning of, due to multiple current disabling conditions that have developed over the past few years (I literally do not know from day to day if I will be able to get up and physically walk or even leave my house that day) along with having an urgent and unexpected move to attend to. This last time I attempted to reschedule, I was told that the doctor will not see me since I have reschedule multiple times, regardless of explaining my conditions and situation to them. (I do understand that doctors and their offices have to have policies regarding these kinds of situations having worked in medical offices myself prior to becoming disabled.) In the end, I'm sure this was actually for the best because why would I logically want to see any kind of doctor whom LACKS ANY KIND OF UNDERSTANDING OR COMPASSION for what a person is physically and /or mentally dealing with. Especially a doctor that is supposed to be doing any kind of surgical procedure, makes you question how they would be in regard to aftercare if complications arise. read more

I was uninformed about what the procedure would be and how to set it up at the certain hospital but I went into their Sierra Vista Office and talked to "Jasmin" and she was so pleasant and smiled the whole time we spoke and now I understand all I need to know because of her efficient use of the tools she had before her and she told me to come back in a week and she would have the whole folder ready for me to take to the Hospital. I am a retired nurse and I am very disappointed in the care that I have received here. The experience has been unacceptable in my opinion. I have been waiting for a call back to schedule a follow-up appointment with the doctor 2.5 weeks. I had acute pancreatitis months ago and was told by the receptionist to get gas supplements. I advised her to deliver my message to the doctor at which point she told me doctor said it was ok for me to get the gas supplement. Totally unacceptable! I have tried twice to get a call back from office manager only to get no response. I don't recommend this office at all. It's unfortunate that this office is run this way. I had read all the bad reviews and thought maybe it was the patient and I would just make sure to say communicated with the doctor. Stay away from this office if you want to get the care you deserve. read more

Sierra Vista Office. Post-procedure follow-up appointment is a sham. Rather than simply making a phone call to follow-up, they make an in-office appointment so they can bill your insurance provider. The nurse literally read the doctor's report to me...the same report the Doctor himself read to me immediately after the procedure. The visit was nothing more than a way to collect more insurance money. When I asked why I had to come in and not a phone call, I was told everyone has to come in. Apparently, my two neighbors and wife aren't "everyone" since they instead were called on the phone. I tried to call and cancel the appointment, or talk to the nurse, and was told the doctor ordered the appointment and it couldn't be cancelled unless I paid for the visit. The actual procedure was fantastic and the doctor and staff were great. read more

0 stars I've been through three levels of testing. They were supposed to call me after my last test, almost three weeks ago. There's no place to leave a message. They never sent me a link to the portal. I got the answering service once. Still no call back. I don't live in Tucson it's a two hour drive. I've never experienced this. Never. Unfortunately I have lots of experience in medical situations of all kinds. I've had 5 abdominal surgeries and no less than 8 different GI doctors in my life so far. The provider was nice but they need to check their staff. Now I have to take a whole day to go to the office. I might just hit up the board or BBB. I just had $10,000 worth of tests. They can't make any more money off me because I need a surgeon. This is sickening. read more

Cannot recommend Swan Gastro. Saw her few years ago for GERD. And unexplained chronic pain in my back. Thanks to CQCH Douglas Simmons in the Hereford Clinic I know it's caused by a benign liver mass. And that I have a very sensitive upper intestine that cannot digest certain foods I.e. radishes, grapes and grape juice, and pineapple is the worst pain of it all. And for the doctor's diagnosis of obsessed with endometriosis you could have contacted Tacoma General Hospital up in WA. They have my uterus in a jar. And that wasn't the only discrepancy- I'm not 5'2" raspberry blonde with blue eyes. That's the cousin in Havasu who has frontal dementia now and it has her rewriting our history to keep her from facing traumas caused by our abusive uncles. Hope she can be integrated. She has 12 aliases on the internet now. And has no connection with me. She's liar in a reality of her own making. Third generation of dementia and I had to bail. She needs more help than I can give her. Now I can only send love and prayers. To Sierra Vista as well. If this happened to me? How many other seniors here are targets of identity thieves conning our physicians? CQCH is where seniors in Cochise County need to go for caring and supportive healthcare. They listened and treated my body, not my cousin Sharon's. read more

They make you wait forever to mar their crappy consultation appointment. I then sat for nearly an hour to be seen. No apology whatsoever for keeping me waiting. Literally all the things I was asked or told could have been done through email, website, and phone. The "examination" was cursory at best and could have been done by a primary (you know, the one you get the referral from). The person I saw seemed unhappy that I said this was all whatever to her asking if I had any questions. Yes, I was irritable because my time was wasted. I'd rather not deal with this again--wh8ch is basically what I was promised because my insurance is switching. No, thanks. read more

Very efficient care. Organised and experienced. They found and fixed the problem right away.

Note: This is during the covid-19 pandemic. Doctor referred me to them for endoscopy. They aren't doing any teledoc appointments so I had to go in. Their office waiting area is small and there was really no way to socially distance. I had a man coughing his lungs out right behind me. They informed me they were taking temperatures when I had called on the phone. They did but not until I was actually called back to the exam rooms. The front desk staff were very nice. I am prone to anxiety and they were very calming. Their intake forms are LGBTQ inclusive. The doctor seemed knowledgeable but the bedside manner was just not for me. I felt like I was being interrogated with rapid fire questions. He felt my abdominal area and left. The whole thing took maybe 5min. That approach works for some people, so if that's you then you may like him. They do nothing electronic. I had to call in to a billing service to pay my bill or send CC info in the mail. read more

I am giving this one star because I was never able to make an appointment. I was told three times by the office staff that they did not have my referrals. I had my doctor fax them again. I called after a week, more than enough time to receive a fax, and was told twice I need the date and TIME of fax to find my referral. How would I know the exact time? I have had multiple referrals to a multitude of specialty care doctors and have never been asked for the time of the fax in order to find it. Dr. Kisso Bassell MD your staff was rude and hung up on me. They were very unprofessional and were not willing to offer or find any solutions to this problem. read more

I was referred to Swan Gastroenterolgy in Sierra Vista by the VA Community Care Service. I am a 20 Year, Retired Veteran, and have spent most of my Professional Career in Information Technology and Security. Let's start with the basics. I received an email from Swan Gastroenterology notifying me of my appointment for my consult, and requesting that I register for their "Patient Portal" to fill out my pre-screen paperwork. The link for the registration form for the portal provided a standard form that I was supposed to fill out online. In order to complete the form, I was supposed to enter a "pin", which they had provided in the unencrypted email. Pretty much useless for protecting my information. The form itself asks for several pieces of "personally identifiable information" including a "Security Question" and a "Security Question Answer". At the bottom of the form there is a "checkbox" to "accept" the "terms of use", with the statement just below the box "By clicking in this box I certify that I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions and Patient Rights." The text on the statement words "Privacy Policy", "Terms and Conditions" and "Patient Rights" are highlighted, implying that clicking on these words will take you to each of these documents. They do not. Clicking each of these highlighted words resulted in a "pop-up" window that stated "Refer to your practice's privacy policies and terms and conditions." Needless to say, I did not register for their "Patient Portal". When I arrived at the Sierra Vista office for my appointment, I was given several forms to fill out prior to being seen. Pretty standard so far, with the exception of the largest Silverfish I have ever seen in my entire life, crawling around in the waiting room, of a facility that is, after all, a Medical Treatment Facility where they are presumably going to conduct a Medical Procedure on me in a few days. After I filled out the paperwork, I asked the girl at the desk for the "Patient Privacy Policy" and "Patients Rights" Statements. She handed me a copy of the "48 Hour Procedure Cancellation Policy" form, I had just filled out. I explained that this was not the Patient Privacy Policy nor the Patients Rights Statements. She then handed me a copy of the "HIPAA Authorization for use or Disclosure of Health Information" form, which hadn't been in the forms I was asked to fill out, but was supposed to be filled out by the Patient. After another round of explaining this wasn't what I was requesting, and her having to consult a co-worker, she victoriously produced the "HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices" form, which, of course, was not what I had requested. By this time, I was called back for my consult, so I decided I would take it up with the person conducting the consultation. When that person (Nurse? Doctor? Janitor? She never said.) came to the room, I explained my difficulty in obtaining, what should be, standard documents for any Medical Business. I showed her what I'd been given, and she told me that the "HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices" form, was the Patient Privacy Policy and the Patients Rights Statements that I was requesting. Just to be clear, I explained that I wasn't necessarily concerned about my medical information being released, after all the Federal Government will pretty much take care of that if it becomes a problem. I was asking for their policy regarding my personally identifiable information (e.g. SSN, Address, Phone Numbers, email address, Mother's Maiden Name, etc.) and my rights as a Patient. She stated "The HIPAA Notice . . . covers all of that." It Does Not. She then wanted to schedule my procedure. When I informed her that I hadn't yet decided if I would have my procedure done by them, she really got defensive. When I explained that while in the waiting room I had watched the biggest Silverfish I had ever seen, crawling around, her response was "Well, we spray once a month." which seemed insufficiently concerned, for a Medical Professional, in a Medical Facility, where Medical Procedures were presumably being conducted. To further explain her defense, she also noted that "we've had a lot of rain lately", which I guess was supposed to settle any concerns I might have had about the sanitary condition of the facility. It didn't. I cancelled any further procedures they might have scheduled, and left. read more

Very nice first appt, the office staff were very helpful, and the provider who saw me was friendly and thorough. They were able to add me on so I didn't have to take time off from an upcoming job, too, so bonus points for that As well. I will recommend them to others. read more

This is the third time we have been to the Sierra Vista office. All three times, they lied to us about calling for our ride home. The medical staff is okay, but they don't answer the phone, leaving you holding for the next available representative for ten minutes or longer. My husband had to sign a waiver and started walking home. This is NO WAY to treat patients. The Tucson office is much more responsible. read more

This is for their Sierra Vista location. This rating will be improved if they fix the issue. Apparently me sending a reply to a text about confirming or cancelling an appointment wasn't enough. Because now all these months later, I was told and I quote, "because you no showed at an appointment in January, she can't see you until December." I was just discharged from the hospital on October 3! I have been dealing with pancreatitis for months and it's debilitating and to be told here's your punishment, really pisses me off when I sent a cancellation text. So, please tell me how I'm in the wrong. Fix you cancellation system. Say via text you have to call in to cancel. I'm really frustrated by this whole situation. Don't act flippant with me! read more

Had my Colonoscopy this afternoon. Everything went great. The Doctor and the entire staff were fantastic.

My wife has been experiencing severe gastroesophageal pain for almost a year. We were not satisfied with the GI Doctor we were seeing and decided to seek a second opinion. So, we got a referral from her Primary Care Manager to see another GI doctor. She had the appointment with Swan Gastroenterology today. She was told that we needed a referral from her previous GI doctor before they would proceed. We have Medicare and Tricare for Life and do not need referrals at all. Swan Gastroenterology seems to be more interested in not stepping on another doctor's toes than seeing what they can do to ease my 81 year old wife's suffering. I don't remember politics being an integral part of the Hippocratic oath. read more

Terrible excuse for a "specialist"! I learned more from the pharmacist at Walgreens then I did on my consultation with Dr. Kissel. Over $300 for him to give me TWO options for my IBS- Miralax or a colonoscopy.... Like, really?! I'm pretty sure there are other tests that could be run to even conclude that that's what I have. At least make some sort of effort as a healthcare provider to CARE! Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere when in need of a gastro doc! read more

Waited waited and waited on phone after being switched from Tucson office to Sierra Vista one to make an appointment.

I'll give 2 stars because Dr Mezher was great when I had a consult with him. The problem is I was never able to get on his schedule for a colonoscopy/endoscopy. His scheduler Roxann contacted me and said my insurance wouldn't cover the facility so she cancelled my procedure. I called back because I found out Dr Mezher does procedures at TMC and that facility is covered by my insurance. Never got a call back. Called at least 6 times trying to get on his TMC schedule but his gatekeeper wouldn't return my calls. I doubt Dr Mezher knows that she is turning away business for him. Ended up taking the hit for the consult and had to find another gastric dr to do my procedure. Paying for 2 consults pisses me off. I do recommend Dr Mezher, but can't say the same for his staff. read more

For my first visit ever I must say they did pretty damn good. We shall see how that goes once my treatment and all is completed. The front office staff was super friendly and very professional. I love it when I walk in for anything medical and everything is set and ready to go. My appointment was 12:15, to whicj I arrived at 12. I got my.paperwork done and was ready by 1210 and was called back right on time. The doctor was in the room within 10 minutes and I was out the door. The only issue is the doctor really seemed to have my treatment already planned without even seeing me. I was hoping to explain a few more things, but with this issue I new I had to get an endo done anyway. So far so good. read more

The initial intake was very good, had my colonoscopy. Got dressed and was told to wait in another room, the Dr will be in to debrief my procedure in a few minutes. Waited and waited, was told he was on the phone and will be right in. 15-20 min later, I watched him walk away and go do another procedure. The staff walked me out.. WITH 3 ekg electrodes still on... Am calling Tricare to report this utter lack of professionalism and service. read more

This as my first time here, first impression weren't so great. I called my insurance the day before my appt to verify if I had a copay or not. Insurance said no. When I arrived they said I had a 45$ copay due to it being a specialty visit. I advised my insurance said no copay and she said well he's a specialty doctor. I asked if they verified my insurance prior to arrival and she said no. I paid the 45$ and they said once the billing is done and if it shows no copay they will refund it. Don't get me wrong the front desk staff was nice just wish they verified prior to arrival. They were able to get me in before the end of the year so it would be covered by my insurance, so that's good. The actual visit with the doctor was real short. I waited in the room for about 15 mins, doc came in asked a couple questions and bam I was out and scheduled for my next appt. The doctor was a little hard to understand due to his accent and the mask. I will update more after my next visit. read more

I was very disappointed in my first (and only) visit to Swan Gastroenterology. After I arrived, as directed, at fifteen minutes before my appointment, I dutifully signed all the paperwork. Then I was put in a small examination room where I waited for not five minutes or ten minutes but for a half an hour beyond my appointment time. As mentioned by others, the doctor spent maybe five minutes with me. He was curt and seemed skeptical about my answers to his questions. Bedside manner on a scale of 1 to 10? Negative number. If you seek a kind, caring, involved experience with a non-dismissive doctor for a very personal procedure, I suggest that you look elsewhere. That's what I intend to do. read more
